For some reason I decided to re-install GTA V. Booted Online and forgot they now do the weird over the top green storm/UFO thing for Halloween. I think I did this exact same thing last year so I guess I have a routine now :/

I've seen three articles pop up in a row that says it's now not being announced till Oct/Nov next year for a sping 2025 release, another saying it's being announced this month and then another saying it's being announced Spring 2024

I'm expecting a simple trailer. More like a teaser where the name revel as the main focus. Milk the fans into wanting more. But with the company's 25 anniversary maybe they'll deliver something special.

At least we have SOMETHING to actually anticipate. Of course, that first trailer will get memed and clickbaited to high heaven. I'm expecting a delay after the second trailer.
You know, even with everything going on with R*, GTA and the video game industry as a whole...
I'm still going to buy the next GTA. Hell, I may even preorder and buy a next gen console for it. I'm still a fan of GTA in spite of R*/T2 milking GTA Online. I just want a new experience. And I'm sure a few of you on this thread will do the same. Will I be disappointed? Time will tell. But, at least there's some closure.

Finally! after 10 years of silence and a leak from a slack channel we get an announcement that in 1 month we will get an official teaser that next year they will announce a release delay that they hope for a 2025 announcement for a 2026 release date to a game that should have came out years ago.
Seriously though, I expect a Rockstar logo, the Vice City logo then 2024 release date with 80's music. No introduction to any characters or gameplay just logos.

I'm anticipating a teaser trailer akin to GTA V's first trailer. This will be good for shareholders as concrete information about the next GTA will bring lots of traffic and investment for T2.

Yeah I assume we will get various establishing shots of the city. Some hints at gameplay. Probably a voiceover. It will probably be a minute or so teaser that will keep the youtubers speculating for the next 12 months.

So the day before a T2 investor call, an article is released leaking the announcement. Then a tweet from Sam Houser himself confirming a trailer for the next interation in December. This is all embarrassingly hamfisted and suggests to me Herr Strauss came down from up-on-high and told them to shit or get off the pot because he needs to assure investors this game is coming.
What an anticlimactic way to get confirmation. No style or finesse at all. Can't say I'm surprised.

I'm wondering how R* will handle GTA Online after the next GTA. Likely how they treated RDO since they don't want to compete with one another. I'm expecting a battle pass, subscription service and paid DLC. Notice how they said they're "celebrating their 25th anniversary." Itself, it's a spectacular way to pay homage to your fans and products for sticking around so long. But, given how R* handled their own anniversaries recently, it leaves me cynical at best.
