Here's your controller, bro - Post bad controllers, either in design or maintenance

Another rant on Sega Master System Controllers, the Control Stick

iu

This isn't the mirror image, the stick is on the right instead of life and the buttons and stick gummy like the basic SMS controller. At least you can play most games with the Genesis controller but some games can't use it like my favorite, Montazuma's Revenge.

The controllers of the SMS along with the Keypad era of 80s makes me really appreciate the NES controller. It might be simpler in most design but at least I can play games comfortably without any frustration.

Fucking spot on.

Also, there has never been a better controller designed than the Official Sony PS2 controller.

It's the best part of emulating games on the PC, the D-pad is the best out there, and it just feels perfect in my hand. I really hated that they ruined the design after PS3. I really fucking hate the L2 and R2 "triggers" instead of actual fucking buttons, also WTF is this monstrosity known as the PS4 controller

What the FUCK even is that shit in the middle? Is that some sort of gayass touch screen shit? Also, what's with this shit on modern consoles having a seperate fucking speaker in the controller.

I came here to post this fucking travesty. I remember being being really intrigued by it as a kid, but then totally baffled trying to use it. What sort of acid-riddled idea was that.

I guess the touch screen button is unnecessarily large, but it's useful for having another button to pull up menus. I don't have any problem with the PS4. It's definitely way better than the XBox 360 controller, which is a bulky piece of shit.

Any ideas on a good 2D CAD mouse that'll help me draw faster/more efficient when I have to bang out something out from scratch in ACAD

This might not be even remotely useful advice.
Buy a Wacom in A4 size and you get a mouse with it, the mouse works like the pen(only on the drawing surface and no pressure sensitivity), set it to 1-to-1 positional mode and you can put a piece of paper/drawing on it and use it like those old CAD-pads. Maybe, I never tried it, paper might be too thick, but using the Wacom mice seems a lot like those CAD/mouse combos I've seen people use in the past and they seemed to prefer them over regular mice.

I'm also gonna say the Sega Master System controller. It's basically the down syndrome version of the NES controller. The Turbo controller isn't bad either, but the placement for start and select just feel weird to me. Though honestly, if you want to play SMS games and hate the controller, just use this and an NES controller.

The best controller for the SMS was the Genesis pad.

What you posted was pretty interesting. Every once in a while I need to check shit out in 3D and yes it's a struggle zooming in on stuff but I don't use it enough justify a $200 mouse.
I was about to tell you that the SpaceNavigator model seen in that video only costs £70, but it looks like it's gone up to £140 since I bought it. What the hell? :\
If you're looking for a 2D one that works well for CAD, then I think any gaming mouse with buttons that let you adjust its sensitivity will do the trick.
Here's the one I use. It was pulled off the market years ago, but you should be able to find something pretty similar.

This is one of the best wireless controller ever, i had one and the batteries lasted for 6 years before i had to change them

if you had more than one reciever, you could put them all on the same channel and you could control multiple players with one controller, used to fuck with my friends when they had to do something and had to leave the room

Unpopular: never really gelled with the Gamecube controller, maybe my chemistry is fucked it was never comfortable or all that pleasant to use.

That, the very very early PS3 controllers it was boxed with, year of release, felt like knockoffs even though they clearly weren't and had the official logo inside the home button.

The Gamecube controller is fantastic for Gamecube/Wii games that were designed for it [and N64 VC games], but is awful for anything else. Even Gameboy games on the Gameboy Player sucked with it.

Apparently the 2600 had a balance board controller.
