Now you too can have the Borg assimilate your CPU.

My understanding of computer hardware is about as extensive as my knowledge of women but I thought the "ti" series have something special about them (something about overclocking?) that makes them super-exceptional cards long after the rest of their sibling cards are considered middling or underpowered. Like people brag their 1070ti runs all modern games at every quality level without a problem.I do. I'm pretty fucking tired of people saying "Buh-buh-but it's a halo card! Dude, it's like a ferrari". You know what, that was cool and all back in the Titan days and whatnot, but these things are now being used to affect prices downsteam.
There are people actually DEFENDING the 4070ti pricing because it's about the same as a 3090 for less money. But I thought that was a ferrari and shouldn't be used to compare value to? Oh, but now that it makes the next generation look like a value, it's okay. This linear perf/$ has been going on since Turing and I'm tired of it. I'm tired of people simping for it.
Same shit as when Ampere was proclaimed as being such a steal...when compared to fucking Turing of all things, and the stupidly overpriced 2080ti at that. When compared to Pascal it was a linear increase.
Look Deepcool, I'd love to have an AK 620 but goddamn make your design choices sensible. Next thing you know, they'll build a Necron Monolith underneath your motherboard.
No kidding - I am soon to buy a new GPU once some money comes through and this has just removed MSI from the list. It was them or a Sapphire. Now it's a Sapphire.
If someone that isn't doing extreme overclocking buys that they should get kicked in the crotch.
Ti used to sometimes be the refresh/improvement of a current architecture happening between the original and next-gen releases. Now they release the Ti on day one. Same with X/XT/XTX or whatever AMD is doing. My understanding of computer hardware is about as extensive as my knowledge of women but I thought the "ti" series have something special about them (something about overclocking?) that makes them super-exceptional cards long after the rest of their sibling cards are considered middling or underpowered. Hell yeah, Sapphire! I'm happy that they're still around. No kidding - I am soon to buy a new GPU once some money comes through and this has just removed MSI from the list. It was them or a Sapphire. Now it's a Sapphire.
The first Ti(tanium) cards were like that, supposed to be the top of the line, above the "best card available" halo products that consume a lot more power and do a bit more fps at a significant price increase. My understanding of computer hardware is about as extensive as my knowledge of women but I thought the "ti" series have something special about them (something about overclocking?) that makes them super-exceptional cards long after the rest of their sibling cards are considered middling or underpowered. That happened at a very strange time though and being the first to ship a 1ghz CPU was a prestige thing, especially for the booming AMD at that time.I think the first 1GHz CPUs from AMD were like 1K USD and it was considered insane and there were some other such oddities, but in general the rule had been that each generation offers increased performance at the same price, or even lower.
Is that cooler the size of a damn ATX power supply? On an ITX board?
Nvidia retard pricing is dragging up the cost of the previous generation because the linear increase in perf/$ means they don't need to sell older cards for firesale prices.I fucked up not buying the Ryzen 5 5600 in December, it was at around 130$, that was a great deal, now i am seeing it at 180$.
At that price range it might be best to go for a Ryzen 7 5700X that costs about the same but i'd have to spend the extra cash on a cooler.
The Rx 6700 XT i had in my cart also went up 40$ just as soon as the year started. It feels like this crazyness might not get better but worse if i wait much longer.
Well that's the point. In a normal situation these high end prices wouldn't affect the lower end pricing.
And no, it's not "AMD letting them get away with it", it's the consumer. All people have to do is literally not buy the shit. It's not Intel's fault, either. It's whoever opens their wallet up for the next fix.
Why should AMD and Intel undercut Nvidia when people buy Nvidia cards at retard prices? The consumer gave Nvidia 80%+ market share, now reap the consequences.
That's likely Alder Lake, it doesn't line up with the dies from Raptor Lake. See the footnote in the table: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raptor_Lake#Desktop_processors_(Raptor_Lake-S)Beware buying the 13600 - it has way less L2 cache than the 13600K. They're pulling an nvidia trying hide crap parts behind exisitng names.
Despite its hardware nerfs, it was an OK option when it got cleared out at $99 with a free game. It's a shame that AMD a company historically known for being budget friendly just hasn't provided the budget market with any good options after the RX500 series. The RX 6500 XT is a joke.
Intel has done a good job hiding this fact. Just look at this thread. It was leaked that 13100/13400/13500/13600 would use Alder Lake dies months before the parts became official. That's likely Alder Lake, it doesn't line up with the dies from Raptor Lake. $1200 Canadabucks or real money? Consider the current PCPartPicker AMD gaming build, less money will get you better performance and gear.toughts on this build?
i can build this pc for 1200 bucks
right now im using a xeon 1246 and a rx590 so everything will be better i guess

What would you use it for? It has a few weak points, the motherboard I think is really low end, the PSU is not enough to get you through a future upgrade either if things continue like this. I hope there are 2 sticks of that RAM, you really need 16GB. The SSDs are meh, and the HDD might not be enough for your needs, 2.5GB of storage is a bit low for a new PC, but you'll be able to add more later. The CPU and GPU should make a great combo at 1080p. The 6600xt is like a 1080ti or so. Will last you a few years for 1080p.toughts on this build?
