The same leaked code who are leaked by the stupid deflective editions?
It's a bit worse if Silent's now deleted tweet, archived on Junior_Djjr's YouTube channel, is true, and R* back in it's golden days actually donated some code to MTA, which now the kike brigade of Strauss Zelnick is using against MTA.

Schreier report:

- The last he heard the game was NOT content complete

- He believes it’s really hard to say right now if the game will release in November, and doesn’t think anyone at Rockstar is 100% certain they’ll make it

- This release date feels a little bit more real than Fall 2025 or May 2026 did

- Developers are still finalizing missions, adding stuff and deciding what makes it into the final game

- He hopes they’re done with that soon so they can start the bug fixing phase

- Rockstar can’t settle for anything less than perfection as the stakes are high

- The entire stock of Take-Two lives or dies on this game

- They would rather let it slip again than release it in a compromised state

- Take-Two’s fiscal year ends in late March 2027, so they have a little bit of buffer if they still want to release the game in the same fiscal year

- He says PlayStation is the main platform for the game and Sony is planning its entire lineup around it

Well, whose fault is that? Rockstar and Take Two could've salvaged themselves from a hail mary if they released smaller games in between their big budget releases. They didn't even have to do yearly releases like they did from the sixth generation.

I believe Schreier where GTA VI is make or break for Take Two. All that money for one game, they're counting on anyone and everyone to buy it to break even. That's just from SALES. If they're banking with PlayStation to sell this game, GOOD LUCK. How many PlayStation 5 consoles have been sold lately? Even so, consoles are more expensive than ever and who would NOW buy a PlayStation 5 just for GTA VI if they haven't had one already?

why would they? gta 5 is the 2nd best selling game of all time and red dead 2 is the 4th. on top the sales of gta online, they've made bank from these games alone. they just put a ton of stock into their soup and are banking on it being the best soup ever made

That's the same logic that nearly bankrupt Blizzard and forced them to sell.
They sat on WoW instead of other franchises because they made easy bank from it.
We saw what happened next.

T2 will be sold off to Saudi oil interests and chink consortiums by the time the PS6 launches.

Truthfully, what more could they add to the GTA formula? It’ll be an iterative entry but with higher quality graphics. Basically, an inverse story of Half Life 3. Way too much drive on “innovation,” with nothing to show for it. At least Valve established itself as a lucrative storefront.

It’s mildly amusing how the talk of another delay has seeming killed the hype around GTA6 on the wider Internet.

I legitimately think Rockstar/T2 have backed themselves into a corner with this one - they’ve spent roughly the GDP of a small country developing this game, and if it underperforms they’re in the shits, especially if it doesn’t have the money printer that is Online on Day 1.

And honestly? GTA6 potentially flopping might be the better outcome, solely from the perspective of “hey, maybe billion dollar budgets and 10 year development cycles aren’t actually sustainable”

i dont know what people are expecting of this thing besides better graphics, worse story AND SOME LATINA GIRLBOSS. i dont think they cared enough to port rd2 animations and busywork

Even Duke Nukem Forever, as long as that took, didn’t crash the industry when that finally released. And that took 12 years.

I’m sure everybody at Rockstar Games is all hands on deck, working overtime and crunch to make sure nothing goes wrong.

If these consoles and PC parts continue to inflate in price, that’s another barrier for potential buyers unless they decide to sell at a larger loss.

It should be a better open world from a technical standpoint. GTA V was built for hard disk drives, and the original ran on Xbox 360 and PS3. Just like Skyrim. Setting aside the graphics, it should be possible to have a lot more NPCs and other complexity.

What would that complexity be used for? More scripted missions where if you FACE the wrong way, mission failed? I hope at least there'd be more interiors.

I finished replaying TLaD. All in all it was solid, I'd say. The atmosphere was great, I just wish Billy was fleshed out more. The plot could use a stronger antagonist and it doesn't help that he disappears for more than half of the game only to suddenly be reintroduced as a snitch. That being said, the final mission was a lot of fun, definitely one of my favorites in the whole series.

Anyway, the game was very depressing (much more so than the base game) in an interesting way. It's not like Johnny started in some glamorous spot in the beginning but in the end he really did lose pretty much everything that mattered to him and his world was left in ruins.

It was talked about earlier in this thread but I'd like to repeat the sentiment that GTA works best when the city is the star, and IV hits this target perfectly. The base game and the DLC's each have a distinct enough protagonist with a distinct enough layer of society they live in. The game does a great job showing that the city is full of so many characters and stories and events going on that cross with each other a lot, but it never revolves around just one "main character". I like that a lot.

Come on. Duke, iconic as he is, has never ever reached the popularity, hype, or profitability of GTA. Also, 12 years or not, it didn't cost more than a billion dollars to develop.

I always felt like TLaD is missing the first half of it's story. It seems to start it what should be the second act (The gangs former leader returning and how the downfall begins) but nope, all the preceding events are told to you after the fact... even though you are allegedly present for said events you don't see.

TLaD should have opened with Billy's accident and him getting sent down, hell I wouldn't be surprised if that was originally the plan but they were forced to cut it out.
