Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

Seconding the ballistic shield due to the recent-ish buff that finally made it effective against melee damage too.

Stop bugs, stop bot berserkers, stop Voteless and their melee overlords. Never not useful and has one of the quickest cooldowns among backpack strategems to boot.

Yes I know what you're thinking but I was thinking of getting a light machine gun and using the revolver for heavy enemy types. The crossbow is good but I have trouble hitting moving targets and I don't like the rate of fire.
i feel it. the crossbow can be punishing at times. i havent tested any of the submachine guns other than the reprimand after the recent buff but i'd assume they are around the par of the liberator and its concussive cousin. sometimes i like to run the halt shotgun with a dagger/stunlance and ballistic shield. it may be a little obvious but the shield protects shots from the back if you're not holding it so there's always some utility to it.
edit: yeah i've paid the tenbux for a warbond or two and didn't feel like a little cuck in the process. i don't like live service type games but helldivers does it damn well

Given how good (relatively) arrowhead's monetization scheme is in helldivers 2, I've been happy to give them money. At the end of the day, the game won't be supported if it's not profitable.
I bought a bundle of supercredits at the beginning of the game’s release and I don’t feel like my money was wasted. I like the game, it’s pretty cheap compared to other games, and they’ve done a good job improving it over the last year. I considered it a tip for making something fun in the midst of the game industry’s overall retardation.

Yeah I was willing to drop $20 on my $40 game given how much enjoyment I am getting out of it.

Am I just bad at the game or do super shekels take a long ass time to get? I mostly play 6 difficulty and it feels like it takes me months to get a single warbond. I mostly play the large map 40 minute missions and hit as many points of interest as I can

Spam lower level mission. Level 1 or level 2 will give you very tiny maps with one simple objective. Pick planets and/or maps that don't have a lot of water as points of intrest cannot spawn in them. It may not be as fun as playing a mission that will challenge you, but if your only goal is SC then it's the fastest way to do so.
It also helps if you have a friend to farm with so that you can open those buddy bunkers together.

Would you say it gives you enough height to safely use something like the grenade launcher? Or any other more powerful explosion type weapons?
Just about the only explosive that wouldn't be safe from above is the airburst. 10m is pretty high.
Really want to play around with the shield diver build when I get the revolver. The only annoying thing is shields taking up backpack space. Jetpack is probably going to have more utility especially with the flamethrowers
Directional shield and Talon are fun together. Hunkering down and headshotting devastators from safety. The directional shield blocks Terminid bile (not melee) attacks as well, try it some time.

Last night at least if you loaded into a difficulty 3 mission you would end up in a lobby farming SC. It's kind of fun honestly. Suiting up with three others, two guys in each FRV sweeping maps and casually talking about whatever comes to mind. I have played the game on and off and have been able to buy every warbond without buying any SC or having to do an excessive amount of farming. Generally the SC you find on missions is enough to get you by. People usually pick difficulty 3 because it is the only difficulty where the maps generate full sized but there are no rare samples that can take the place of SC drops.

I honestly did not know that. Didn't even think about the fact that rare samples could replace SC. Well, guess who has a new method of SC farming? XD
And thanks for the advice on the hoverpack. Didn't make enough medals last night to purchase the hoverpack, but you were right about the new pistol. That thing is by far one of the best weapons they have come out with since launch.

i am apparently late to the new tactics against the hot boys which is to just never fucking engage them and ditch your teammates in every single firefight. once again it's everyone's fault but mine that shit can't get done...

If coordinating overwhelming firepower against them before those spicy heavy devastators can open fire is not an option then pretty much. The only times it's gone smoothly for me is when the team fucks the spicy bois before they can fuck us.

The laser pistol from the new warbond is fucking awesome by the way. Good for killing scavengers and troopers without wasting ammo and hits hard for medium enemies

I have had so much fun with it just doing duels with other players and goofing off. I actually enjoy the Deadeye rifle too, it is fantastic for bot missions but I do hope they are able to patch the aim without fucking it up because some shots seem to randomly veer off a bit. But if I bring that it will take out any devastators easily while the talon does a nice job of close encounters and a machine gun strat takes care of chaff. I made the mistake of dropping into a bug mission with it still equipped but it still held up nicely, I just had to use a support weapon as my primary again but it stops hive guards and alphas.

I hope they don't somehow nerf the hover pack before I get enough medals to unlock it, I've been limited on play time since the warbond dropped but hope to get back into it this weekend and get it. I've seen enough videos of players using it to cheese enemies by going on top of buildings though to feel that AH will end up taking the fun away even though any serious threat enemy can just take out the buildings now with environmental damage.

The jump pack has been in the game since launch and was able to get on top of buildings even before they buffed it. Don't worry about it. The hoverpack is safe. Not to mention there would be nuclear armegeddon to pay from the fanbase if it got nerfed. Especially since it's a last page item on the new warbond. If anything it will probably get buffed with slightly more speed or the ability to cancel mid-hover.

Both of the new guns are extremely good against bots. The lever-action set to 150m is extremely easy to get headshots with (which are one shot kills on everything except for walkers (which are two shot) and Hulks) and the laser revolver is a great last-ditch weapon that you never have to worry about reloading (also works great for clearing minefields).

Since the update, the average skill level has dropped through the floor. I've run into a lot of level 100+ people who burn through 75% of the reinforcement budget in the first 10 minutes on difficulty 10 because they aggro literally everything.

We have 5ish hours to either defend against 6 more bot attacks (impossible) or kill 300,000,000 more bugs (possible).

But there are over 30k divers going to bot missions right now instead of just bugdiving, so we will probably lose this MO. This is why strong faction preferences are retarded, there probably are a lot of people who are just wanting to fight the hot boys but there are tons who just can't adapt strategy to fighting the bugs.

Dude to 80% of this game's player base the galactic war serves its purpose of being the 'special of the day' for when they get home from their 9-5 to unwind for the night. For the other 20% of manchildren like us who play the game religiously it's set dressing for their epic jihad. Stop losing sleep over a fake war.

I just want the medals and for this version of the war to keep going since it's fun, but it's been very slow and boring recently besides the Incineration Corps and the Predator Strain. Just waiting for Meridia to eventually reach Super Earth since it really seems like nobody can stop it.

I don't think bugs are fun, thus I don't play bugs since I play the game to have fun, simple as.

I took the war seriously until Angel Bay's demise, I just answer SOS beacons nowadays and all my builds are now based around support. I feel more accomplished after a game session when I get messages like "Thanks for sticking around" and "Thank you for helping us". Warms my inner hellbomb heart.
