Honestly I think Viv’s work can actually be good when she is restricted. The first season of Helluva Boss worked because Brandon held her back, and Hazbin is a functional show because Amazon probably tard wrangles her

Does anyone else find it weird that Stella and Stolas are both Victorian in outfit but Octavia is a random emo? Seems like lazy design instead of trying to make a more unique take on Victorian emo.
This seems like a bad idea. The concept works as a short, as it reminds me of those Pixar shorts, but when you try to make that into a series it kills any good to be found in it.

Considering this show unironically fails the bechdel test, i'm gonna say yes. Loona and Millie interact so little that this fandom genuinely has no idea what they think of each other, and it's argueable that Millie literally didnt know Loona is blitzo's daughter.
(If millie is joking does that mean she's racist?)
Reminder that it took until the short about Milie and her trans sister for 2 female character to 1-1 talk about something that isnt a man, and i wouldnt count that since it was filler written someone new unrelated.
Hazbin isnt like that cause someone kept vivzie in check but even there you can feel it. Carmilla's entire motivation is protecting her daughters yet Vivzie didnt give them a real conversation. If a character defined by motherhood doesnt get it, no way Stella and ocvatia will talk (about something that isnt stolas).

Unrelated to the convo, but I realized something while rewatching some episodes.
In S2E4, Blitzo refused to say the dreaded hard-R because he cant "really say that anymore", yet a few minutes later, he nearly didn't hesitate to blow a child's brain into bits with his gun just because they annoyed him.
I think that was an example of how conflicted the show is with what's acceptable or not. Not hesitating to kill children's okay but saying a slur's a no-no in Hell, apparently. This not even another "viv is a terrible writer" complaint, it's just something I was scratching my brain over. Again, one heck of a sanitized Hell to be in where killing a child's less of an offense than saying a slur, lol.

Could it be that having a central premise as a bedrock to build the story off of is extremely helpful to keep the narrative elements consistent and cohesive, as well as streamlining the writing process? You don't say!

The ironic thing about this is that I feel like this is something that would possibly happen, at least from what I’ve seen. Viv is so predictable as a fujo she’ll literally do anything to rush things to the “uwu gay romance” type bullshit.
The trailer that released recently does seem to indicate something like this is bound to happen, or maybe something dumber. Hazbin felt rushed to hell and I’d only imagine Helluva will be rushed to get straight to the faggotry.

Not really sanitized per say, it's just that the show's writers have screwed priorities when it comes to morality. A seared conscience, if you will.
Seems like Vivzie doesn't even know what morality is.

I mentioned here on my first comment on the thread that this episode highlights how the show has no edge anymore.
The joke about Blitzo refusing to say retarded is that he said it very slowly in the pilot but it's been so long that it's "too offensive" now, but it doesnt the intended way because the cowardice is still clear. The other joke is that blitzo hesitated to kill a child, while in the pilot they killed one and chopped him to pieces while quipping about it.
Also note how Blitzo has, hilariously, not "murdered" anyone in season 2. The humans in E2 and crimsom's goons was self defense, and Fizz stalker received multiple warnings until he pulled a weapon. Even their one I.M.P. target in S2E5 that blitzo wanted to kill died via random firework while he held barb.
This is the guy that was killing a bunch of innocent humans just to win a bet against verosika. And the trailer tease their next target will be ghosts.
What i'm saying is that it's not confusing, Blitzo and his hell are a lot more sanitized and advertiser friendly now.

The thing that irks me about that is you could make it into a funny bit. Something like "the HR (Heavenly Resources) department has a list of words we're no longer allowed to say or else we'll be smoted" and Blitzo gets struck by lightning for trying to say the n-word.

Even the fanmade mugs on Etsy are less expensive than this, good Lord. And that shipping price, ugh. I always avoid paying for things whose shipping price is the same or even HIGHER than the subtotal.
If I wanna buy a Hazbin Hotel mug, I'd rather buy the knockoffs/fanmade ones on Etsy instead. At least they're not asking for high shipping prices.
