Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

Even recently the devs have referred to Helldivers as a milsim or hardcore game which it obviously isn't,
If this was the case they wouldn't have strategems be so easy to deploy. It would require awaiting authorization and constantly updating the target so that it can be delivered effectively. You would be a SEAF grunt, not spec ops (which is just a grunt that bothered to apply) with carte blanch to command your own ship to do whatever you want. It's well known that Arrowhead is seemingly schizophrenic and the head that wants the hardcore grunt fantasy acquiesces to Sony and the head that wants to balance for the sake of fun (and thus player enjoyment) when the players shout loudly enough, only to try something else a month later. People thought the PSN debacle was the biggest hurdle of the game but at this point that's small potatoes. PSN was essentially bureaucratic-type corporate fuckery, this is just developers refusing to fully accept what the players want. And I get that, because when your vision gets tarnished and casualized in chasing popularity it feels hollow, like how DBD went from a sort of grungy actual asymm horror game to basically a party game where the survivors actively taunt and bully the killer (ignore that bhvr today are massive faggots).

The problem is that Helldivers wasn't even its intended vision from Go, and that's why it was so popular. If it was the actual hardcore game they wanted it would've had a nice crop of players who enjoy that and be it, around the numbers it has now. Instead we went from insanely good numbers to what we have now as a matter of poor decisions.

As someone who hasn't played the game and not really paid attention I can say that a SEAF-based Battlefront-style horde shooter where its you and 15+ other dumbasses w/ AI grunt backup all dying constantly to try and take and hold a bunch of capture points from a horde of enemies would have been fun as hell as a game concept on its own. But instead its a game where you're orbital drop infantry with on-demand fire support they're trying to pass off as some hardcore grunt milsim, but none of the actual milsim mechanics like say, stealth, work particularly well.

Super Credits & a Fairer Galactic War: You Asked for a Cleaner Fight. Here It Is.

Cheaters have been a top topic in player feedback since launch, and today we are united in dealing a hefty blow to their undemocratic ways!

Greetings, Helldivers.
You've told us that cheaters and exploiters ruin the experience that it feels unfair when someone games the Super Credit system while you're out there earning yours the hard way. We heard you, and we're starting to implement changes that will tackle issues like this...

Today we’re improving our monitoring methods for suspicious Super Credit activity. Here’s exactly what that means for you.

TL;DR
If you earn credits at an unreasonably high rate (substantially higher than the highest players earning ever recorded) there are now steps in place to counter this. This will not affect legitimate players, only the bad apples cheating the system.

Good news first: this changes nothing for real Helldivers.
If you're playing the game grinding maps, clearing POIs, looting bunkers you will never experience any change. So keep on liberating with your squad on a marathon grind, or even a full weekend of play. The steps exist to catch bad actors, not to slow you down.

So who does this affect?
Cheaters. Botters. People using automation and duplication exploits to hoover up Super Credits at rates no human Helldiver could ever reach legitimately. Those are the targets and now we have radically improved the tools to stop them at the source, before they can do damage to the economy you play in.

By drawing a firm line, we can:
  • Catch and stop cheating at the point of exploit not after the harm is done.
  • Keep earned rewards meaningful, so your Super Credits actually feel worth having.
  • Level the playing field across every planet and every player population.
  • And of course allow you legitimate players to keep as many super credits as you earn, forever!
  • These changes will be rolling out for all reward currencies including Medals, Samples, and Requisition

This is a win for the community. A healthier economy means the Super Credits you earn through honest service to Super Earth stay worth earning.

What if something seems off with your account?
We know changes like this can raise questions. The player support team is ready to review your case.

You told us the fight wasn't fair. Today marks a big step towards eradicating pesky cheaters. We'll keep listening and keep communicating openly as we continue to improve the game.

For Super Earth. For Democracy. For a cheat-free galaxy. <:diversalute:1212879696530772048> @everyone
I guess you can't cheat in super credits anymore.

"You've told us that cheaters and exploiters ruin the experience that it feels unfair when someone games the Super Credit system while you're out there earning yours the hard way. We heard you,"

Sony is probably getting a little stricter after Destiny 2 shut down.

Fix the game, nah protect those sheckles!

I cant even be assed to reinstall and find chinese players to buy their subpar warbonds anyway.

I like how tonedeaf Arrowhead is in making this announcement.

Fixing the game? Adding more biomes? Maybe roll back some of the shitty nerfs?

Nah, bro, gotta protect the super shekels first.

"Economy?" What economy? Super credits get effectively destroyed when you get a warbond. That's not an economy, that's rationing game content.

Yeah that threw me for a fuckin loop when I saw it. There's no trade system or anything. All the SC call down cheats are amounted to "I'm earning them the right way instead of the smart way and I am mad I didn't think of that."

Also they can't even ban people I don't think still because of PSN so this is just gonna be what some fuckin rollback? If anything people are gonna find the money zone. Like if it dings you for 3000 SC earned in 4 hours people will just use the cheats and do 100 a mission every 20 minutes and undercut it, or whatever the rate is, and it'll become an arms race.

outside exploiting you are pretty much running the way they want you to grind because they already ran the math, happens to a lot of games with currencies.
it seems they went for the "player engagment metrics" shite.

I got the new weapon, haven't used it but I just wanted to say that all you have to do to earn it is to complete one operation while the campaign is active and of course the campaign has to be won. I think I only did one operation during the first major order and didn't do anything else other than just log in to look at the screen for a minute before logging off. If anyone who hasn't played at all during the campaign can you check your game to see if you've gotten the new marksman rifle? With their wording on their Xitter posts being kind of specific, saying things like "Dive now to be eligible for your campaign reward!"

A full mission video where the guy has a lot of fun with the new gun against regular bugs. I think I'm going to steal his build with modifications and play with a battle buddy this evening.

Edit: he is wrong about it not having customization; at the time of the video being created that might have been accurate. As of me and my buddy playing with it today it does have customization but the options are a bit wonky. I do quite like the gun, though.

A new campaign has started which means there's a new item for a reward, this time it's a single helmet. It's a cool looking helmet in my opinion but the reward would be more impactful if it also came with an armor set.

The helmet makes me think that they're using content from a scrapped Warbond. This has already happened since the cars that were earnable with the first campaign was apart of a Warbond that was supposed to come out last month. The helmet is probably the bit of Super Store armor that was gonna come out with the Warbond but that's just speculation on my part. The confusing item is the new DMR. Unless if it was going to be another bit of Super Store content I doubt they made it just for the campaign considering their retarded development pipeline. Maybe Nixes made it. Y'know the actual developers of the game at this point.

Okay fellas, since no one else has done it, I've taken it upon myself to download an older build of the game and extract all the leaked Illuminate cultist units in the files at launch, and whose fate for ever being officially released is ambiguous at best.

I've compiled all the playable units, weapons that astral gate that acted as a spawner, and even some older models that likely got scrapped early on. The archive isn't perfect, there's definitely a chance I missed a small thing or two, and the models themselves have some damage bits and protrusions that I couldn't figure out how to get rid off, I know they can be hidden with shaders but still. They also don't have their textures when you load them in, but a folder for textures is included for each entity.

Should I make a zip file and upload it?

The 500kg is very frustrating to use. It has shitty hit detection that allows enemies to survive a point-blank blast if there's any hard cover between them and the bomb (unlike the hellbomb). + There's a bug that makes the bomb always land about 7 meters away from the beacon.

It needs the same hit detection as the portable hellbomb and an inner explosion radius up to 17m (like hellbomb).

The 500kg has been long overdue for a buff with how inconsistent it is these days, I find myself using the strafing run and the rocket pods more with its recent buff.
