Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

I went with MG Rover and XAT/Commando. The Rover REALLY helps with avoiding getting overwhelmed by Voteless.

Just expect a lot of civilian casualties because the stupid drone has no IFF software, but then any vets already know that by now.

God damn what is a good loadout to handle Leviathans & Stingrays? Just Spear it up one of the automatic shotguns as a primary?
Bring the anti tank emplacement, it's the only strategem that kills leviathan quickly solo. Otherwise use the recoilless rifle and a supply backpack. Have a friend team reload the recoilless and when their backpack is low refill it with the supply backpack so they can keep loading rounds for you.

the only reasonable explanations for why arrowhead thought putting an enemy that:
  • is nearly impossible to kill,
  • is immune to 99% of the tools available to the player,
  • there is almost no point in killing because they respawn about as fast as you can kill them,
  • has multiple AOE cannons with perfect predictive aim
  • has multiple AOE cannons kill players with the heaviest armor in two shots
  • said AOE cannons are guaranteed to ragdoll you if you are a millimeter inside the damage area which i would say sets you up perfectly to be killed by the follow up shots but it already has perfect aim regardless so all it really does is prevent you from staving off the inevitable by using up all your stims.
is that they are either dwarf fortress tier masochists or they are retarded.

is immune to 99% of the tools available to the player,
The squids have had this problem for their whole roster since the beginning.

With the bugs and bots, 80% of stratagems and weapons work well or at least adequately against them, while the other 20% work well against the other faction, such as shotguns being effective against bugs but not bots.

The Illuminate seem to be the opposite in that about 60-75% of all your weapons and stratagems are sub-par or plain bad against them.
And, this has been that way since they were first introduced, let alone after the new enemies. Leviathans being immune to all but 3-4 stratagems is par for the course, unfortunately.

I agree with your general point, however there is a world of difference between "this strategem / weapon is suboptimal/bad against this enemy" and " this enemy is literally / functionally immune to this strategem". Adding the caveat because I'm sure theoretically you could drop a 500 kg bomb on a Leviathan but I've yet to see anyone even come close to doing that. The only time I've ever seen somebody hit a Leviathan with an orbital stratagem was with the orbital Gatling barrage, which just so happens to be one of the longest lasting stratagems that fires in a specific location so I think it was more that they got lucky in the Leviathan walked into a barrage than that they were trying to hit the Leviathan with the barrage, and that was on super earth where leviathans were a lot more manageable.

Remember those nearly hitscan cannons that Automaton fortresses have that fire bursts of explosive precision shots that just 1-2 ragdoll and snipe you? The guns that still have no impact noise a year after their debut? The guns that they for some reason mounted on hulks for about a month and then promptly walked back because it elevated hulk bruisers to being by far the most dangerous enemy in the game? Remember, to them Helldivers 2 is "a game about dying" whatever that means. With their sample size of retarded playstation niggers who have the tactical prowess of a fucking turnip you'd think they'd be satisfied. But I guess to them the idea of Helldivers 2 being a game that rewards good play and is intuitive enough to not die at all if you really know what you're doing totally escapes them.
Had computer troubles a few days back so I played some rounds on my steamdeck with my friends. Despite having to play on controller, and the game running on the absolute minimum settings at ~20 - 30 FPS (it usually runs far better but I was playing in desktop mode to continue talking to my friends.) I was able to remain competitive in the match and only died once in a difficulty 10 automatons mission. Tactics really are everything in Helldivers 2 and though I couldn't for the life of me actually tell you what I'm doing right, I have a natural inclination for picking out advantageous positions and making use of what cover I may or may not have to narrowly avoid even overwhelming odds. No matter how Arrowhead tries to spin it, Helldivers 2 is a casual friendly action game that heavily rewards good play and makes just as good a hardcore game as a casual action game. How they achieved this seemingly on accident I will never understand.
Laser cannon is the best support
Pre fire buffs, the Laser Cannon was a good precision all-rounder with staying power for any loadout with its infinite ammo and generous fire limit. Post fire buff it is truly a monster that can happily solo most missions. When you aren't lasering a weak point, you're better off using it as a fire status sprayer onto enemies, shooting small bursts and letting the fire damage kill them for free. Combine with an all sentry/all emplacement loadout for lots of fun. Or a stim pistol/crossbow combo with a supply pack for a do-all team support unit that can defend himself as adequately as he can supply and maintain his teammates. It's also one of the best weapons for de-beaking the chin guns off of factory striders, killing harvesters and doing supplementary damage to bile titans with fire DOT. A laser cannon would never not get use in any loadout. Easy S-tier for any situation. I remember on release when the laser cannon did like half the damage it does now, had recoil, no fire DOT and only did medium armor. Talk about a redemption arc.

Fiddled around with the mods for this game. Can't say I'm very impressed with most of them. I downloaded the alleged audio fix mod and I haven't noticed much difference yet.

There needs to be a level 11 difficulty god damn super helldive just feels easy as shit now, and boring.
Ive played bots the most because its the most fun, bugs are allright but ayy lmaos just suck ass and are boring to fight against.
Helldive 11 shouldnt increase enemy count, but just make them more aware, give all turrets more range and awareness(wow so hard i can walk at a cannon turret and it wont even notice me, or nail it 300 meters away with some anti tank weapons).
Fuckit, bot make mortar emplacements an actual fucking threat.

Most fun ive ever had in the game was when an ion storm blocked stratagem use when my team was going for the bot fortress, so many bot drops happened that it took a good 10 15 minutes to get back near the fortress because we had to retreat so far.

I wish some of the stratagems were laser designated.
The precision strike might be "balanced" if it was laser designated, but youd have to aim at the target for the entire call in time but it would hit precisely where your dot is even if you move it around.

Laser cannon is the best support, change my mind. Pair with crossbow or eruptor for a good time.

I once went into a mission after accidentally picking the laser cannon instead of quasar cannon.
Was gonna ragequit but i gave it a god.
Its surprisingly great, especially against squids.
And yeah, paired with eruptor its damn good.
Stalwart combined with eruptor is great in bugs, love it.
Only downside is that if you die, and some faggot reinforces you across the map and your stalwart is on cooldown, youre kinda left with very dangerous close quarters combat with the eruptor.

Stratagems in helldivers 2 remind me alot about the gameplay in Mercenaries 2.
If youve played it, you get the similarities.
Absolutely fantastic game.
