Before the Barb thing Chris was going to con's and getting some weird edge form of mainstream acceptance, finally making money from his infamy he had people seeking him out at cons, people commissioning artwork from him to use on album art, people writing books about him that where serious in nature, etc.
And he was also getting kicked out of those same cons long before ever having the slightest chance of being invited to a hypothetical party room.
The general public might be unaware of Chris' true nature, but anyone legally responsible for the convention would have done their homework on him lest they be sued for Chris' actions. It's their job.
Do you really think it's ok for Chris to act inappropriately towards anyone as long as he gets his ass kicked?
This is about Chris, not me. That said, I think getting his ass kicked would be a valuable lesson against committing such actions again in the future.
Moralizing about Chris is mental masturbation. Whatever you or I believe is inappropriate is irrelevant to Chris; he doesn't care. The point is that
Chris himself thinks these inappropriate behaviors are OK, and there's only one way he's going to learn otherwise: immediate harsh consequences.
"Transphobia" in a theatre studies degree.
LOL
So they only do self loathing Noël Coward plays?
I‘d be most concerned about vulnerable women, like if he’s in a care home or shelter and they’re on a lot of meds or are a low functioning autistic or something like that, assumedly staff wouldn’t want Chris left alone with them but it’s not always possible.
The court isn't foolish enough to respect Chris' pronouns. He will be sent to a male-only facility.
Technically Chris IS a creepy uncle, he has a brother (not Cole the optometrist) who has a daughter.
Chris is an uncle, and Chris is creepy, but I think there has to be actual contact to achieve the Creepy Uncle trope. So far as I know, Dave looked at Chris' eyes once (probably for free knowing the Chandlers) and Chris and Barb failed to contact them at their home. Dave might have attended Bob's funeral, but not for the sake of Chris or Barb. Likely Dave Chandler is keeping his family as far from Chris as possible.
This is assuming rape charges don't get added.
If they do, Chris will have to be kicked up to the circuit court. i don't think they want to create that much more work for themselves.
The judge should punish Chris by breaking all his fucking toys
It's been done. To really punish Chris, leave his toys intact, but let Chris know they've been given away for someone else to enjoy.
Because she’s an elderly rape victim and family. It helps smooth some things over. Maybe they feel it’s their social/christian/family duty to at least get her situated somewhere.
I think it's just because she's family, and that's all the reason they need. Family ties like that can be pretty strong in tribal societies like you find in rural Virginia.
Also they may be trying to prevent any further contact with Chris by getting Barb fixed somewhere without him.
Reading through the thread it almost seems like people want Chris to be a pedo. It would make absolutely hating him justified and righteous.
And that prevents them from evaluating him objectively.
Do you honestly think anyone on the prosecution could make heads or tails of those letters beyond "I am and always have been Jesus?"
I doubt they even care. Besides, they have mental health consultants to dig through that shit.
he'll be whisked away to some assisted living facility instead of having to spend any more time behind bars.
There will be no whisking. Finding a placement somewhere can be a very long process. It's possible all these mental health evaluations the court is waiting on are actually interviews with various facilities and programs trying to work out if they want to take Chris on. So these continuances could simply be because the court has nowhere to put him yet.
