I get the feeling a lot of people didn't like the ending. But Vivziepop fans are hiding behind the usual "Well what do you expect they're demons" excuse that always seems to become irrelevant when it's back to "Aww look how sad Blitzo is"
I think even on Twitter people are going "Wow, this was some mean spirited shit, the fuck"

People really forget how dark this show used to be. Rewatch the pilot or any of the episodes of Season 1 when Brandon was the lead writer. There's an entire episode where IMP is encouraging an old man to commit suicide. This short wouldn't have been so out of place back in season 1. It's just really out of place now because the show has changed to be a melodrama musical where you're supposed to be on the side of the protagonists.

I think even on Twitter people are going "Wow, this was some mean spirited shit, the fuck"
I read a comment that called it "edgy and mean for the shake of it." The pilot now seems like a long time ago.

This is all we got on the client, which again really worsens when you make Helluva Boss into a genuine drama and have it be set in the same universe where angels are genuinely worried about a demonic uprising.

As someone said above, if he was a secret human trafficker or paedophile - it may have been a payoff. But no, Mr. Rogers that looks like Ned Flanders is just there to be killed, by someone who doesn't deserve - probably as a manner to show that in the end, we are cheering for people who are evil.

I like that, to remind dumbfucks in general that these are hellspawn and not people you want at your side. I would love to see them try someone like a priest or someone who has knowledge of Hell next, and is prepared for an assassination attempt and "shoots back".

Well, what is it that they want? They are demons and they do wrong things? It is a shame to see a good person who didn't deserve to die, true. Yet I think this solidifies them as creatures from hell who are there to kill. Call it anti-heroes or perhaps even anti-villains.

Think would be funnier if they ran into him.

I guess people either forgot about the Pilot or just assume each of the IMPs targets is usually a scumbag...if you dont count the weeb girl...and the mexican guy....wait..

The guy freaking out is a little odd as an ending gag not because of how long it lingers, but rather due to how he was faced with a literal demon in the worst disguise ever and treated him like a normal (but troubled) youth earlier. Dog people are a lot less freaky I think, but maybe that's part of the joke.
This thing in general feels like them trying to capture the original vibes this thing actually got popular for in the first place but not quite getting there. I think I already said that earlier though.

C.H.E.R.U.B. would make a good antagonistic force. They have a bone to pick with I.M.P., know their true nature and have nothing to lose. They would be better prepared after their first trip. And they don't even need to kill I.M.P. to save Earth, just fuck with their ability to travel back and forth.

I.M.P. should have way more enemies than they do, thinking about it. I can't imagine every soul that arrives in Hell has a "welp, shit happens" mentality, especially if their death was particularly gruesome. I'm surprised nobody has tried to take revenge on I.M.P. just out of spite.

IMO it's not as simple as "but they evil, they kill people" because it's not funny here. The old human deaths were funny cause they had this dark absurdism to them, it keeps winking at the audience how it's not realistic at all. The humans in this show are dumb cartoon characters that die in funny ways. The chupacabra short is written by vivzie and you feel it by seeing how the entire episode is random bullshit killing everyone and spanish swearing.

I don't think the humour of this short was like the pilot / season 1. It feels like an accidental parody of what someone thinks the old humor was. Target is subverted -> gory -> funny?

This short has 2 main gags which is 1-The target wasn't actually evil and 2-The target got scared by loona but then it's followed by unironic trauma, tragedy and shock value. The guy rightfully is scared but it panics Loona who shoots him by accident and he screams in pain. The guy didn't need to die. We didn't need to see his brain bashed for 10 seconds (what is this, family guy?). It didn't have to end in awkward silence (vivzie would never). It's both sad and cynical instead of zany and unashamed, to it just looks overly edgy and means spirited.

I was actually expecting the twist to be a different type of accident. I thought mr Wriggler would accept Loona and she convinces Blitzo to spare him, then he thanks them and walks away, only to trip on the ground and somehow break his neck, followed by loona facepalming and blitzo yelling a quip like "are you fucking serious?" before credits roll.

Ye, but the cherubs have been reduced to a joke that somehow suck harder than Team Rocket, even after they palled up with the Delta Green rejects (I refuse to call em MiB knock offs), these three still couldnt score a win.

True, but at least they know now that trying to face I.M.P. head-on is a bad idea. They could be smarter about it and try to target the team when they are apart. Even in the rematch they knew to target Blitzo, it's only because of Loona jumping on Collin and Blitzo's plot armor that he survives.

Of course this requires a writer who actually wants to turn theminto antagonists, so yeah.

I'm seeing some explanations that one of the reasons Mr. Rogers freaked out when he saw Loona in wolf mode is probably because she looks really fucked up in person. And what we see, the curvy werewolf lady, is just a trick of the artstyle. While that's unlikely to be the case, one thing I really have to praise HH/HB for is that they established a long time ago that demons don't really look like colorful imps and animal people. All the strong ones have a really scary true form that they take when they need to show out.

Even the angels have weird alien forms with lots of eyes. I like that trope a lot, and I hope to see more of it going forward.

>"There's nothing wrong with being a transphobe."
>proceeds to shit on Mr Rogers of all people and call him a transphobe
This is even more hilarious because Mr. Rogers could actually be considered progressive for his time. I'd even say that was a healthy kind of wokeness and not whatever Viv and many wokies today promote.

I knew it was going to be a gender and leftist politics thing in the end. When I was looking at Episode 3 with Verosika and all the couples at the beach, gay and straight, I was actually happy because it just portrayed them as people and not just "da politicdata inclusion da evil chrischuds da evil straight people da evil rich people." Just human beings having fun and being together and happy like everyone. And now I realize it was because Viv was not the one writing Season 1.

While the twist ending was predictable the fact that there was an actual sweet conversation and Loona even getting some character development just to go fuck you and die good hearted straight man!
What's to expect? If you're a woman in Viv's show or if you're not her favorite fag, then you get no development. Helluva Boss is a weird show - it manages to be both feminist and sexist. It has a lot of female/effeminate characters, but then, it doesn't develop the female characters. OR, Viv sees being violent and heavy-handed as "character development "

I’ve also seen the argument that you can’t even blame the guy that hard for freaking out when he sees Loona’s hellhound form. Because to us she’s just some cute furbait, but in the context of this universe he just saw a girl turn into a werewolf from Hell. That would be horrifying to…most people.
We cannot blame him, of course! Humans have the instinct to be wary of stuff that somewhat resembles them but looks off. Like a bipedal, human-sized thing? That's going to set alarm bells in anyone. Also woth a dog's face and fur? That's Appalachian cryptid material. Never underestimate an attacking dog because they tend to aim for the throat. Blow that up to the size and stance of a human and give it the sentience, strength, and combaf skill of which while keeping the dog instincts and I'm getting the hell out of there.

Loona just looks cute because she's in a cartoon. The picture used just looks badass because it's a painted fanart. Put that thing in reality and mark my words, you will get the guy's reaction.

I think it was something about blah blah inclusion again. Like, "oh no just because Loona is a different species and therefore looks ugly to the straight, white, middle-aged male, the guy reacts in fear, therefore he's a racist, bigoted asshole who is hypocritical when he cares for children and people while preaching inclusion."

I get the feeling a lot of people didn't like the ending. But Vivziepop fans are hiding behind the usual "Well what do you expect they're demons" excuse that always seems to become irrelevant when it's back to "Aww look how sad Blitzo is"
And that's why we don't like the shows direction. It suddenly turned into a sadboi cryfest of fags with a toxic relationship with every single individual they meet. Like, what are we supposed to do now? Feel sad because Stolas and Blitzo aren't fucking anymore or laugh at the funny demon assassins trying to fight with the funny evil humans who wronged the other funny evil humans? Hell, evil human vs evil human who hired the funny demon as revenge would make more sense because he'll is the perfect place for these sorts of individuals - their toxicity and badness makes their lives hell for eternity and they're stuck with each other in the environment they dragged themselves into. Viv should really hire some philosophers and theologians. She should also consult the internet sources and ask people for help. She would also get to interact with her audience more beyond bitching about whatever.

I would love to see them try someone like a priest or someone who has knowledge of Hell next, and is prepared for an assassination attempt and "shoots back".
This is good. Even if it's pagan cultists or witches, I'm OK because those people could be portrayed as making dealings with other demons and angels even to defend themselves or purge demons that move to Earth. Priest or pagan, this would be really good Season 2 material.

If I would write the show:

- I'd make Season 1 the beginning of the business and Ep 7 is where they go "HOLY SHIT IT IS A SUCCESS!" It's more light-hearted and chaotic because of course, it's the beginning.

- Season 2 is where they start to go on a downward spiral because IMP's quirks, Stolas's faggotry, and overall lack of skill are getting in the way. Mr. Rogers guy is actually nice and they still kill him. This leads to the next episode with the knowledgeable person who is ready to beat up IMP because the nice, chill (not toxic) Christian family of Mr. Rogers guy is convinced a demon did the work somehow. IMP only narrowly beats the opponent without even killing him because he has sufficient skill! Blitzo soon finds the root of the issue and closes the business for a while and looks for a better partner. Now sex jokes incoming and this is where Ozzie's comes in. Since demons are depraved, even Goetias come there. So, Blitzo tries to hook up with multiple Goetias, gets tired, then tries again in a different setting per Asmodeus's advice, and meets up with Leraje, who instantly rejects the sex and decides to see the skills of IMP by giving a sample random human target and soon realizes they are retarded on the clock and sternly tells them to fix the shit and offers to provide them with the skills and weaponry. Blitzo, Loona, Millie, and Moxxie are met with harsh words and discipline and realize if they want to prove to everyone they are not just bottom-feeder imps, they gotta lock in and do the job properly.

- Season 3 shows the angels more. Now, CHERUBS are getting more serious. Things are harder and harder for Blitzo as he dives deeper and deeper into the shady dealings of humans and demons. Now, they are more skilled and dangerous as their opponents. But now, there comes the biggest bad of all: DHORKS. Here, Stella and Andy start to realize something is up and train Via to be strong, too, so they allow her to interact with IMP and they grow to respect them for their strength. Stolas still cries like a bitch, going to the Blitzo hate paties and starts moaning and crying all day. This secretly annoys the commoners because "YOU ARE A NOBLE WHO THINKS YOU ARE BETTER THAN US AND YOU DO THIS? FUCK YOU!" Blitzo is there secretly and trauma hits because he's been an imp and has been trampled always, so drama comes in because it's also healthy to show strong people being vulnerable. Via, now matured, also sits with Blitzo, but tells him to leave the petty, immature exes, move on, be the better man with the successful business and merit.

- Now, season 4 after season 3 showcases IMP's progress more. DHORKS returns and is now ready to capture Stolas as a sample to prove demons are real because DHORKS is greedy. Why? Because a group of powerful-enough commoner demons - the succubi, possessors, reptiles, and hellhounds with the help of some other imps and Mammon (because Mammon is a greedy asshole who only cares about money and no one can be rid of a sin in hell) has had enough and wanted to show the Goetias they, too can be strong. Blitzo now has to be mature and set aside the failed relationship beef with Stolas to restore balance to hell per Leraje's request. Trauma from the Blitzo hate party kicks in as a tucked-away inferiority complex. Argument with Leraje ensues until Leraje tells Blitzo to relax because they're now friends (without Stolas's stupid shit) and that it's time to put the broken relationship behind and get on the job. After the battle, Stolas loses his position after that because everyone finds out he has been a retard, therefore showing hard work can beat the gifted. Via takes his place as the strong independent girl she is with the support of her mom and uncle because those two have been the only ones with the balls to teach her properly. Via then lends support to IMP. Stolas cries like a bitch. Here, DHORKS is the big bad, so this is final season. Montage of the demons living their lives with Blitzo and the gang surrounded with sexy hookers in their big IMP building with a party as Verosika and Stolas cry and carry on. It ends with DHORKS indeed proving demons are real, the priest yelling to nonvelievers with footage "SEE I TOLD YOU" and then DHORKS making a public advisory "DON'T FUCK WITH DEMONS" or something like that. Of course, people don't listen, so business is still booming for IMP. Maybe insert a YouTuber joke and Blitzo enters to kill the YouTuber. Blitzo is now indeed one HELLUVA BOSS! Finished.

But of course, Viv cannot make business and social climbing the center because DA FINANCHUDS EVIL, of course. Viv, you're literally streaming Hazbin Hotel with the help of the cartoon villain billionaire financhud Jeff Bezos!

This is all we got on the client, which again really worsens when you make Helluva Boss into a genuine drama and have it be set in the same universe where angels are genuinely worried about a demonic uprising.

At least it's something.
A former classmate didn't like how good the guy was and wanted a hit done.
Understandable.
I blinked and missed it, so the episode was confusing for me.

This is even more hilarious because Mr. Rogers could actually be considered progressive for his time. I'd even say that was a healthy kind of wokeness and not whatever Viv and many wokies today promote.
Maybe, but Mr. Rogers would never tell kids they should hate their bodies and mutilate them immediately.

Well, Stolas is sleeping on Blitz’s couch after the trial now. Blitz made him breakfast, and he bitched about it, so that’s a real good sign.
He also had no idea that Blitzø was obsessed with horse, which just goes to show you that these don't have any interaction with each other unless it's sex. Which makes sense on Blitzø's end because for the longest time he saw this relationship as just transactional fucking; but Stolas? I thought this was someone you considered a childhood friend. You have no chemistry with this man. You have no chemistry with anyone. No wonder your wife hates you. If this is how you treat someone you supposedly love, I can't imagine how you treat someone you're just "trying to make comfortable".
I still hate this shit, seriously, who thinks this looks "good".

On some level I kinda get what they’re doing with Loona’s eye and hair. Anime tends to do it a lot for some reason or another, like prioritizing facial expressions. Sometimes it’s inoffensive, other times you wonder what the point is, which is the case here.
Finally, someone else who is annoyed with this shit. It's a nitpick for sure, but it just looks so lazy to me. It works for anime because the hair is usually more detailed where you can see the individual strands instead of just being giant blob. At least lower the opacity or only do it was part of the eye is over the hair. Not when the hair should be covering the whole entire fucking eye. This was not a problem in season 1.
Well, what is it that they want? They are demons and they do wrong things? It is a shame to see a good person who didn't deserve to die, true. Yet I think this solidifies them as creatures from hell who are there to kill. Call it anti-heroes or perhaps even anti-villains.
And that's why I like the ending. Because it reminds the audience that our protagonists are shitty people and are no better than the supposed antagonists. Though I'll admit the ending would have probably been funnier if when Loona transformed the guy's face went aghast, go back to Loona who is still smiling, then go back to the guy who's expression hasn't changed, then back to Loona who is confused now, and then she waves her hand in front of his face only to realize he died from shock.
