I don't get this whole PS2 emulator talk. Just grab the original PC copies of the trilogy and then mod it to be like the PS2 version.
It's a very easy thing to do, plus you can pick every mod you'd like to try.
The thing is that T2 has been shooting down such mods, so the 4-wheels truck may be a rarity by now.
i agree with picking CLEO and the 1.0 verison of the OG's to do stuff, you can also expect niggers to pick the remastered assets and port it over to the OG versions since their autism and ego are astronomically high.

What's a magnet link?
hide that shit, nigga. else T2 will go after daddy nool.

So far T2 took down only the most popular total conversions and the reverse engineering project, the regular stuff (model, scripts, etc) are still there. Actually, what they did was an half-assed job, because you can still find mirrors of those "deleted" mods.

IIRC they also unofficialy halted the lawsuit against the authors of re3/reVC, according to a GTAForums post.

While I totally agree that taking down mods is a scum thing to do, I must admit that most users of GTAForums had a massive spergout due to it. According to them it seemed like they nuked every mod existing to this point, while in reality they just took down the hottest mods and then stopped. Looks like their legal department is sloppy as their development one.

EDIT: While I'm at it, I also want to point out that there were more mods taken down by the authors themselves rather than Take-Two. Looks like the scaremongering did more damage than the DMCA itself.

I too have literally heard soemone say "It's not 2001 anymore, the fun of games are the season pass unlockables and things you can buy".
Was it just the people I was around a decade ago, or was it not actually common practice to mock people who buy cosmetics? I swear, it used to be frowned upon and treated like a sign that you suck at the game, so you make up for it by dressing your character up all flashy.

I always thought microtransactions were fucking stupid, but especially cosmetic ones.

Then again, I don't remember cosmetics being that big until like 2016 or 2017, but that could have everything to do with me simply not playing many multiplayer games between 2012 and then. Before that I just remember Horse Armor in Oblivion and I guess GTA Online but the vehicles always seemed more the focus than clothes.

I feel like something has turned certain gamers into retarded consumers. Half the gamers I used to game with back in like 2000-2008 are now obsessed with cosmetics and shit it's crazy.

Oblivion's Horse Armor DLC comes to mind.

There are literal cosmetics on sale in GTA Online.

Jack Thompson got his wish in general, games are toned down as shit these days, long gone are the days of "murder simulators", no sexual content, no edgy humor, maybe some violence but it's still overall not like it was.
You'd think all these young and "alternative" people would be different but in practice they're even worse than the bible thumping crybullies of the 90s and earlier. Those usually left you at least alone in your private spaces and didn't try to invade everything.

When something like this garbage is released I see so many people in random places posting "Ugh, what garbage, I'm so glad I got it on sale for $30 instead $60" or "I know it's garbage but I was curious, already uninstalled it" "I know it's bad but I am on the way to 100%, I'll uninstall it at once then" (..ok? I think the latter group might be gambling addicts) but in general - yeah, sure showed 'em chief. Companies make money this way, this also will be a financial success. There's absolutely no reason for them not to do it. Gamers are the most passive, easily influenced group I can imagine. Nowadays it's enough if you manage to get some youtube influencers to make O-Faces to your bug ridden garbage. Actual skills to make a game don't even factor into it all anymore. Mainstream gaming is basically as creatively bankrupt and corrupt as Hollywood. This won't change anymore.

They knew that DLC was so basic & short to improve your horse's health. Was the first time they created a plugin to being uploaded in a online service thought (Xbox Live).
Remember the Golden Mudcrab? Was a satire of what happened in that time.
But let's be honest; they even created plugins for Morrowind. There's a good mod in Nexus which merges all of them.

Now was this really so hard, GSG?
It looks better and improves framerate.

BTW, what's the bet that street shitters and shit street games will be blatant about taking modder's edited files and resubmitting them to R* as their own fixes?

You think they'll actually fix any of this?
The expired song files? Definitely.
The easiest shit like draw distance and a few texture edits, perhaps but not likely. If anything is done, it's stolen work from modders.
Anything that requires opening a map editor and removing bad collisions and meshes with a fine-tooth comb? Nope.
Anything to do with model optimization? lolno.
Anything to do with scripting? The pajeets can't even wipe their own asses and GSG probably doesn't even know what scripting language these games use.

Honestly between this i am worried about how the remake of POP sands of time is gonna turn out being made by a pajeet dvision of ubisoft ( ubisoft pune ) though from what ive seen they seem to take their time with it since they delayed it possibley to early 2023

They're not paying for the games, they're paying for the convenience of easy installs and not having to learn how to set up and maintain an emulator.

It's a shame that most people really are that lazy that learning some DIY about how to run your old games is a step too far, but, that's just how things are in a world where even the right to repair your own stuff needs to go through court. It's the same deal with so many people paying for Spotify, when it's trivial to just download and archive MP3s straight off of YouTube. Especially on Android. A few less clicks really is worth a small stack of cash to many, many people out there.

Besides, there's an element of groupthink there, too. It's Grand Theft Auto, the best selling game series of all time. You've been able to pick up copies of those games for nothing, for over a decade. My PS2 copy of San Andreas was a dollar on clearance at a used game shop. My PS3 copy was a $5 clearance find. They were as readily available as old sports games. If you've wanted to play these games, they've never not been readily available. So, why now? Why drop full price on a bundle of old games just to pray they get fixed down the line - especially after there's no financial incentive for Grove Street Games to do so?

Yeah, that's not rational thinking. That's classic FOMO.
The only way this is semi-justified is if you want them for the Switch and are just THAT desperate for the chance to play GTA 3/VC/SA on the go that you'll make a devil's bargain buying a garbage "remaster" that rapes the games and makes them borderline if not outright unplayable.

It still makes me laugh how some people complain about Horse Armor being the most despicable case of microtransactions ever created but then these same people see Power Armor skins in Fallout 76 costing $25 and don't say a word.

It's sad that I long for the days of Horse Armor.

Games widening their audience led to the increase in casuals who wanted to purchase worthless dlc crap. Back in high school was when I noticed the response to dlc being teased before the game even came out was met with hype and them saying it's only optional. Now that it's the standard, it's not going to change since it's easy money for shit devs were going to include anyway
