Here comes Niko, a game about some non-binary kid running away from his parents. - Made to you buy the same guys who made a Hat in Time.

They only have eleven people (Archive)

on their team, too. A hat in time broke 1 mil well over 4 years ago. That doesn't even start to account for sales since and for the dlc, and merchandise for that game. Who wants to bet half the staff identify as communists anyway?
"Jenna Brown - creative director"

Found the problem.

Edited to include her picture.

The sole human / furry gang cast immediately reminds me of Undertale and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the group they were hoping to cater to. Not something I'm interested in even though I do have a weak spot for pastels, but as long as this doesn't engage in some bullshit propaganda pushing and stays within the realm of "this lead character is non-binary because that's the new blank slate female Mary Sue player character for female-leaning games; anyway!" then I can't say I would have a problem with it from the little I have seen here.
Nah, it's 100% catching the Animal Crossing audience, specifically the LGBT group that's co-opted the game since the franchise went into a downward spiral. There IS significant audience crossover between it, Undertale, and other games, so I do agree there.

Note the only human character being the player character, middle bottom right.
Here's the speech bubble being similar too.

On another note,
Took the liberty of archiving the train conversations video here too.

Crazy to see, considering this studio got attacked by usual suspects over jontron having a few lines in A Hat in Time, and now they just bow to insanity.

Is there Canada DLC with bathub crafting?
No, but one of the locations Niko goes is a bathhouse.

There's a review of the game on YouTube dating a year ago
The parent calls are heartbreaking and Niko being "everyone's friend" does seem like a toned down version of pimping
How could they have made platforming more disorienting after their experience? Your character being a 2d sprite in 3d can work but the way they've done it produces a similar motion sickness to VR. How??

FYI, as far as I can tell this game was not developed by the A Hat in Time people, this is a new studio's first IP. Gears for Breakfast were the studio responsible for developing A Hat in Time, and they are listed solely as the publisher of the game, so I don't think they had any developmental contributions.

Anyways, regardless of who created it or who published it, it's obviously still shit.

You're right, jumped the gun on that one. "Frog Vibes" could be a studio name these two were going by.
Their names are listed in the bio for the game's promotional account on twitter.

Which, by the way, had been in development for at least two full years before release judging by this archive. The promotional account was live 3 years ago and the game officially launched on steam August 3rd 2021.
This dev hasn't changed their bio since 2018 despite still being active on the account. So I'm unsure if they are actually still actively developing the game like they say.

Someone went to the trouble of saving all this stuff probably close to when they first announced development. Here's @clear_eclair's archive from 3 years ago too.

She looks like a female troon. All of my wat.
Nah, she's just British. Also bipolar according to her Twitter (can't archive at the moment).

I don't know about that. Brown was the art director for Hat in Time. I bet that there are other HiT devs on the team for Niko as well.

Probably the same faggots that hid that flag away like cowards. Just seems it's safe now to make an allegory about pimping out runaways.

I mean, I guess I shouldn't be surprised... there's people out there that think it's smart to runaway from home to California and be homeless. Maliciously blind to the horrors that such actions involve. That seems to be the target audience with this game.

To make it clear to everyone here, this game was only published by the hat in time devs, not actively developed. It was produced by two people, going by @StijnvanWakeren and @clear_eclair on twitter, respectively. (Archive 1, archive 2) The game was officially released on August 3rd, 2021 going by the pinned post on the game's promotional account. (Archive) eclair did art, Stijnvan likely did everything else, but I haven't looked at the credits, that's just from both of their twitters.
