Makes you wonder, how in the world did they manage to make Moxxie, the show's punching bag and the butt of jokes, seem like less of a loser than all of Blitzo's exes?
Probably because the one time we see Moxxie dealing with an ex he doesn't curl up in the fetal position and cry like the partygoers. If Blitz genuinely ruined their lives e.g. leaving them with a ton of debt like Verosika I could understand them bearing a grudge. But I'd expect them to be cold and resolute about it like Verosika. People deal with grief differently, I suppose, but they just come off as lame.

Stolas does point out how stupid and petty it is but I can't give him full credit for it since he still showed up.

Probably because the majority of them wouldn't even be considered an ex. We see that one guy Blitzø was making out with at Beezlebub's party. Why the fuck is he even here? Why are so many people still hung up about this guy? MV5BYzQwMTdlZjQtZGE0Ny00MWNmLWIxMGYtZWZjMmNhOWE2MTExXkEyXkFqcGc@._V1_.webp
These people are crying over this fugly-looking asshole. Dude doesn't even have any hair. What's so great about here? I mean the show says he has a big dick and is great in bed so maybe that's the reason? But at the same time will say he's shit in bed, so who knows!? I don't get the appeal!

This is so very very wrong it feels, and likely is, blasphemous. Not only that, Peter had a wife. Likely he had kids, all things considered. Viv doesn’t want to mention real world events, but this is fair game? Shipping biblical and historical figures? I feel dirty just trying to wrap my head around it about it. I kinda wish they would just make a joke where it’s not Simon Peter, but some other guy named Peter.
(Fun fact for those that don’t know, anyone deceased that has entered Heaven is considered a Saint. This includes angels. This is why on All Saints Day the congregations asks all saints known and unknown to pray for them. So if there has been a Peter that has died, and made it to Heaven, he would be ‘Saint Peter’. Put this into any other show, the joke writes itself but this is a Hell show. Research? Effort? A niche but clever application of technicalities? Can’t have those. Let’s just have gay fun time!)
Highlighted in bold text. Fully agree.
I wouldn't doubt it somewhat has slants on it being blasphemous. Simon Peter having a wife equalled him having children, no doubt. He was a fisherman, a hard worker in his trade. I have no idea who thinks that translated into "stepford grin showman". If the real Peter saw this fagman, he would give a biblical beating.

Also, Vivianne's critics are no better "Blonde man JEWISH!!! WRONG!!!". First of all, there were 3 provinces in today's Palestine: Judaea, Samaria and Galilee, where Peter was from. Plus, all the apostles were Judaean (much like today they would be theoretically "American") - yet they were from the tribe of Benjamin, including Saul/Paul. (With the exception of Judas Iscariot). This includes the misnomer of calling Flavius Josephus a "Jew"; he was from the tribe of Levi as he stated himself, yet was from province of Judaea (so, a Judaean).

An OC, probably. So as long as he is bashed and not the "bestest evar", he isn't a Gary Stu.

Like I doubt they're going to have Peter mention his wife in the show, because she is a woman and you know how this universe treats them. But surely they wouldn't make Abel and Peter an actual relationship in the show.

...right?

Huh, lead singer of Fall Out Boy? Im kinda impressed, though pretty sure the band disbanded so I kinda doubt the dude would charge that much, he aint on that huge popularity level like said Keith David is.

Edit: Though, no wait him being a rockstar he would actually charge more like Kesha did.
This is not unprecedented. He voiced (and, I believe, also sang) a guest character in Star VS the Forces of Evil.

I feel like out of the two Vivzie shows that Panty and Stocking could be compared to, Helluva Boss would be the one to do it with only because while Hazbin has crude humor, it's much less comedic.

Meanwhile Helluva Boss and Panty & Stocking follow very similar premises of a group of beings related to the Christian afterlife being tasked to kill for profit.

The difference is that Panty & Stocking's humor is more based on how it's a parody of American culture from a Japanese perspective with some jokes derived from American pop culture and experiences like the weed shop joke.

Meanwhile Helluva Boss' crude humor is just because that's Vivzie's style of comedy which by itself isn't a problem since Vivzie can actually be good at telling jokes. The core issue with Helluva is how much it takes itself very seriously and wants to have continuity and character development yet it conflicts with other shit.

Apology Tour is a great example of this where Blitzo apologizes a lot to the people he's wrong yet it doesn't stick, and Stolas dates another dude but it doesn't stick.

Theres also Sinsmas which makes a big deal about Blitzo sparing a gay father with his new husband cause he sees himself in him which by itself I guess could be the start of a character arc but then he kills a dude who has adopted orphaned children without thinking despite seeing the crying orphans.

Now this adds another issue is how Helluva Boss unintentionally creates a lot of moral dilemmas from the clients IMP chooses especially with the more serious tone. If it stuck to being heavily comedic in the hitman stuff that could be one thing while the drama goes down in hell but there is drama incorporated with the hitman stuff. Not to mention, a lot of the people IMP kills are for petty reasons, like if they were bad people the drama stuff could work in making these characters sympathetic.

Compare this to Panty and Stocking, who kill ghosts and demons while mostly being utter bitches. Yet despite the girls being assholes, the heartfelt moments can work since it adds another layer and it's still consistent as some of the ghosts are not bad people but it isn't the norm. Like these people were already dead or manifested grudges that are causing problems while the humans that IMP kills mostly mind their own business.

Theres also the fact that again while Panty and Stocking can have its heartfelt moments, it still mostly sticks to being a comedy whereas Helluva Boss keeps becoming a soap opera progressively.

That's how you know Blitz is a wish fufilment character: He has scores of bedmates and partners who loved him so much that they dedicated the remainder of their unending lives to worshipping him. Him, an annoying, shrieking clown who can't go 2 seconds without a sex joke or crying about his self inflicted problems.

I hate Blitzo anyway so that episode in particular just kinda crystalized it and made my reasons much more solid.

There's also the whole absurdity of the plots as well. One episode is about Panty and Stocking fighting zombies and get turned into them only to accept their fate and not treat it as such a world-ending issue, while the next episode has them duking it out as transformers. Don't know if season 2 is similar in that sense (need to check that out some time), but while the anime has a general premise each episode is pretty much vastly different from each other and you'll never know what you're going to get.

Meanwhile, Helluva Boss now plays everything pretty straight and strangely close to realism at times. The initial premise advertises itself as being wacky and absurd; demons from Hell come up to Earth to perform hits. But instead of coming up with different plots that can use this premise, the show rather make that a side-note and rather focus on relationship issues and poorly written political drama. So the excessive crude humor really clashes with a story that is trying to take itself seriously.

Also fun fact: the English VA for Stocking in season 2 is the same VA for Verosika. Unintentional crossover.
No matter what Viv tries I don't really feel bad for blitz.
I only feel bad for him when the show unnecessarily shits on him. And that's usually in context with Stolas. In the episode Apolgy Tour, I couldn't help but agree with Blitzø when he said everyone is an asshole in Hell because...he's not wrong. Almost all the characters we see are just shitty people. Sorry Verosika that your little speech about how Blitzø should be a better person comes on deaf ears because all I can think about is how you and your crew sexually assaulted one of his employees.

Basically Panty and Stocking embraces the fact that it's a sex comedy first and foremost while Viv is incapable of letting her precious OCs be jokes and has to hastily construct drama and weird moral dillemas that cancel each other out and just leaves everyone unsatisfied.

I haven't seen any attempts by Hellaverse fans to take down P&S but I have to imagine they're out there. Deeply threatened by a show that actually does their premise better.

Remember in the pilot when Charlie immediately knows Alastor has ulterior motives, describes him as "Sketchy as fuck.", and gets him to help with the hotel without any binding deal taking place? I miss that Charlie.
Everyone with any shred of logic and critical thinking misses Pilot Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss.

Because he's Brandon Roger's self-insert and he also thinks the world revolves around him.

I agree, this image sucks. Because both are shit.

Right, at least one isn't meant to be taken seriously, and one just does that.
Regardless, you know what's weird to me? How P&S was forgettable. There was S1 and then S2 came 16 years later and... yay I guess?

This image really made me realize just how much excessive red the Hazbin cast has.
The Pilot also wasn’t as bad in this regard.

They used that same Red in season 1 to make Alastor look worse, change Charlie’s eyes and top, take away Vaggie’s iconic pastel color palate to give her a lame button down in the color and just assault your eyes with it. Red isn’t the problem, it’s that Red that is the problem.
Also fun fact: the English VA for Stocking in season 2 is the same VA for Verosika. Unintentional crossover.
Not so fun fact: Panty and Stocking’s original English VA’s are Jamie Marchi and Monica Rial respectively AKA the cunts who lied about Vic Mignogna sexually assaulting them and helped lead to him being essentially removed from the anime industry and kicked off the first #WeebWars

Fun Fact: The “KickVic” side of Weeb War 1 recently all melted down over the fact that Rial and Marchi were replaced.
I hope Vic got a…Kick out of it.
