So, question for everyone. I'm starting a new character on PS5; the game gave me 4,000,000 to help start up my first criminal career. The four I can start with are Executive, Gunrunner, Nightclub Owner, or Biker; any suggestion on which one? I'm a (mostly) solo-only player, and I was looking for something casual, preferably low risk that can make money easily. I was considering either Nightclub Owner as I heard it gives a passive income, or Gunrunner since it provides access to the MK.II Weapons, though what do you guys suggest? I know I can take a look at other businesses later, and I will, just looking for a decent starter.

Taking a look so far, Biker looks like it's multiplayer-focused, so that's out; same with Executive, unless I'm missing something. Gunrunner and Nightclub Owner both look more casual and solo-friendly, but I'm not the most knowledgeable about GTA Online these days, so... anyone got any advice?

start with the acid lab, no upfront cost and the contact missions are fun. do that for a while, then get a nightclub for the daily income, and then a kosatka for cayo perico. if you need another side business, the agency and the auto shop are quick, easy money. everything else you can buy as you need basically.

Acid Lab is a Biker or Executive thing, right? If so, which one? I'll go for that one first, then grab a Nightclub, then a sub, like you said.

And what about Gunrunner, out of curiosity? Is that good for a solo player?

Question for everyone; where do you guys have your businesses? What vehicles and weapons do you like? Call me curious; I've got my office set up at Maze Bank West currently because it was far cheaper, but I was thinking of swapping over to Arcadius when I get enough money, since it's apparently a better location from what I've heard? Starting back when I had the PS4 version of the game - for some reason it didn't transfer my old progress from 4 to 5, but that's no issue, really - I enjoy the Desert Eagle/Pistol .50, Compact Rifle, and Double Barrel Shotgun in terms of weapons. I also usually go for bikes for mobility.

I hope everyone who's snitching to rockstar about the Vice City RAGE port OD's on fent.

Here's hoping San Andreas gets the same treatment soon.
Vice City during daytime does look a little bland and jarring in IV's engine, but at night god DAMN do the neon lights really help it pop off!
Russians are built different when it comes to GTA and managing to pull off the craziest feats in this series.

Pay 20 dollars for Stand and save yourself the 100s of hours of grinding and putting up with Rockstar's bullshit system designed to wring more cash out of you. Literally just steal and shit all over Rockstar's stuff, it's fine, they deserve it. Think about all the DMCA's, the shark cards and the fan projects they beheaded while you're at it. It's not cheating if the game is designed to fuck you on the ass.

If GTA 6 actually has a base price of $100, that may just collapse the gaming industry. Ask yourself this: even if GTA 6 is great, would it be worth that price five, ten years ago? Probably not. It's been ten years without a GTA entry.
Why do people keep saying this? How do you imagine this "collapse" happening? Like, people wouldn't buy the game, and then the gaming industry would... collapse?

And GTA 3 cost $90 when you account for inflation.

GTA 6 has a estimated budget of a projected $2 billion. Other developers are delaying their releases to avoid being taken over by R*'s anticipated blockbuster. It isn't enough that GTA 6 would be a success, it will. It has to meet projected sales FOR investors to consider it a success. Also take into account the microtransactions that people bought from GTA Online that would likely not transfer over to 6.

Game budgets are ballooning into the size of small countries' GDP and likely not making a profit. Everybody's eyes are on GTA 6 as it could set an example for other publishers/developers on managing their budgets.

I will say this, it was fucking gay for them to try and take down the Vice City Remaster mod before it even came out, but I think them deciding to basically allow people to pirate the game by repackaging the entire thing was a supremely retarded move on their part.
I'm all for dunking on Tardstar and Take Two Shots To The Back Of The Skull as anyone else but all that is doing is reinforcing their retarded viewpoint that modder bad.

I'm out of the loop on this one, how is it exactly that you can get away with distributing the whole entire game, yet can't do the same with only the mods themselves?

They're russian.

I'm out of the loop on this one,
Oh my bad, I'm a retard. Allow me to explain then.
Alright, so about a week or so ago the developers (Forgot their team name sorry.) uploaded a trailer for their mod onto youtube, the mod basically allows you to play Vice City in Grand Theft Auto IV's engine. As soon as the trailer went up it got taken down by Take Two and Rockstar and their channel was terminated. A pretty douche move all things considered. The trailer also announced the intended release date which was January 25th.
Apparently inbetween the channel getting removed and the final release date the modders sent preview copies of the mod to select people and according to them the original version of the mod required you to have purchased a copy of GTA IV obviously.

However on the 25th instead of just releasing the mod on it's own like before they released it as a full on repack basically allowing you to download the entire thing for free as a "Fuck you." to Rockstar.
And since they're Russians it's unlikely anything is going to happen to themselves. Won't stop TT from trying to take down anything hosting the mod though.

Ah, that makes sense. I feel it's a smart move to release total conversion mods through the use of torrents, since as long as at least one person has it and seeds it, then everyone else can get a copy too - it's impossible to take down at that point. And since it's not technically being hosted anywhere specifically, the most someone like T2 can complain about are the torrent files/magnet links posted by the devs, so yeah.

Obbe Vermiji speaks on the takedown in question:

Take2/R* are a commercial company. They will take down mods that interfere with their business interests. The VC NextGen Edition mod for gta4 directly competes with the Definitive Edition. The Liberty City preservation project (gta4 in gta5 engine) would interfere with a possible gta4 remaster. (No idea whether they’re working on that. I think they should) There’s no point getting angry about it. This is what companies are supposed to do. The best we can hope for is that they allow mods that don’t interfere with their business. Such as DCA3 (Gta3 for Dreamcast). Afaik they have recently been decent about letting these projects continue.

Isn't their some crazy shit that i might have missed if someone bought it up here but the CEO (or someone) "hopes" that GTA 6 will be $100 and will set a precedent for the industry?

So, the mod happened first, THEN a torrented copy of GTA IV WITH the mod was released after R*/T2 took it down? Russia must be lax on IP rights compared to the rest of the world. (I know there's a Russian YouTube called ok.ru where you can watch full length movies unedited.)

I understand, but don't necessarily agree, why R*/T2 took down the Vice City remaster mod. That could interfere with GTA VI sales.

Basically, yeah.

It's quite similar to the gaming crash of 1983, where E.T did so fucking horrible everyone just had no faith in gaming anymore and stopped buying stuff, and it took Nintendo to bring the NES to the US with a heavy redesign to start it back up. Well, it wasn't just E.T, but a bunch of poor quality games that came before it. Sound familiar? Many players have already been burned by a bunch of shitty game releases recently. Sony is also banking on GTA VI selling PS5s.

Since GTA VI has so much hype and anticipation around it, I wouldn't be surprised if VI turns out shit and that happens.

That's understating it. Piracy is basically legal there. It's why most pirates are Russian, South American, or South Asian.
