Is it that hard to respect a religion, Vivzie? Is it that hard to be respectful with the source material you're using?
It doesn't even have to be respectful to the source to be interesting. I myself have never read the Mortal Instruments series but to my understanding its worldbuilding, its lore, its everything is a direct and intentional affront to Christianity. It doesn't sound like something I would like because YA is trash, but it was fairly popular when it came out.

SMT is one of the greatest series ever made and their portrayal of Abrahamic myth and God is the source of a ridiculous amount of petty seethe from Christians.

William Blake made up his own Gnostic/Christian/Schizophrenia-inspired mythology wherein God (Urizen) is a cruel and short-sighted demiurge and that shit's endlessly fascinating.

Personally, I don't think Vivz even needed to create a detailed depiction of Hell. All she needed was to make Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends mixed with The Screwtape Letters and a little bit of Fawlty Towers.

Someone please recommend me any shows/franchises/movies that interpret God/Heaven/Hell in an interesting interpretation.
Despite it being an Adam Sandler movie from the 2000s, Little Nicky seemed to have an interesting interpretation of Hell. Nicky's father was not the OG Devil but his son (Grandpa Lucifer is played by Rodney Dangerfield) and Nicky's brothers leaving Hell causes the entrance to freeze and prevent evil souls from enters, which weakens their dad. Also you can enjoy jokes that would be frowned upon today.

can someone explain to me why viv is obsessed with broadway actors being in this? what does it even add to the show? I know its a musical but actors outside of broadway can sing too. what makes them different?
She's a theater kid. The middle ground between nerds and jocks and mostly hated by both sides.

I know lilith is not real, lilith is actually jewish mysticism not what chrisitans believe
I don't think Lilith is even mysticism. It's more of a folk tale that got way to much attention over the years.

There's a reason I was so enthralled with Vivziepop's worldbuilding. It was a different way of viewing Hell/Heaven and the people that live there. But all in the end, you're in a wave of disappointment when you realize Heaven in Vivzie's world is just Hell but nicer. Heaven is no different from Hell minus the debauchery, death, all of that jank. You realize Heaven in her world feels so... empty. Heaven is less shown than Hell is shown! What do we know about how Hell looks? Nothing! We barely know squat and everything else is just said from her streams or Twitter posts. I've never seen such an underperformed world. Woman, you had YEARS to develop this. YEARS. Just to BARELY show any of it.

I can't help but compare and contrast to Dante Alighieri again.

Even though Inferno is far more memorable than Purgatorio or Paradiso, he still took the time to write a lengthy description of each.

I am still upset. I shouldn't be but I am. Someone please recommend me any shows/franchises/movies that interpret God/Heaven/Hell in an interesting interpretation. Please show me any of them that's actually developed and explained and didn't scrap it aside for some shoehorned Heaven vs Hell subplot. I beg.

The only few I can think of is the Teamfourstar cartoon series where Cell goes to hell....maybe get audiobooks of the Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis or (again) the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri.

This is a great breakdown.

And honestly the melodramatic playground romance just isn't a good plot point considering the shows nature, even if it was properly executed. The show is about silly and edgy violent hellspawn bounty hunters, and the intended target audience is adults. I feel like Vivienne/the writers got lost in the sauce and forgot who their audience is, or the writers wrote themselves in circles and didn't know where to go with it. The plot has been lost.

The lost plot is is really odd because Season 1 brought up many interesting plot points that I thought would have more impact on the show. What about when the humans discovered that demons and hell are actually real, and this being against Hell's code or whatever you'd like to call it? This would have been an infinitely more interesting major plot point than the romance bullshit.
That's just the way it goes. Every character that was introduced in season 1 had potential to be complex and interesting to watch. I wasn't the biggest fan of the direction the show was going in the last few episodes of that season, but there was definitely a proper set-up for this dramatic turn. Then season 2 came along, and any potential that was there immediately went down the drain. All the more important and interesting parts of the world and lore was forgotten about, retcon, or not explained well. Any antagonist that may had made a good point was pushed aside, because you can't have the audience even remotely agreeing with them on anything they stand for. Any supposed "good" characters' flaws were immediately squashed out, or shown to be not as bad. Because the audience is too brain dead (at least to Viv...and probably there are some brain dead individualsin the fandom) to realize which characters you're supposed to be rooting for. Take any character from the first season (minus the Queen Bee episode), and compare them to their second season counterpart. Even the ones that aren't shown as much I'm the first season. It's amazing how much of a contrast there is.
The entire thing with HH/HB is it's missed potential.
Vivienne Medrano fascinates me for two related reasons. Firstly, she’s an unstoppable fount of incredible, fertile ideas.
1724335706522.png
A person who is deathly afraid of animals is trapped in a world full of talking ones, and has to make the most of her situation.
1724335842455.png
The heir of Hell tries to rehabilitate sinners with the "help" of one of her most powerful underlings.
1724335945097.png
Murder-for-hire demon assassins that wreak havoc on Earth.

These are writing prompts that could spawn thousands of works of fiction, and any one of them could be great. Secondly, though, she doesn’t seem to know what’s good about her own work. This is remarkable to me. I find it difficult to accept the fact that somebody could be so successful an artist for so long and not understand her own strengths and weaknesses, but here we are.

This is what "captivated" me initially a few pages ago on how maybe Zoophobia could have been interesting. If worked straight, it would have been rather "new", or maybe at least as a film format.

Video makes a jab at Viv’s Beelzebub design at 2:50
I stopped watching after 4 minutes.
I kept thinking "just shut the fuck up" every few seconds. I hate his generic bri'ish YouTube rant voice. I don't want to defend "millennial characters," but can you please be less vapid and have a point? The same goes for his Millennial Writing video. I hate his misuse of the word "millennial." I bet Shredded Nerd was born between 1981-1996. He uses fucking chudjak memes. This guy hates millennials, but zoomer memes are okay? I really don't want to be that guy who says you criticize talent or lack thereof unless you have talent yourself, but when you talk all high-and-mighty, all I can say is "Okay, retard. Here's all the resources and manpower used in the entertainment industry. Let's see you try."

You do raise a good point, there. Like, why soyjak? Have 'jak memes just become the "in" way to grandstand over the plebs online these days? I feel a lot of the people who try to grandstand about media would hold more weight if they held some sort of talent themselves. It's like Yahtzee, in a way. He talks all high and mighty about games, yet his own game came out and people crapped on it.

Since this went off topic, it would be funny if one of the characters needed to do one big revelation, only for this to occur:

Has anyone ever heard of "A little piece of heaven", a project that was abandoned, but it wanted to include Archangels and God? I've learned that's where the original God design came from. Have no idea what was it about, but knowing how the story goes, it wouldn't be too serious, and musical themed.

like that in both her series, Viv has gotteb to a point where she despises the characters the people love (Adam, Millie) and out of spite got rid of them (Millie is ruined/unhappy, Adam is dead and won't come back, despite being human)

This is not an adult show. This is a "I'm 15 and this is what I think is edgy/,adult; swearing and sex, which mom won't let me talk about/joke about"

I mean to be fair, Adam is a villain and she probably doesn’t have anything planned for him.

She also has shown to change her mind all the damn time and Adam coming back is more likely than Millie getting character development that doesn’t revolve around another person.

>nothing planned for Adam
>the guy whose entire life got ruined over and over again by the Morningstars
>the guy who granted Lilith shelter for unknown reasons
>the guy who probably has a ton of descendants and angels who knew him in person clamoring for revenge
>the guy whose death would've made him a martyr with ease
That guy? She really picked that biblical figure, made him a one-off figure, then killed him off because she was too retarded to figure out he'd be a great source of drama?

God, I hate californian women.

Making Gabriel a female (or an androgynous male) may have been edgy twenty years ago, but now it's just meh.

It reminds me of the John Constantine comics and the movie adaptation, where a woman played him (I think?). LoL.

Chadam and Stacyella should be KF's spirit animals. And sometimes I wonder - did she picked on Adam, THAT ADAM for being "I will shit on the first man who ever lived to say I hate men from the start!!!"? Or she didn't think about that? You just made me think about it, IDK.
I just hope Shiffty gets turned into a mush of black organs in revenge by Lute or some rando. IDK, I don't see her surviving so I think the wish may be granted.

Viv may as well double down and say god was actually black and his name was yakub and then make a full episode about his backstory and explain he left heaven to go and spread his tricknology to every corner of Earth

Honestly, not the biggest fan of basically all the characters looking the same to each other, but I can't say that I don't see it not fitting in the show's style.

There's also rule 34 of these characters, especially with this version of God...which I'm not surprised. Nothing surprises me when it comes to rule 34 anymore...

This is partly why I’m so annoyed she’s not bringing him back. You can always count on Viv to waste characters and concepts with the most potential.
