Hazbin Hotel / Helluva Boss Thread - Now a Griefing Thread

Honestly with how Helluva is, the only copium I have is that Viv does that dumb shit for Helluva because she was probably a bit more restricted on Hazbin. But of course rate me for that since this is my most optimistic take on why Helluva became a gay fest.

Viv is just another walking example of how, when worldbuilding, it's really important to have someone with you going, "no, that's stupid, don't do that" so things actually make sense and don't go as horrifically off the rails as her vision of hell did.

The more this show goes on, the more you realize how much of a contradictory mess its writing is. I feel like The Circus in particular fucked a lot of things up.

I stopped watching before the Circus, but when I gave it a curious little watch since it was a new season, I just gave up on the show. The whole thing is just Viv retconning like...twenty different things to go like "No no no, this cheating and prostitution-based relationship between a prince of hell and an imp assassin is totally uwu wholesome, because Stolas is actually the same age as Blitzo and it was love at first sight since they were kids! I'm 30 and I still believe in first loves, lol! Stella was always a maniac, and Stolas was always the nice well adjusted one with a shitty dad, despite them both being aristocratic figures in literal hell."
Whoever who said this show felt like a weepy fanfic of what it was supposed to be had it right on the money, like damn.

I usually take a sick glee over seeing someone's downfall on the farms. But with Viv its rather disheartening to see this thread go from full on supporting Viv and what she was doing when Hazbin dropped, to now realizing that she is just a slightly more talented Tumblrite squandering her opportunity to make something special precisely because Hazbin and Helluva could have been something amazing.

I know Hazbin hasn't dropped yet and its almost certainly going to be of higher quality then Helluva, but the end all be all is writing and Helluva has really dropped the ball so hard into Tumblrville that its hard to have any faith that Hazbin has somehow been spared.

I'll admit, a part of me was foolishly huffing the copium that Vivienne had somehow evolved past her old writing mishaps (hyperfocusing on daddy issues, a tendency to focus on the wrong characters, etc.). But that hopium was just that - hopium. She still is a shit writer - she's just a shit writer with an entire animation studio behind her now.

Still better than Raye Rodriguez/High Guardian Spice, though.

Now now, that's pretty generous. It's more accurate to say they're based on the general idea of multiple layers based on sins that happens to come from Dante. Even though only one ring actually takes sinners.
