Get back on your boat John Smith. As a resident of shithole Virginia, I'm surprised I'm good with this outcome. It's better he be kept in jail rather than him boarding a Greyhound bus and finding him in my area of the state. We have enough weirdos and really don't want any more.
Chris: I. AM. NOT. A...SLOW IN DA MIND!!!!!!I called it. They haven't found a shrink willing to take that case
right, gen 3 remake need to be stoppedThose jerkops do not understand how important it is for chris to get back to barb and MLP.
Chris WILL be acquitted on all charges and the bailiff WILL be forced to wheel Barb into the recess room for a ready and waiting Chris.
Where do you think they’d drop Chris off or he would settle after release? Any particular area(s) known for that? It's better he be kept in jail rather than him boarding a Greyhound bus and finding him in my area of the state
His attorney waived his right to a speedy trial, otherwise they would have had to have heard his case by now. I'm sure Heilberg is thinking (correctly, I might add) that Chris is better off spending his time in jail since he's going to get hit with a custodial sentence anyway, he might as well rack up as much time served as he can now.I’m surprised he has been in the jail for a while now. One would think there would be a limit on how long they can just keep him in jail without conviction.
And don't forget, jail isn't prison. He's probably having a far cushier life in jail than he'd have in prison. Most criminals there are only in for an overnight stay.My uninformed hot take: the defense wants to keep Chris behind bars until Barb dies. Chris probably likes the structure of jail to some extent and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't want to get out. (Not like he has anything going on in the free world anyways) If Chris gets out with Barb alive he'll go and reoffend the second he gets out. Besides, no one has any clue what to do with Chris anyways, he has nowhere to go post-jail.
My added theory to that is I think the defense wasn’t prepared to have Barb back home unattended in the timeframe of Chris’s release. They know he’ll break parole the second he gets out, and bee-line right back to 14blc and his abused old mother and make them look like fucking idiots for getting him out. It’s in their best interest to keep him warehoused till that whole situation plays out.
As others have suggested, this may also be simply burning time with Chris in the slammer for the purposes of time served, maybe with the objective that at the end of the day it could lead to Chris exiting the prison system and thus no longer being the problem of the government. This would have been the first hearing where Chris's lawyer would have had time to negotiate a plea bargain - and it didn't happen. That tells me that the prosecution isn't eager to get rid of this case. They want to go forward. It may be that neither side have any idea of what to do with Chris after he gets out. No one in his family wants him. He isn't fit to take care of himself. There's no money to have him put in a group home. Jail might be the most convenient place to keep him, at least until the penal system doesn't want him any more.
The defense might be stalling to buy time to put a social worker on the case to figure out what the hell to do with OPL. The prosecution may have demanded a plan for after his release as a condition of the plea bargain.
Possible, though quite a gamble given we've been saying Barb was on death's door for years and yet somehow she's still clutching to life without so much as an air tank or anything more than maybe a cane. Well, before the accident at least, no idea if she's even still able to walk now.My uninformed hot take: the defense wants to keep Chris behind bars until Barb dies. Didn't the legal experts comment that the longer this goes on, the worse off for Chris it will be? You are correct, it seems like the court isn't going to just clear this as fast as they can which means they're treating this like a big deal. This would have been the first hearing where Chris's lawyer would have had time to negotiate a plea bargain - and it didn't happen. I really think the continuance is to give them more time to find placement for Chris Chan and have the Barb/14BC situation get settled.Get back on your boat John Smith.
The S.S. Continuance has sailed.
Chris would probably want to be dropped off anywhere that has a pony convention.Where do you think they’d drop Chris off or he would settle after release? Any particular area(s) known for that?
