I'm inclined to agree. 14BC is effectively the only true sanctuary Chris has known, barring the rental which he was forced into (but he also knew that eventually he would return to 14BC so that's probably why he accepted the temporary living arrangements). I've also been re-reading the CWCki article about the jail saga and specifically the part about his arraignment hearing where he was interrupting everybody, including his own lawyer, about the demands to fetch his toys before anything else, and I would presume he thinks that in addition to losing 14BC he's going to lose all his worldly possessions. Which is probably true to some extent even with a plea deal, but if Chris doesn't accept a plea then he really does lose everything to be consigned and scattered to the winds of Goodwill or the garbage dump.

Thus, Chris is finally in a situation where he truly can't be in a situation he can spin on his own terms to be satisfactory, which must be infuriating to him after decades of being let off the hook due to being a tard. It's almost certain he doesn't realize it, but him doubling down tenfold on his escapist messiah complex probably is due to the fact that's literally all he's got left. For somebody as greedy, self-centered, and materialistic as Chris, it's a pretty good dose of poetic justice.

The grand jury has nothing to do with Chris himself. The prosecutor just goes to the Grand Jury to request a felony indictment. That will probably happen within 30 days. Grand Jury’s always indict, and the Prosecution has more than enough to get a ton of charges in this if they wish. Above and beyond felony incest and rape there is some Elder Abuse which gets missed. Just to clarify, Chris has stated in one of the jail letters that contrary to popular belief, he wasn't demanding to have his legos brought to him, he was actually referring to having the stuff he left at the motel collected and sent home. I think Barb has been having "spells" of confusion and incapacitation for years. It's possible that Chris recognizes when she is in that state and takes advantage of her. Incapacitation doesn't mean that she is never lucid. I don't think proving incapacitation would be as hard as people here seem to think. She was diagnosed with senile dementia years ago and there's ample video evidence of her being completely out of it.

Rereading the law, it would be, under subsection ii, which would be "diminished mental capacity". The State would have to prove Barb wasn't a willing participant though. Virginia's rape law is complicated af, and there is so much wiggle room in it, Chris could actually beat it. It does have the 40 years baked into the cake though, and the Judge is allowed to offer that as a suspended sentence in exchange for a guilty plea. Provided the State does not find for any of the subsections. Which in this case, would be that subsection ii for diminished mental capacity as it relates to barb.
