You know, I've been watching reviews of the episode Mastermind, and it brought up a couple of new realizations for me:
First off, Stolas thought he was going to die at the trial. Which obviously not, because there were like no angelic weapons (unless Viv forgot that's the only way to kill demon royalty). But Stolas still was willing to die for Blitzø, without any thought of what was going to happen to his daughter because of it. Father of the year everyone.
And I know the fandom loves to say "Well what was Stolas supposed to do? Let Blitzø die?" I'm not saying that's what he should have done. What I'm saying is maybe instead of just randomly breaking out into a musical number, he could, you know, EXPLAIN. Explain what's been happening for the last...year, I'm guessing. But because these characters are allergic to talking, we can't have that.
And then of course people will try to excuse it by saying, "But the trial was rigged. Blitzø even said that Satan wasn't going to listen." If that was the case, wouldn't Satan have just...killed Blitzø right then? Or the entirety of IMP? It shouldn't matter what Andrealphus or Stolas say then, if he already saw the party guilty. If Satan is so unfair, and it seemed like the majority of the courtroom didn't even want to be there in the first place, why even have the trial? Who was going to complain? Andrealphus and Bee? Bro, they didn't do shit in that trial. Vassagio? He only cares about Stolas here. There was really no reason to have a trial, especially if the show wanted to...well show (lol) how unfair Hell is to imps.
