The fact that YouTube at one point shadowbanned Sam Hyde videos and replaced them with Ethan Klein is just proof that we should have paid more attention to him in his prime days.

Now that he’s back, it almost seems like a good breath fresh of air after doing his celebrity boxing match. YouTube still is a shell of itself, but him taunting Hasan is probably the best entertainment I’ve seen from him in years. If anything, it’s more proof that Sam still somewhat has the versatility that he had back from his [adult swim] days before his show was canceled.

With Sam's resurgence as of late, you can feel a sense of excitement that's been gone from YouTube for a long time. Wacky and edgy comedy is back in the sun, at least for a little while, and it's pretty nice. YouTube feels fun in a way it hasn't been in a quite a while, and it's pretty sweet. I'm so glad Idubbbz's hitpiece doc against Sam backfired so spectacularly that it exposed Sam to a wider audience and gave him a second wind.

Hasan can also do all this and never has to actually engage his critics in an argument. He can just handwave all opposition with a "X is a mentally ill Nazi" or "I won't engage with Y because I don't platform fascists" or "Z is a Nazi dogwhistler" and his fanbase of teenage social misfits eat it up. It really is the easiest fucking thing ever.
