Is there a limit on how many times the defense can ask for a continuance? What basis are they using to keep asking for this? How soon can we expect a trial?
There's definitely a hard limit based upon the charges. You can't hold someone in jail for longer than they would be sentenced if found guilty.

It’s been a while, no? We got 4-5 letters in a month or so, then nothing(that I know of, unless it was thread merged and I didn’t catch it). Odd for him not to correspond heavily during the holidays, if for nothing else but to reenforce the Christ roll play and beg for store money. I wonder if somebody stepped in? Something changed for sure.

Chris regularly sends letters to Kengle (see the megathread) as recently as Jan 29th. He also has at least 60 approved people for letters, most of them just aren't posting them online.

There's always a limit. But remember that Chris is currently incarcerated. Multiple continuances are not a defense tactic given that it's prolonging Chris' time in jail. If Chris was walking free, maybe it would be a different story but Heilberg has no incentive to continue the case just to continue the case. I'm sure Chris is being difficult with the mental health evaluator or whatever.

It's also not terribly unusual to see a few continuances in a case anyway, so it's kind of a non-issue. I know we're all eager to see a resolution one way or the other but the wheels of justice move very slowly. It's just the way it is.

Ah Christ, even now some motherfuckers are content hoarding in hopes of being the next “manager” huh? Pathetic.

Wont he lose his tugboat if hes in there too long?
He has to be convicted of something for that to happen, and he's only had charges brought against him.

Also to those who kept forgetting the source that Barb was under care of Tom and Harriet-- that was Chris himself in one of the jail letters, I think.

This. A lot of summer types in this thread don't seem to realize that Chris's court cases aren't always continued because he's playing the Autism Card, or because he's an internet celebrity, but because he's not a murderer or domestic terrorist so that's just the speed at which things move for his cases.

Was there any reason to suspect he fucked his mom at this time last year? I don't think there is anything too absurd to speculate at this point.
Well, the motherfucking has come up a LOOOOOOOOOONG time in the past(well over a decade ago at least in one of his captains logs i think), as for the cheese pizza, well the only thing i can think of is there is that one comic where he had a little girl character made up just to ask to get nude for some shit, and they told her no.

If he's been convicted of a felony can he get them back? I know things below not so much but still.

OK going to explain this for like the tenth time.

Yes. It will never be revoked unless he starts making a real income. Ironically his success is the only thing that will revoke it. The Everfree donations were dangerously close to something that could have gotten him kicked off SSDI, but since Null was handling the money it acted as a level of protection.

When he is convicted, if he spends 30 days incarcerated *afterward*, it will be suspended, but not revoked. Restarting the tugboat is a matter of sending in his release papers to let the SSA know that he is no longer incarcerated.

It is possible that he is mistakenly suspended now, if the jail notified the SSA of his incarceration without differentiating that he is not convicted yet. If this is the case, it can be corrected later and the 5+ months of back payments issued to give Chris a nice windfall. Assuming Barb is not using the payments now, either way Chris potentially has a $6k plus nest egg to help him out once he's released.

There's definitely a hard limit based upon the charges. You can't hold someone in jail for longer than they would be sentenced if found guilty.

Explaining this again too:

There's a hard limit on incarcerating him, not on the case itself. If the jail time exceeds the maximum sentence, he can request to be released without bail being an issue, and they have to let him go, but the court case can continue. He can then remain free as long as he makes his court dates. If he misses them, they can charge him with failure to appear and rearrest him and jail him as a flight risk.

It will not get to this point though. It will either be resolved within a year, or it will turn into a felony case in which case they can keep him in jail even if it takes ten years. Chris could also just voluntarily stay in jail longer since he has nowhere to go anyway. It will probably never get to this point though as this sort of shit annoys judges.

It's currently suspended but no, he can always reapply so long as he has Autism.

Does not need to reapply, just send documentation that he's not incarcerated on a conviction. i.e. he doesn't need to prove that he's autistic again, he just needs to prove that he's not in jail/prison on a conviction.

This. A lot of summer types in this thread don't seem to realize that Chris's court cases aren't always continued because he's playing the Autism Card, or because he's an internet celebrity, but because he's not a murderer or domestic terrorist so that's just the speed at which things move for his cases.

Terrorism cases can be complicated and can take years, complicated murder cases too. The fastest-moving cases are the smallest ones because the stakes are lowest. High-stakes cases either move fast if the prosecution is playing ball, or very slowly if the prosecution is being unreasonable. If there's nothing to lose, the defense will fight to the bitter end for even the tiniest of successes in improving the outcome for the defendant.

Chris is a middle ground. Depending on how it's prosecuted the stakes are significant, but the evidence is complicated and messy. He's almost certainly guilty of *something*, but exactly what is difficult to say. Combine this with the goal of the state to resolve this in a way the reflects well on the state and prevents future problems, and it's not the sort of thing that can necessarily be wrapped up quickly.

In the end, taking it slowly is in the best interests of all involved, even if it makes Chris unhappy.

I don't think he's had any little girl characters in any spicy situations. He had a mid-teen character during the photoshoot-for-women's-liberation thing, which is what I think you're referring to. He's had a couple issues with teenagers/minors in situations where sex was discussed, but nothing happened, and no outright children ever involved. Probably the raciest thing that happened was 17-year-old Kathleen being bound in leather by the evil Jason Kendrick Howell. (Chris was convinced that JKH was breaking the law. He wasn't, as the age range was within Tennessee's close-in-age exemption)

More importantly, in real life, he's never sexually propositioned minors, let alone children. The worst he did was kiss a 16-year-old male on the cheek at Too Many Games.

EDIT: Unless you count Bluespike, but that's not Chris' fault.
