How did GTA Online become the runaway success it is now? I've heard of many IPs trying to go the MMO route only to fizzle out after a couple years.
Literal children and retards who fell in love with just buying new cars and griefing.

It's actually a fucking miracle that GTA Online took off after Heists. I remember everyone thought I was a fucking retard for playing it off and on the first year cause there wasn't anything to fucking do in the game.

Switching gears to Mafia: Definitive Edition. Yes, it earns its subtitle for "definitive edition." But anyway, the infamous racing mission on Classic difficulty. What a bitch, took me 40 minutes to complete. Quick tip: three cars would wipe out if you are not in first place. Use the "ram" feature to make quick, correct turns. Braking will fishtail you into a donut, these 30s era cars handle poorly. You can cut through the grass sections with "ram" to gain a quick boost.

Someone actually asked for it recently

Tl;dr: Meta didn't know what's happening read it as R* cancelled it years ago and didn't bother to tell Meta about that

Is it me or does Zuckerburg look FAKE in that image? Almost like it's AI generated.

Nearing the end of Mafia: Definitive Edition. How do I share my thoughts of it without having played the original game? It's definitely a methodical, "open world" crime game with flaws. I say "open world" loosely because the story is quite linear in design. You're a newly appointed mobster after taking two wise guys away from trouble. The story is told through a willing testimony in a diner as your way out of the "life."

It's your standard, drive here, shoot these guys, drive back with the occasional tailing or sneaking around. 1930s Lost Heaven looks gorgeous, especially the cars and women. The city feels populated with its mass population, countryside and collectibles to find. Driving is heavy and slippery; it's not uncommon to fishtail if you're not careful. You can even skip drives to destinations if you wish, but you'll miss out on character dialogue and story exposition.

Despite it being "open world," it doesn't encourage you to venture out during the campaign. There's a "free roam" section after the first mission if you want to finish collecting any collectibles. There's no mini-games, no economy (that I know of), no side quests. Just do what the boss says. For better and worse, it's like an interactive movie focused on its story. Shooting is substandard; you are often inaccurate with your shots. Makes sense in context, you're not an one man army. Time your shots carefully, but sometimes that won't work.

If you like mobster media, give it a try if you wish.

Thank you for not reading the full statement.

I've SEEN footage of the original Mafia with comparison to the Definitive Edition.

I'd say it is a definitive way to experience Mafia through a storytelling, technical, and gameplay perspective. Now, let me backtrack my original statement. I've played literal minutes of Mafia on PS2 before outright giving up on it. I remember how clunky and slow it was. To me, Mafia: DE is leagues more playable than that version. That comes with it running on the same engine as Mafia III, take that what you will.

"I didn't play the game but it's better"
No, I got you the first time, retard. That's why I said lmao.

It's not. It's a lazy reskin of Mafia III, including its godawful gameplay, that butchers the storytelling of the original game.
Btw, I actually played it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember this being mentioned in this thread: apparently, Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to cost $150 upon release, and may have cost Rockstar $2 billion to make.
I don't trust any of these unknown websites that pop up with these "rumors" on my social feeds tbqh

Rockstar would be retarded to charge that much when the last decade they made all of their money on microtransactions.

I also find it hard to believe they would have spent 2 Billion on GTA VI. GTA V, with marketing, cost 265 million. Even with the alleged restart of development, I can't see them possibly spending that much and taking *this* long to get it out.

Correct, it uses the same engine from Mafia III. Shooting was intentionally nerfed from Mafia III to make it in line with Tommy Angelo's lack of gun experience compared to Lincoln Clay. All of that I understand, but in practice, gun engagements are harder than they NEED to be. Collisions with driving leave a lot to be desired, practically everything is solid.

Btw, I actually played it.
What difficulty? I'm playing on Classic difficulty.

Niche Gamer isn't an unknown website. They've reported gaming news for years and are cited in other threads.

The info reported in question was apparently part of that huge leak that leaked gameplay footage and the like. It was from a leaked conversation between the devs.

Kinda missed opportunity to add time limited zombie survival mode instead the nostalgia bait over some playable GTAIV player that got off'd instantly during Trevor introduction. But I guess that'd add too much effort for today's R*. They simply add time-limited fetch quest for quick GTA$ and time-limited livery for a specific car instead.
