You know, I've been watching reviews of the episode Mastermind, and it brought up a couple of new realizations for me:

First off, Stolas thought he was going to die at the trial. Which obviously not, because there were like no angelic weapons (unless Viv forgot that's the only way to kill demon royalty). But Stolas still was willing to die for Blitzø, without any thought of what was going to happen to his daughter because of it. Father of the year everyone.

And I know the fandom loves to say "Well what was Stolas supposed to do? Let Blitzø die?" I'm not saying that's what he should have done. What I'm saying is maybe instead of just randomly breaking out into a musical number, he could, you know, EXPLAIN. Explain what's been happening for the last...year, I'm guessing. But because these characters are allergic to talking, we can't have that.

And then of course people will try to excuse it by saying, "But the trial was rigged. Blitzø even said that Satan wasn't going to listen." If that was the case, wouldn't Satan have just...killed Blitzø right then? Or the entirety of IMP? It shouldn't matter what Andrealphus or Stolas say then, if he already saw the party guilty. If Satan is so unfair, and it seemed like the majority of the courtroom didn't even want to be there in the first place, why even have the trial? Who was going to complain? Andrealphus and Bee? Bro, they didn't do shit in that trial. Vassagio? He only cares about Stolas here. There was really no reason to have a trial, especially if the show wanted to...well show (lol) how unfair Hell is to imps.

Yeah I realized that watching it. He only cares about Blitzo like it's his only trait now (unless the Vassago triangle is still gonna happen) why doesn't he teleport Blitzo? He can literally make portals, or his cape can transport people why doesn't he come in and wrap his cloak around Blitzo, and makes a portal for the rest if the gang and they could live out there in space as fugatives? Didn't he send him and his daughter to fucking space for his gay lie song? As he does control space I don't think the other sins can really do much about that as they don't have space powers. Why give them all these amazing abilities to just forget them? Do they only activate when they sing their gay little songs?

The writing is so stupid and bad. It bends over backwards to ignore Stolas's behavior and his parenting lets list them all shall we?

He forgets the only event in 5000 years he promised to his young impressionable daughter.

Talks sexually to the homewreaker in front of his daughter and calls his teenage daughter hot.

Let's the homewreaker talk sexually of his daughter (Blitzo talks about having her sit on his face)

He takes his daughter to her childhood nightmare place, and promises it's to keep their mind off the fight. Proceeds to flirt with the homewreaker and ignores her.

Lies to her face that he'll never leave her.

Illegally gives his book to his gay sex slave who he views as inferior.

Allows his wife to beat him when she's insignificant and has no power over him. As she's just a birthing machine.

Rapes someone he views as his first and only friend. (Coherence is rape in this case because he can't ever not consent as he fears losing his buissness and his "partner" who can kill him like an ant)

Calls the imps basically slurs as well as saying their insignificant, and assaults them as well.

He calls his not even yet ex-wife a bitch I front of his daughter.

He becomes an orbiter for his gay lover and loses all his responsibilities to just orbit around him.

Texts his gay lover first instead of his daughter when hes in the hospital.

He's a classist.

He makes a manipulative crybaby song to people who hate his gay lover.

Tries to manipulates his gay lover by making out with a dude we never see again.

He manipulates everyone around him so that he can be the center of attention, and makes everything about himself even when he betrays his daughter.

He willingly is going to kill himself for his gay lover which in turn would leave his daughter he cares so much about it with his "abuser".

Tries to manipulate his daughter again for the third time (if not more in her life time, but that's all we see)

Never apologizes to his daughter.

Makes it all about him instead of his daughter who he's suppose to protect and care oh so much about.

Makes everything about him.

So for whatever reason my mind decided to think about these two shows again which lead me to find out about the leaks about S2 of Hazbin and after reading the last 100 or so pages of this thread man I'm thankful that I didn't even bother to follow S2 of Helluva Boss, seriously who the fuck even asked for the comedy spin-off to be turned into this gay soap opera bullshit? What really frustrates me about Viv is that she has interesting ideas but decides to squander them with the most lame plots and dialogue possible, specially in HB which at this point has completely abandoned any sort of resemblance to a show about demonic hitmen.

And the worst part? All these characters and useless drama could still be incorporated into the original premise if they actually fucking tried. Imagine something like this: since we are supposed to follow Blitzo and his business it would make sense that the more hits IMP does the more money and good word of mouth comes to them which then would allow for Blitz to expand the size of the enterprise by now offering different kind of services, this is where all the secondary characters enter since now the company has new roles that need to be filled such as:
  • Verosika, wanting to prove that she's more than a pretty face decides to join IMP as their secretary, also because she and Blitz still have feelings for each other (fuck Stolitz).
  • Stolas, after being thrown out of his castle and position for being a gigantic faggot has not option but to become IMP's lawyer helping them find bullshit loopholes that allows them to keep operating without pissing off the sins. Also in this version he and Blitz become friends after finding common ground as deadbeat fathers.
  • Fizz, (after Blitzo fixes their relationship) joins as the PR guy mostly there to control damage when the main trio inevitably fucks up, mostly spends his time chatting with his boyfriend much to Blitz annoyance.
Bam there, at least with this way you can put all the drama as Blitz dealing with the anthics of his employees while also giving a sense of progress to the series. Moxxie is stressing becuase of the finances? perfect time to introduce a character from the greed ring for that (more worldbuilding), Loona and Octavia? the former wanting to be more independent and the latter searching to distract herself from the failure that is her father form a detective duo working as freelancers for IMP (develops their friendship). Hell, you can even tackle on the class divide issue because now you have all these different kind of demons working together under the same roof and it also allows for Blitzo to show that he can do more than ruin people's life by using his company to fix all the mistakes he made in the past, have the ending being a mockumentary (callback to the pitch) with Blitz now as the CEO of IMP Corp. retelling all the hardships he had to go to be where he is and there you have it. I know it's not perfect, but for sure way better that two fags singing about how much they want to fuck each other in the ass.

Oh by the way, today marks the one year anniversary of the release of season 1 of Hazbin, would have been cool to receive updates on S2 but knowing Viv and how she changes animators as much as she changes idea with regards to her own lore, I would say that it's still quite far away.

Ya know, this was bugging me. Okay, so we know only guy who has holy weapons that can hurt a Goetia is Striker. Soooo...why did Blitz acted shocked when he heard that Stolas was hurt when he was taken by Striker AND how could Loonas bite even hurt Andre?

How about make Striker an "enemy of my enemy becomes my friend" in this situation? That'd be good development.

I mean, that would prob be a thing in say S1. But by S2? Pffft...guy got reduced to a hypocrite and joke.

Maybe if it shows Blitzo actually having enough of Stolas's annoying antics (even if he were not a royal demon and just a common imp, I'd still find him irritating), Striker at Full Moon comes up and becomes the voice in his head that says "hey man you can stop working with that crappy royal and be my partner with your 3 other friends." Blitzo will consider it because he finally has found someone who has something in common with him: an imp with a successful business and is violent. Only that, Striker actually has self-control and healthy boundaries ("Why does it always have to be a sex thing?" I agree with Striker).

However, I don't really like this focus on the fictional hellverse because Helluva Boss was supposed to be about human assassinations.

I'm shocked a fandom that is branded as "woke" is defending a tone-deaf rape joke. I guess being horny takes down all political barriers and principles a person has.

This is the same kind of logic a zoophile would use: "no no no, you see, from MY point of view, the dog was clearly consenting, so it's okay!"

A sex club in hell called conesnt?...you know I'm aware mango sticky rice has gotten...pretty much everything about heaven and hell completely backwards, but if there's one place in all existence where that concept should fall on deaf ears and have no meaning to the point where it's treated like it's a dirty word, it is hell.

How do you get pretty much every idea of hell wrong? And even within the confines of your own logic? And don't give me that "I'm trying to have sinners and demons retake hell and its concept to make it their own." To paraphrase fantastic mr. Fox; that's just weak writing! You wrote a bad show Vivian!

Just like in real life, the Philantropists that finance social chaos aren't called "The League of Evil Chaotic Men". Duuuuh! They are fighting for good! Look at ADL! "They fight for good". SPLC, Southern Povertry Law Center. What the fuck is that? Or Bankers who finance people to protest. They don't state their interest out right, they do it through "good intentions"!

"2 Corinthians 11:14 NIV - And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." - This applies well with a club called "CONSENT". It's a perfect tone here.

You know a choice that'd make more sense? Leraje. Leraje has been described as a demon who creates conflict and makes love with partners then tosses them away. Blitzo and his crew are sowing conflict in both hell and the human world. They'd need a professional like Leraje to help them do it right. In fact, I think the reason why they look so lousy doing their thing is because they lack the proper guidance!
I approve of that change. Thankfully no fujocrap shit, and shows an interesting enemy for Heaven to face.

I'm gonna admit something, the rape joke with Sir pentious was probably the only time that the show gave me a chuckle mostly because I was impressed that it was an attempt at genuine comedy, yeah the joke was still "lol sex" but there was a set up, punchline and delivery that wasn't repeated after that I believe.

I think what some of you fail to take into account is that Viv methods of storytelling are very eastern. What I mean with this is that in eastern writing, the author is more concerned with transmitting emotions over concrete concise information, in this case the redditor is right, in Viv's mind this doesn't undermines Angel's plot because you are not supposed to feel bad that Sirpen got raped because he's a comic relief while Angel's sexual abuse is meant to make you feel sad because he's the sad twink.
This doesn't excuse anything really, but I feel this is the closest I have come to understand Viv's writing, quite literally feelings over facts.

Okay cool. Why in the seven flying fucks is the whole Caste System just NOW became relevant again?
My guess is because it’s Inauguration Day, but everything about connecting that to the pointless caste system would be retarded. Still, I’m waiting for the day Vivzie puts an Orange Man demon/sinner in one of her shows. I don’t know know high or low the chances of her doing that are, but it’s not impossible.

I just had a thought. Why was it Stolas who was supporting IMP? It makes not much sense. Stolas is described as pacifistic to all.
Maybe now, but in the pilot he was pretty murderous and wanted a global environmental catastrophe to bring more sinners to Hell.

She's said she doesn't like doing real life things, although people like Hitler and Epstein have been mentioned. That's supposedly the reason Baxter didn't officially die in the Titanic although it seems obvious that's how he died.

Vivz says lots of shit, though, and often goes back on it.

You know what would be a good way to get the "rising above what a powerful world tries to tell you are" message across? Have the show play out like @Saxxon's post where the finale is Blitzo being the CEO of IMP Corp. and he recapped all the hardship he had to go through to the top. But that sounds too much what those icky conservatives advocate and Vivzie's core audience does not want to hear that.

She can just pull what The Boys and South Park did by making an established character be a Trump stand in (Likely Mammon, Moxxie's dad, or Vox)

So after Stolas asks Blitzø for his phone to call his daughter, this is what we see in the next scene:
Octavia_sees_her_phone_ringing.png
On the phone it says "Dad (Calling from Shitty Boyfriend's Phone)"

I have...several questions here. Why is Blitzø's contact in Octavia's phone? When was that put in there? How many times have Stolas called from Blitzø's phone to Octavia so that she made the contact have "Dad" on it? Will any of these questions that should be answered...be answered at any time in the goddamn show?

This doesn't actually seem that hard to understand. Obviously her shitty dad has repeatedly called her from Blitzo's phone, not caring what a jerk it makes him look like. When would Blitzo ever call Octavia?

It still made no sense. It's like Viv did a random roulette wheel pick. I know it's supposed to be a silly demon show and it doesn't have to make too much sense, but some things still HAVE to connect, even a little bit, if she wants to draw people, especially autists who actually care about the demons being used.

On the flip side, he's a demon, so what do we expect, he's supposed to be bad. However, it still feels like a very random pick. Like, just, why?
