Dante Alighieri, CS Lewis, John Milton, I'll be surprised if Vivzie has read anything from any of those authors.
If she did, Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss wouldn't be as they are now.

Also saw this image related to her and I thought it was funny. Please, Viv, let Octavia rip Blitzo or Stolas a new one. Especially, Stolas.
Everytime I think of Stolas and Blitzo's relationship came to be, I realize how creepy it is. The fact Blitzo just came up on Stolas after breaking into his house and Stolas was fine with it just gives you a feeling of unease. I think Viv realized this and wrote that they were childhood friends as a copout to avoid questions.

Then again, Stolas is arguably the worst part about HB so who knows.

Even calling them childhood friends is a stretch as Paimon paid Blitzo's dad to have Blitzo play with Stolas for the day.

Is this even a toxic relationship if there was no relationship to begin with?

The "relationship" isn't just toxic, it's basically a demon core with no screwdriver.

It's funny you mention that because until season 2 we really had no idea how Stolas and Blitzø first met. All we had was the aftermath of Blitzø stealing the book after their first fucking. And I would argue that was all we really needed. I don't think anyone was really wondering (or at least I wasn't) how Blitzø knew about the book, and I certainly didn't care what led to them getting into bed. Buy because these questions just needed to be answered for some reason, we got a very boring episode of romance tropes. And I refuse to call this a backstory episode, because there is hardly any backstory for either of these characters. It's just one long unnecessary scene of them meeting that then passes 20 years to another unnecessary scene of them meeting again. Wanted to see Stolas growing up in royalty, his relationship with Stella, and raising Octavia from a baby to her current age? Or how about Blitzø being raised in the circus, his dynamic with his family, and the many screw ups he did in his life that led to him running an assassination business? Well, you're not going to get either, cause watching two children having one paid play date together, or an uncomfortable scene of one of those previous characters sexually seducing the other after not seeing each other for over 20 years is just so much better.

Took the words right out of my mouth with these. I was so confused on how these were "backstories". All of it was just a cheap way to justify the relationship since apparently Stolas has known Blitz since childhood and had an infatuation of him so much - despite only knowing him for probably not even half a day during their youth - that he STILL managed to remember him 2 1/2 decades later. It doesn't add up.

We get nothing about them. We don't see what Stolas had to go through in his youth. Show us how he learned to cope with the situation (before the pill/substance abuse). Did he constantly think of Blitzo? Did he talk to someone about it? We don't know! You give us this lousy, cheap, Wattpad-esque excuse of a backstory and y'all couldn't even bother to do more with it? Couldn't even bother to go more in depth with their youth and how they saw the world beforehand? How did Stella react to the fact her mere existence is to just serve as the fertilizer to continue the heir? Nope, we don't get that. Forget going in-depth, continue making her cartoonishly evil, waiter!

Man, we didn't even see what Blitz did during his childhood and teen years before the eventual accident. It doesn't need to be revealing at all, too. Just small tidbits of things and let the audience pick up the pieces and puzzle it from there.

But even with a backstory, I feel all what they would do is show compilations of Stolas dealing with the "born evil" Stella throughout his childhood and adolesent years just to remind how EVIL and BAD she is so you can sympathize with him over and over again. It was like that in the Season 2 trailer, the song shown at the LVL UP event. He hasn't learned and he will never learn.

There could've been so much potential with the backstories. We would've been able to see more sides of Stolas and Stella, heck, we would've been able to sympathize with the BOTH of them since they're in a loveless, forced marriage that none of them asked to be in. But that potential's long gone. S2E1 was just filler at this point.

Again, Viv is a fucking yaoifag. She doesn't give a shit about any of that, only the pointless melodrama and "romance". Everyone in this thread needs to stop thinking of Viv as an actual writer, she is at best a mediocre fanfiction writer making gay smut.

Every time she is FORCED to not write gay smut she just lazily goes through the motions by writing a bunch of generic nonsensical crap (see season 1 of Hazbin Hotel).

whatever happened between the Hazbin pilot + the first few episodes of Helluva and where we are now has completely changed her from a mediocre writer with potential to a hopeless degenerate fanfiction writer.

That episode wasnt to answer questions, it was to "detoxify" stolitz as hard as possible. Note how almost every "problmatic" issue with them was solved.

1-Age gap: Everyone assumed Stolas was +999 years old and wise enough to manipulate bltizo but now Stolas and blitz are same age, no one can complain.

2-Stolas fucking a random imp: Turns out Blitzo wasnt a random imp, but (until shown otherwise) the ONLY PERSON HE EVER LIKED, meaning Stolas is actually a loyal person with one exception. Stolas would've never cheated with another person, only blitzo. This also means Stolas would never trade blitzo for another imp.

3-The reason Stolas cheats at all: We find out that 1-Stolas only had sex with blitzo cause he was drunk after stella shit on him, completely removing any potential responsibility. 2-This is the first time Stella points out divorce and Stolas is loving it. Stolas isnt divorcing out of spite, he's divorcing because blitzo "showed him what happiness is like" ("happiness" here being "good yaoi sex").

4-Stella was a victim: Regardless if you thing stella was retconned or not, the reveal that she was born evil and always hated Stolas only serves to make him more sympathetic and justified in cheating. This removed all depth and nuance for both characters.

But what gets me is that there is still a bias towards Stolas. As posted here, Vivzie would like twitter posts of people defending stolas and calling him a saint. No character in the cast, not even blitzo, gets this much uwu-fication, not even blitzo.

This makes me believe the popular theory going out there that Octavia calling out Stolas will actually make him break up with Blitzo, but vivzie will portray this as a "painful sacrifice" from his part, choosing his daughter happiness over his own. It's also BOUND to happen because vivzie will milk this yaoi angst for multiple seasons and get away with it.

How does a show about demons and hell come off so pussified? Why isn't Stolas allowed to be a jackass as a lord of hell? Oh wait, he doesn't have the Viv's jilted ex voice like Mammon and Adam, so of course he's innocent.

That I have yet to know. For a show set in hell, everything has the same morals as of earth. Or, a least, really backward morals that contradict each other. Mammon being no different from your out-of-reality CEO's apparently a worse crime than being an assassin. It's why I never hate Mammon because he was doing what he was made to do, be a sin. Yet, Asmodeus is miffed that Mammon's a prick... in a place where everyone's technically a prick.

I honestly do not know what this show's telling anymore. Are bad things only acceptable if it's the protagonists doing them? Why give a pass to the main characters being an assassination company but we draw the line at lousy workplace abuse? It's not even abuse-abuse. I mean, yeah, Fizzarolli was used as a sex toy without consent but, isn't that expected? Literally in the beginning of the episode, Mammon said he "might" make a sex toy out of anyone. Was younger Fizzarolli that blind that he didn't hear that specific part?

Why's it a shocker for the audience that a demon, a Deadly Sin at that, from the Greed ring would be... greedy and... desperate for money no matter who they affect? It's like forgetting to read the fine print but the fine print's in 45px on the paper. It just... doesn't add up.

And I'm still rooting for Adam, too. Literally no one in Hazbin Hotel showed any sort of actual progress. No, Sir Pentious sacrificing himself doesn't count cause that is the lousiest way to get into Heaven. We don't even know what he did that GOT him into hell, come on. Sucks they (possibly) killed him off cause how DARE he try to rid the evil who clearly have not shown to improve themselves whatsoever. God, that hotel had no purpose other than being background filler. What a waste of an idea and Adam didn't deserve to be killed off by the one-note "i'm so silly and crazy" Japanese-American cyclops.

I'm almost tempted to say, "because the whole thing is written by a woman." But that's awfully sexist, even for me.

Not that things would be better if it was written by a man. But I'm curious at what the helliverse would be like if it was written by a man. It certainly wouldn't be better, but what would it have been like?

Maybe look at some of the Scott Alexander stuff? "The Goddess of Everything Else" kind of gives off "similar vibes", but maybe that's just the Youtube animation I watched. UNSONG is long and I don't want to read it. I know there's hell in it. Maybe not "on screen" though.

Can't reply to LucasSomething, but attempting to "detoxify" the ship, just made the ship problematic and toxic in other areas. How did they meet? Apparently, paid child slavery that only lasted for one day, so there's not even a meaniful connection there. Stolas getting drunk to remove agency of him fucking Blitzø the first time? Well, now that means he technically got sexually assaulted by Blitzø. And I wonder how many people out there were really upset by the implied age gap. People love Asmodeus and Fizz together, and they supposedly have a huge age gap between them. Unless of course, Viv also wants to say say that Asmodeus is also in his 30s, but I doubt she would make a move that stupid...I think.

And making Stella this dumb one-dimensional bitch kind of does the opposite of making Stolas sympathetic. You're telling me that she was a decent person towards her daughter? Well, I guess we'll never really know since the two of them barely acknowledge one another. But it seriously took Stolas getting fucked by an imp he met once during his childhood for him to want to divorce Stella? And then, only to back out of it as he continues to fuck said imp as his wife devolves into a crazy screaming banshee? While the daughter is still living there? My dude, where are your fucking priorities? Why are you making your life harder than it has to be?

Or how about Blitzø being raised in the circus, his dynamic with his family, and the many screw ups he did in his life that led to him running an assassination business?
That part is the one that made sense, though. That was his success arc. Running an assassination business is actually pretty cool as things that imps would do go. Even Striker was somewhat impressed by that.

I know Stella is supposed to be a villain, but I have more sympathy for her than I do for Stolas.

Long live the queen.
On one side you have a delusional cheating gay owl who mistakes his paid butt slave for an actual relationship. On the other you have a pissed off mom who hates the delusional gay cheating owl.

I wonder why everyone is sympathetic for Stella and not Stolas?

I mean, men who were married to women, and decided years into the marriage that they were actually gay the whole time, and then leaving their wives to pork another man, was just a precursor to autogynephilic men who abandon their wives and children to troon out.

There's nothing really new under the sun, Vivzie fetishizes the worst aspects of the fag community that were commonplace even before transgenderism became big.
