I noticed that Ozzy mentioned that he has hated mammon since hell began implying that while the prince of knowledge (Stolas) is hereditary the other princes of hell have been around from the start. (I still don't like that Stolas is the same age as blitz and the fact other princes don't follow this rule makes it even stranger)

Its been a season since weve seen Verosika, a little more than a season since the agents, and a season and a half since we last saw the cherubs. Can we get more of them (esp the latter two that are both above ground as well as proper antagonists to ALL the IMP members), rather than more boring onderground bodyguard missions and introducing antagonists for side characters that only started actually mattering the previous episode??
Im already getting sick of this man, not only is this the second episode in a row where the rest of the IMP are irrelevant, but even Blitz is barely relevant in this one, is this man spiritually gonna be stolas 2? He's already gotten more development, depth and relationships with other characters than Millie and Loona combined and it looks like his story doesn't end here either

And why is vivzie so far almost incapable of writing relevant male characters who aren't
a. (Menace) twink prostitutes who are secretly an angsty traumatised softie inside
b. The twinks doormat/feral protector or
c. cartoonishly evil

Also fizz being a woobie gay baby wrecked by anxiety sounded quite funny to me with it coming out of alex brightmans beetlejuice voice but im not sure that was the intention.
Some parts felt so overdramatic I genuinely couldn't tell if it was intentionally ridiculous or if this writing just has the subtlety of the koolaid man

Just reminding everyone that the original concept of the show is about an organization of underworld assassins' who do earth hits. Something that hasn't happened in a LONG time and I am pretty sure there are far more episodes where the main setting is hell than episodes that even show earth as a secondary setting.

Also with what I said with Fizz being upset/woobie coming off wayyy funnier than it's probably supposed to, same goes with stolas tbh.
You introduce this powerful aristocrat creepy extreme pervert who makes the main lowest class character sleep with him to keep using a book, continuing to openly cheat on his wife while he has a teen daughter, and now I'm supposed to regularly feel bad for him when he's exaggeratedly hurt because you pulled a million copouts to make him an uncompelling gay baby who was actually pretty much completely innocent all along and nothing is his fault?
This makes his sad moments to me so overdramatic that they become almost funny again.

(Also the people genuinely getting horny over these characters having gay interactions scare me extra bc these are among the least sexy character designs in existence. I want to say Vivzie made them look like that on purpose so sexual interactios stay funny, but we all ALREADY know she's just a major furry. My eyes could have really done without that scene in 2.1)

I've never watched the series, waiting for a friend to finish with his schooling.
This just doesn't seem like something I'd want to view on my own, so I'm waiting for him to join me on the potential cringe.

I'm pretty sure some of the pitch Bible got posted on here and yeah, the show was supposed to be completely different. Like, Blitzø was supposed to have a target that got away and he's obsessed with, and that is never mentioned in the show (and probably never will be mentioned). Also, that is was supposed to be shot like a mockumentary? Clearly, Viv had no idea what she wanted this spin-off to be. She only planned three of the episodes initially of season 1; them being Loo Loo Land, Harvest Moon, and Truth Seekers. Everything else was planned out while the season was being worked on, which isn't the best thing to do if you want to write a cohesive storyline.

Honestly, she should have just waited to release Helluva Boss after Hazbin Hotel came out. That way she could finalize the premise of Helluva Boss and set in stone what she wanted to happen and remove the flukes. If she wanted to tide her fans over while they waited, maybe make an anthology series (either comic or animated) that could be one offs, but could explain the lore of the other rings in hell? Or maybe, finish Zoophobia, which she promised to her patrons. Just, something else. Anything else would have been better than this....right?

I feel like this episode and the episode before it easily couldve been 1 episode tbh, this one felt very unimportant to the main characters, if they're even considered main characters anymore. The clown thing was a more interesting concept than a basic kidnapping tho.

I also feel like them finally making up because of getting kidnapped the previous ep was a bit too cliche- wait, wasnt that already how moxie and blitz bonded during truth seekers??

Idk, maybe instead they could've let them talk it out in some other way already related to the pageant, and instead of a big escape sequence, they could've had blitz help/join his act as a way to make it up to him? Or maybe that mixed with some sorta escape? Since, yknow, he was a clown, something the clown focused epsiode didnt call a lot of attention to.

What cautious optimism I had about this project, where I could appreciate what was trying to be done, with the 2005 Deviantart aesthetics has slowly been curdling into disappointment. The whole gag of Hazbin, as seen in the pilot, which has a vibe that has been lacking in it's continuation, is that the main character strives to be syrupy sweet in a world of jerks and absolute literal monsters. Now the shows do these afterschool special moments like representation of deaf imp children done unironically. Boy, did they lose the plot hard on the concepts for these shows that made them interesting, the whole enterprise has been swerving towards "slightly edgier Stephen Universe" territory.

There's probably no actual reason for the exception, it's just Vivz needed to make them childhood friends to make the fujoshit fantasy work.

And in the general thread tradition of "this would be a better idea," I rather like the idea of these roles being like the Dread Pirate Roberts with one demon lord taking over the role after the other. So for instance Mammon could have been Ozzy a few centuries ago.

I think it's pretty notable that all the best episodes of S1 focused on the actual job I.M.P. does.

Literally every Earth episode is among the best. The only exception is really Ozzie's, and even that is somewhat marred by it being the opening into descending into total nonstop fujoshit every episode.

That is why I brought it up in the first place. I was entertained with those episodes (for the most part) and am bored out of mind with all these gay fujoshit melodramas in hell.

I could honestly say the same for Hazbin, because the concept of reforming sinners in hell with a comedic twist seemed like a great premise. But that seems to be something we are not getting based on everything we have heard from Hazbin's production and its looking more and more like its going to be another Helluva boss with gay melodrama bullshit and that is slightly depressing.
