I just finally watched the "Moxxie troons out" episode with the lowest of expectations largely from comments here. It was actually pretty good although I came with low expectations so that might have contributed. First it was an episode where they do an actual hit, so plus for that.

Second, while Moxxie trooned into the most insufferable stereotype, he wasn't treated as brave and beautiful at all but completely ostracized and mocked by actual girls. Millie even got some time as something other than Moxxie's accessory.

I'm actually surprised troons aren't offended by it. The Mean GIrls were way meaner to troon Moxxie than TERFs are. They did everything but call him a man, so maybe that's it.
The problem is Vivzie, who wants it to be a dramatic, character-driven work of art that also balances comedic elements flawlessly ala BoJack Horseman and she gets raging assmad on Twitter if anyone implies it's anything but.
Creators just shouldn't be on Twitter. If they have any latent idiocy it goes on blast. There's just something about that format and that platform that literally retards anyone who uses it.

A user on pixiv that goes by the name of WarioAnon, who drew a pic of viv earlier in this thread has a pretty accurate comic on the average guy fandom of this series.

I'm starting to think if Loona didn't exist this side show wouldn't be half as popular as it is.

I got to thinking about something,

In pictures of Barbie Wire as a kid, she just has that lil black skull-thing on her forehead, but in the camp episode where we see her as an adult, there's an "x" over it.
(This may be nothing as there's a poster of The Amazing Imp Twins where she also has the "x")

Vaggie and Alistor also have x's on them, and it's been theorized that it shows a part of the body that was damaged when the person died. Not sure if cannon or just fans gibbering.

So if Barbie has an x...

I like the Blitz/Loona relationship and am glad that it's one of the few things in the show that doesn't involve some weird sex thing. I was worried they were going to go there.

The way Viv portrays relationships comes across extremely incel-y whether it's hetero or gay, tbh.

Does she actually have first hand experience of being in a healthy relationship? Because her couples portrayal reeks of "this is what really I want, but never had", the sort of over the top lovey dovey + hyper sexual shit that appeals to hormonal teenagers that have a flowery perception of love and sex until they get a bit of experience.
Let me answer that question with a picture:

did he troon out because he had a small dick lmao

Honestly I feel this show is going downhill either because of a new writer since the writers between seasons is different and the fact that Viv seems to be surrounded by yes-man and quite frankly probably fires or ignores people giving her constructive criticism.
For sure on both of them. For most of the first season, the episodes were written by both Viv and Brandon, with episode 7 of that season being written by Viv and starting the trend of having one writer per episode. It's also the episode where the writing noticeably starts to to fall flat. (Yes, I know. People love that episode but that's only because of the House of Asmodeus musical number, and the ending scene with Blitzø and Stolas. It's still a mediocre mess with wonky pacing and the start of the "uwufication" of Stolas as he acts like a school girl going out on his first date with his crush instead of a powerful demon prince.)

The episodes from then on switch between Viv and Alan being the writer, and neither of them are really good. I want to say Brandon is the better writer of the three, but it's hard to say since he hasn't written an episode yet (I have no idea why. Maybe he's busy or something). It probably would matter much anyway. Since even if his writing was top-tier, he'd still be writing a shit story directed by Viv.

You know what, seeing people like season 1 just makes me feel a little vindicated that I seriously started losing steam on the show during the ranch episode, when I saw the Moxxie plot was just that one episode of Futurama but in hell.
Yeah it was definitely “Where the buggalo roam” except replacing the native bits with gay drama.

No wonder she hit the age where the eggs JUST start to spoil in the carton with nothing to show for it....and still writes her show with the mindset of a 16 year old and while still acting like one....how'd negative xp put it? oh yeah: Thirty years old but acts like she's sixteen!

Season 1 Episode 6 was the only good episode. 1 through five of S1 were good only because they led up to 6. It all fell apart after that. Really it was never together to begin with, they just had a one hit wonder with 6 and now we all have to watch a decade of immortal mediocrity unfold.

I like all of the others up to that, too, but Truth Seekers is definitely the best of the series.

Honestly, if I had to rank the episodes from best to worst, it would probably go like this:
1. Truth Seekers
2. Harvest Moon Festival
3. Spring Broken
4. Ozzie's
5. Murder Family
6. Loo Loo Land
7. Pilot
(We're past the point of quality now, these episodes are purely black marks. It's more of a case of which one I hated the least.)
8. Seeing Stars
9. Western Energy
10. Oops
11. Unhappy Campers
12. Exes and Oohs
13. The Circus
14. C.H.E.R.U.B (I hope I never see that jittery faggot Loopty Goopty ever again)
15. Queen Bee (fuck this episode)

it ahd the one thing western animation is seriously lacking these days, decent fight and action scenes.
I liked the crazy, frenetic animation style of the big fight in that.

I might even like it better than the one in Lackadaisy, even though that was a lot more meticulous and on-model, and even had period appropriate weapons and vehicles.
