Made even worse by the cringe "hotel staff" posts (read: role-playing as Charlie and Husk) addressing the situation. I'm surprised not more of a fuss has been made about it, as other content creators have gotten dragged through the mud for less. But I guess since Viv's a Woke Ally™, her misdeeds are just glossed over.

I guess the Grammys have at least some dignity left after all.

That, and the playbill package was like $79.99. So it’s like “dude, I already got the rest of my shitty merch. Where’s my glorified video game manual?” “Lol Alastor wanted to use a printing press and Nifty got stuck for like a year, we’re sowwy”

Some copyright infringement is criminal. For instance, leaking a screener like they send to critics can be.

The single most important copyright right is the right of first publication and once it's gone, it's gone. That's the most likely kind of infringement to be prosecuted as criminal even if there is no profit motive.

The only books tied to media that are that expensive are usually art books that take you through the entire development process, are hundreds of pages long with countless pieces of concept art and scrapped ideas, and are actually neat if you're a fan of that particular series even if I would never buy one for full price. This is a playbill which usually are purely basic info on the cast and the characters they play, so basically something that can easily be entirely put together in Microsoft Word within an hour.

Best hope the trading cards and keychains make up for that price. Oh, and early access to the first two episodes that got leaked before the early access people could even watch it.

I actually wonder how much money they’re actually making off their official merch and how many people are aware that you can get most of the exact same items on Chinese marketplaces for less than half the price (at least the pins on AliExpress are like 80 cents each and the shipment is free in most cases).
