Okay, who (besides @Dom Cruise) is upset about GTA having a female protagonist?
Me. Because we all know they're almost certainly doing it for all the wrong reasons.

I want a badass femme fatale that can exude the same level of confidence and idolatry that 80's action heroes did. Basically I want the female version of that shot of Rambo in FBpt2 where he's mowing down poor sods with his M60 like it's going out of style, with an equivalent physique to match.
We won't get one; we're getting a narrative-approved, politically correct Mary Sue who will stick it to the neo-con man.

I want a game with a vision and direction that's brilliantly executed. What we'll get is a focus-tested, journalist-skill level certified mess. Or as I like to call it now, Saints Row 2022 with a high budget and bigger brand recognition.

10 years ago I would've been jumping for joy at the idea of a female protagonist for an EFLC expansion or Chinatown Wars type spin-off.
Now I don't want it anymore. If they can't do cool guys right anymore, what hope is there for them to do women right?

I think Roman, our favourite cousin, will face the might of the Latino Liberator, murdering him after it comes out on 'Shitter' (get it?) he has committed several historic sex crimes. A true #MeToo inspired murder.
I think Roman's the one who's canonically dead already.
My guess is if they do it, they'll do it to someone like Mori or Luis; womanizers who are oh-so toxic.

you also had tons of kids pissed off they were playing a black man.
True. My Mexican cousin outright refuses to play SA to this day because he doesn't "want to play as a jungle monkey... Can't I just have a sequel with Tommy instead?"

Your cousin is a very small minority who hates SA.

Your cousin is a very small minority who hates SA.
Yeah, I already stated that, Einstein.
I'm affirming that back in 03-04 when SA was in the rumormill to be just one city, either Los Santos (LA) or San Andreas (Frisco), a considerable amount of people were disappointed in the idea of playing a negro. To the point that if you go search on old fansites like TheGTAPlace or GTAGaming, you'll find some of their oldest mods were "White CJs".

Man, you're sperging minor details for a while in this thread.
Stop, for god's sake. And what's your obssesion with minorities?
This is the second time you mention the word. Some nigger tongued your anus or something?
How about you tongue my anus bitch ass nigga.

Thanks for stating the obvious dumb ass nigga. Get that ass banned motherfucker.

GTA III cops have always been so charming to me, even if they are the "weakest" of the 3D trilogy cops. They'd just roll up on your ass most likely running you over, hop out and proceed to throw hands with Claude yelling "A L L R I G H T D R O P D O W N", which was great. Next game in VC had spike strips, way more aggressive AI, the main characters from fuckin Miami Vice rolling up on you in a Cheetah, etc. See, GTAVI will never be able to replicate the great feelings I have with the original games.
They're the most committed to their jobs. Even though Liberty City is "the worst place in America," you can count on them to stop the biggest threat: YOU.

Am I the only one that thinks San Andreas is overrated, albeit for different reasons? It doesn't help that it's been milked to death since its launch.
Gameplay-wise it's unmatched.
Cast-wise I think it's up there with the best. I miss that bastard Toreno. James Woods killed it.
Story-wise... Still really good, but there are several weak points. SF and LV really get sloppy seconds compared to LS in missions and story development. They're no different in story length to Red/Bone County and are underutilized to their full potential, specially LV.

It being milked to death doesn't help, like you said.

You can tongue my anus along with Prophetic Spirit as you please.
Quit being a faggot by shitting up the thread, and quit being a literal faggot by asking strangers to tickle your bussy, gaylord nigger.

If anything, I'm more impressed with it playing it now than I was at launch. The scope of the game is unbelievable for 2004.

The story is badly paced and it gets super weird and meandering, but as a fun game to play, I find it hard to fault.

Aiming and driving has improved greatly.

That's my issue with SA: the world. There's so much dead space in between the cities with no defining landmarks to pinpoint where you are. I cannot count how many times I've gotten lost just driving inbetween San Fierro and Las Venturas.

I don't mean to undermine its feat, especially for a PS2 game. I think the best way to experience SA would be on a PS2 via a CRT.

I don't hate it; I just believe that its world design hasn't aged well.

You got lost in Bone County? Huh, first time I've heard that.
I've heard plenty of people say they found Red County annoying and getting lost from LS to SF though.
Somehow Flint County is always ignored. :(

That said, I agree. Bayside is literal dead space. What a waste.

I remembered this being a lot worse than it is, honestly.

It's probably just a matter of taste, but I kind of like the rural areas because it gives a pretty good sensation (at least by car) that you're actually traveling from one region to another, which is something even modern games often fail at.
