In what planet is this bitch living where reddit isn't the most leftist shithole after tumblr?
Most likely a typical failson job at daddy's company or one of his friends' doing fucking nothing but showing up once in a while. Also, no way in hell he ever had a "sales" job
Not even that, Heinlein was a libertarian hence the government in ST was completely hands-off and you could do whatever you wanted even if you weren't a citizen. If you wanted to classify the novel as anything, "Spartan" or just "militaristic" would be a more apt description
There was no interpretation it was literally a joke, consider there wasn't even power armor suits which was one of the key innovations from the novel, Heinlein basically created to concept of power armor and everybody has been building on top of that ever since. But I wholeheartedly disagree with the movies dog shit ass backwards interpretation of the book though
I doubt that, some senators nowadays fake military service by getting a position that will never see actual combat but here we're talking about the right to vote. In ST the federal service wasn't strictly military, in fact the book said 95% of participants did the equivalent of civil service today. The point is that you're willing to do something to earn the right to vote so that you don't take it for granted. Don't care? cool, you don't have to vote, you can do anything you want.though it would probably fail in the real world because those in power would absolutely find a way to circumvent such a system of "service guaranteeing citizenship" AKA voting rights.
It makes it easy to be a streamer for sure, but live off that? dunno, I see there's a lot of competition because like I said every kid wants in on this. I seen plenty of desperate tiktokers putting stickers with their handle and QR all over the city, threw a bottle at one of these little fuckers who wanted to stick one on my car. Same with soundcloud rappers and instathots, the whole market seems beyond oversaturated, I recall the OF metrics saying most of the ewhores there make next to no money even if they actually put some effort on it, only like 0.001% actually makes real money. I've heard similar numbers about influencers in general but I could be wrong.Seriously built in clipping tools to streaming setups as well as being able to set when you want videos to go live on youtube have made making a living off content creation so easy nowadays.
In all seriousness how many viewers does a streamer need to make $100k a year nowadays? just give me an aprox. number. You just need to earn a normal wage.
The first mistake is being millionaires and whining about their job; money is a contentious issue, especially in today's climate. But when you try to throw a pity party about how hard you have it, when you can afford decadent shit like eating sushi off a naked underage Japanese virgin, the proles who aren't a part of your flock aren't going to buy your sermon. Then you look at what they do that has made them millions of dollars (sitting on their ass at their computer); mechanics who bust their knuckles 10+ hours a day, an air condition repairmen who literally fucking works in constant heat, and even fast food workers who slave away for indignant assholes over a hot grill and deep fryer. You ask those people "Can you sit on your ass, eat snacks, and give your hot takes for $2,000,000 a year?" FUCK YES WE CAN!i would almost sympathize with streamers if they understood that compared to regular jobs, this is fucking nothing to them. all you have to do is sit there, eat takeout, mumble a few words, talk about how society is crumbling, read donations for a couple of hours. oh no asmon, please tell me about how hard it is while wiping your tears away with $100 bills. if this is some gay attempt at making me feel bad for them, it's not working
Kill redditors. Behead redditors. Roundhouse kick a redditor into the concrete. Slam dunk a redditor baby into the trashcan. Crucify filthy redditors. Defecate in redditors food. Launch redditors into the sun. Stir fry redditors in a wok. Toss redditors into active volcanoes. Urinate into a redditors gas tank. Judo throw redditors into a wood chipper. Twist redditor heads off. Report redditors to the IRS. Karate chop redditors in half. Curb stomp pregnant redditors.
then he'll go into a rant on how onlyfans is real work

While I don't disagree, the difference is that he has a significant safety net. A lot of workers in real jobs don't have that.A rare instance where I kinda agree with succesful streamers. Setting aside how soul crushing some jobs can be, streaming is just another one. Many streamer's success depends on giving the audience what it wants. Success then is derived from consistently providing something similar to last time. And that is fine as long as you enjoy providing that. But every streamer will run i to the point where they don't enjoy providing a specific thing and it's a hard to balance to manage.
I remember people saying about Sargon that all he would have to do is talk about news articles and collect the money. But there came a time when he didn't have the passion for it anymore and it killed him to do it.
I remember Rekieta taking the opposite view saying "all you need to do is talk and money comes rolling out" and he forgot that he did need to give his audience what they wanted and is now coping with the decline.
With that said, the biggest fucking mistake is shattering the illusion. Streamers are pagliaci the clown, krusty the clown, they're in showbiz and nobody really cares to know their clown is depressed inside. Don't deal with that on stream. The fact that people don't care about it is one of the reasons why it genuinely can be a draining job. But people tiling, roofing, waiting tables so that they can cool off and watch a stream at night don't want to hear about why their fun hour man thinks he is working a harder job. It doesn't even matter if it's true or false. You're paid for the illusions and entertainment you provide.
