My favorite part about IV credits is that it'll recap past missions during the background sequences.

The Lost and Damned has to have one of the saddest endings of a GTA game yet. You know what I'm talking about. GTA V just invalidates everything you've worked up to during TLAD. It would've been better if Trevor's enemies were the Angels of Death.

I could understand if they presented him as being a broken mess at the end of TLaD but I always took it as the middle ground ending for all the episodes. Yeah, Johnny lost the majority of the club and Jim, but he came out of it with a clear head of what and who were important from the gang and seemingly was starting over by cutting ties with Ashley.

To go from that to Johnny still being in a club that has no respect for him, addicted to meth and getting killed over Ashley just feels like they had no clue how to introduce Trevor tbqh.

My personal headcanon for Johnny and the remaining Lost brothers would've been to settle back into Liberty City for a few years to support Jim's widow through petty crime. Ashley would've stayed in rehab for a few weeks and OD'd herself without nobody to blame but herself. Johnny knows who he is, but at least he has brothers that would stick by him whatever may happen. That's more than anybody could ask for, especially as a criminal.

I cope with what they did by assuming Jim was the rat, and Johnny found out by trying to track down his widow only to find out they were both in witsec.

That's the only way I can justify him becoming such a depressive sad sack while also coming to terms with the fact Niko clearly didnt kill Jim.

I know Billy betrayed the gang, but what sense did it make for Johnny to rip off Ray for the diamond cash? If that had not happened, perhaps Jim would not had died the way he did.

It doesn't make sense, and I'll die on the hill that what we got in the episodes wasnt what they had in mind when writing GTAIV.

I still think that Johnny was originally going to be much more of an asshole character based on his presentation in GTAIV, but even if that wasn't the case they clearly were written into a corner with the crossover missions. The whole diamond fiasco feels like much more of an impulsive Billy move, and I would assume Ashley originally being Billys old lady could have factored into it.

Speaking of which, I feel that Clay was a last mission addition for The Lost and Damned. He's strictly a background character during cutscenes. I believe Clay was even involved in the fall of Saigon based on character development.

Agreed, the fact he doesn't have an entry in the police database says a lot imo

There's two activities in IV that I despise: air hockey and arm wrestling. Both of which have to do with controls. Controlling the paddling with an analog stick is floaty, especially with the above camera perspective not being suited for the game. Good luck when the AI gets their puck stuck on the corner.

Arm wrestling (TLAD) requires you to rapidly move the right analog stick left to right. The trick is to move the analog stick UP while you're rocking the stick. Don't use your palm. You may break your analog or burn your skin.

I've redownloaded Chinatown Wars on my phone. The larger screen does make the rudimentary 3D and comic art style pop out. The cost for that bigger screen is that the touch buttons are small by default. At least I could connect a controller to it if I need to.

Thank God in V, you just need to press Y/triangle instead of holding it for a taxi.

1. Holy Shit, the casino was 5 years ago now? I guess I stopped playing "regularly" longer ago than I thought.

2, Apparently even though I said I didn't care enough to know this was the drip feed content for the last update, I apparently at some point did see those cutscenes with Vincent and assumed he had been brought back in an older DLC I hadn't played and he was just a regular character now :/
