toughts on this build?
i can build this pc for 1200 bucks
right now im using a xeon 1246 and a rx590 so everything will be better i guess

See if you can find an A520 board. It's a better match for the 5000 series cpu.

I'm glad I bought the RX580 a while ago like detailed in this thread. Not because it's such a good card but because I was kinda hesitant to spend more because I had a feeling I'd get bored of graphics intense game quickly anyways. And that I did. if you counted the days together I actually played videogames on that card you probably wouldn't get up to three weeks. When the up-and-coming APUs are even better than the one on my current completely satisfactory 4650G Pro then I guess that was it for graphics cards and me, barring AI getting interesting/outlawed enough that actually owning a high end card to do AI stuff on is worth it. I'm currently wondering how long it'll take manufacturers to start selling hardware with "unlockable features", like with cars. I think we're not too far away from it tbh.

I would be a bit reluctant to get a AMD CPU, because most of them lack an iGPU.
I got a 5600G partly for this reason - backup if the GPU craps out and I can recycle it into a multimedia box or something if I upgrade later. Also it was cheaper than the 5600.

Don't know about other applications but for games there isn't that big a difference between the 5600 and the G.

I'd disagree. 650w is plenty for mainstream parts, no matter how much nvidia wants it to be otherwise.
It's Bronze. With a 13600K and one of the latest gen cards from AMD or Nvidia, you'll have to power limit the GPU more likely. Yeah these are not really mainstream (the 4070ti should be mid range though just like the 1070ti was, but the prices are disagreeing), but in the future who knows what sorts of insane power draws these brands will release. It only seems to be going up and up for years. I still remember having a GTX 970 at 160W. Great stuff, and it was the second best if you ignored the 980Ti.

The 5600G is cheaper because its pcie 3.0. the 5600 is pcie 4.0 compatible

I was going to get the 5600 so i looked it up.

I would steer clear of the A320 motherboard. If you are unlucky you might get old stock and then you need a 1000/2000/3000 series Ryzen to flash the bios to support the 5600. You can probably get a nice ITX B450 for 90-100 bucks. And didn't the 300-series have some trouble with RAM? They might have fixed that but overall the A320 seems like too much of a potential pain in the ass to save a couple of bucks on.

What would you use it for? It has a few weak points, the motherboard I think is really low end, the PSU is not enough to get you through a future upgrade either if things continue like this. I hope there are 2 sticks of that RAM, you really need 16GB. The SSDs are meh, and the HDD might not be enough for your needs, 2.5GB of storage is a bit low for a new PC, but you'll be able to add more later. The CPU and GPU should make a great combo at 1080p. The 6600xt is like a 1080ti or so. Will last you a few years for 1080p.
I would be a bit reluctant to get a AMD CPU, because most of them lack an iGPU. If you have a spare videocard it's not that important. Things can get defective, and it's super annoying to not have a PC for 2 weeks while the card gets replaced.
Also if you're using Adobe Premiere or plan on encoding on the iGPU, I'd steer clear of AMD. But if you have a spare card and don't care about video encoding and Premiere, it's irrelevant.

gaming, audacity and davinci resolve
Not that familiar with Resolve. I think it can also make use of Intel iGPUs, especially those in more modern CPUs like 11-12-13 gen, but it's more for specific H265 higher end formats. You should take a look and decide if it matches your use case and if it's worth it. Also found this:

The SSD is fine for Resolve, raw read speed and low latency is the most important thing because there's always going to be more data read than written. And actually gaining anything from hyperfast NVMe speeds in gaming is a meme at this point. Using mismatched GPUs in Resolve is easy to do but the VRAM will be limited to the card/gpu with the least of it, so it might not be a great idea.
In my opinion hardware encoders doesn't matter much when using something like Resolve, it is the rendering and not the encoding of the video that takes time when exporting. With tons of crap going on it can get down to sub-1fps speeds.

RIP Optane; when backed by a good RAID array, it was absurdly fast.. I had thought Gelsinger would stop making share- and dividend-focused decisions, but nope :(

how reliable are amazon second hand deals? im looking a 6600xt almost 150 bucks cheaper than a new one

Can someone give me a balanced take on AMD's gpus? They look overpriced and underpowered. They dont have things like nvbroadcast. What are AMD gpus good for?
They are good for using the Linux (nVidya is intentionally hostile about providing drivers for Linux)
