I don't think the anime scene was even a thing in the US until the 90s. Imagine how hard it would have been for someone in the 80s to get a hold of a tape back then. Also, I'd assume most of the fans from back then were extreme outcasts, but even then, they probably were nothing compared to what it is now. Nowadays it's become this quirky little faggot thing that makes anyone sane who sees it from a mile away puke.

Sorry if I derail the thread with my opinion, merely a rant, anyway.
One thing I never understood about Hassan was that house he bought. I seen enough people say "Being a socialist doesn't mean you have to live poor". True, but why buy a house from the same rich people you despise? Why not hire some independent architect that just graduated college and a team of workers instead to build it for you? ( I'm sure he could have got off a bit cheaper too, since those that sell properties always pump up the price so they can get a cheesy profit) That way, you could give people an opportunity and show that you care about individuals rather than just buying it from a landlord.

If he was with 'the people', he would have demolished that house and built an affordable multi-unit low-rise apartment on it no matter how much the neighbors screeched.
