I'm not going to start shitting on Hazbin/Helluva for something it has yet to genuinely tackle. However if my memory serves me I do recall Vivzie stating that the show would be focusing more on the structural culture of Heaven and the inhabitants of its hierarchy over focusing on specific individual angels from "real world lore", she even stated that Lucifer/Lilith would be the extent of the portrayal of specific angel characters.Weirdly enough I think Chilling Adventures of Sabrina side this better. Weirdly enough out of the four seasons we never see God or Heaven leaving it unclear what God or heaven is post to be like in the show. We only other see three angels out of the entire of the show. The first two appear in season 2 and well there trying to kill are main characters. Remmber are characters serve the devil who is showing to not be a nice guy.
You know I have to say one show that actually portrayed Heaven and God in a decent light surprisely had to be Lucifer of all shows. I mean compare to Supernatural they had God and Heaven has ultimately good things.
I know just comparing how Heaven and God are portrayed in these four shows that deal heavily with Hell is intresting to be honset
Of course she also said that Heavenly characters would be more 'otherworldly/floating ball with circles around it' in appearance and less human. Yet the first heaven characters we've see are flying babies and animals. Only god knows if she retconned herself.
Imo I feel like the show is going to lean towards showcasing Heaven as not being as perfect as everyone outside of it assumes. Not a case of Heaven is just Hell but that it has just as many issues as Earth and Hell (though I assume not having to deal with overpopulation).
I would say that I hope the show does not take some easy stereotype of portraying Heaven, but I have to ask how many unique ways are there left to portray it that have not be done elsewhere? There are only so many ways to portray an evil Heaven, good Heaven or a Heaven that is just like Earth but with a white sky.
Perhaps Heaven is also dealing with an overpopulation crisis with its inhabitants trying to escape to Hell just to avoid Heaven's own version of the yearly cleansing. Though that would change the whole plot of the show away from rehabilitating sinners to finding a new home for sinners and heavenly human souls?
