Always got the vibe that this guy was more than a little off but holy shit the narcissism in this video about how the newest GTA game is totally all about him and his life
He's still trying to be relevant? Holy shit this guy's 15 minutes were up in 2015- wtf can he possibly talk about that he hasn't said a million times already?
Prison pasta, casing joints, and 'critiquing' movie heists cannot possibly stay fresh and totally-not-stale for over 10 years.
I also find it funny how despite being an 80s criminal, he has all the contemporary progressive beliefs that the status-quo champions. I'm no criminal but I know enough goons in Jersey and NYC who wouldn't be caught dead saying they don't mind fags, trannies, beaners, niggers, and communists.
would’ve gave her credit about her point with how “lesser” the mainline island felt compared to III’s Liberty City. Ocean Beach does feel like 80s Miami with the neon lights, palm trees, beach line and massive mall nearby. Downtown in comparison looks like copy and pasted basic buildings etched together.
She is right the game is massively overrated though.
It's the shortest entry on consoles/PC by a mile (yeah, I know why) and relies heavily on the 80s nostalgia wave it pioneered to carry it to anyone's top 3 GTAs.
It's a great game, but III and SA were better games. What VC has is aesthetics.
And Tommy fucking Vercetti
She doesn’t like how Tommy didn’t have “growth.”
- I don't think she realized this game takes place over a few months if not weeks. How much growth can an avowed criminal who's been left for dead then told to kick up to the useless boss back north have?
Tony Montana's story takes place over years and he has fuck-all growth as well. He didn't need it nor want it; he had focus and a goal.
- This game is from a time before every story had to have a three-part arc structure where the protagonist MUST go on a journey of self-discovery. You're not here to help Tommy find himself, you're here to kill Haitians and get rich.
His personality fits that GTA action criminal fantasy.
I disagree to an minor extent. Tommy didn't "fit" in a fantasy, he created it. Every protagonist before him was essentially a gun for hire, some having personal agencies of their own but nothing like Tommy who aspired to take over Vice City rather than settle for being an enforcer/collector/fixer.
Any more sympathetic, he’d feel out of place with that sandbox crime formula GTA brings to the table.
Maybe now you understand why so many people have a bone to pick with Niko and sympathies.
Tommy doesn't want anyone's sympathy either- his one moment of personal emotion is telling Kelly he has a soft spot for printing due to his old man's job.
She barely mention how Vice City is meant to be a homage to the 80s and its media like Miami Vice and Scarface.
You really expect women, even shut-ins like this one, to be in tune with 80s pop culture?
Last point, which Vice City did she play? The original or the Definitive Edition?
I don't think either changes the story nor characters outside of Tommy looking Indian in the defective edition.
