I wonder what geoff saw in highguard that made him go "No man dont shadow drop it, let me feature it at the game awards, hell i´ll even give you the One final reveal spot", because from what i´ve seen the game is nothing revolutionary and while its not terrible, it has questionable design desicions like:
-You pick your starting loadout but its almost immediatly obsolete becuase the game starts with you fortifying your base, no combat, but when you are allowed to leave and fight, by design they expect you to run into loot before a firefight starts, so you run around the map looking for weapons and armor with better stats than what you start with and switch your starting loadout with those and if you cant find it, you are expected to gathe resources to buy gear from the merchant
-Weapon rarity only gives boring bonuses that are almost exactly like the apex legends weapon attachements, like swap speed, stability, bigger magazine, except that here they are part of the weapon themselves instead of attachment that you can put on another compatible weapon like apex does. Meanwhile helmets only give headshot reduction and armor gives HP protection. Only thing that seems "fun" are amulets abilities like faster cooldowns for granades or faster revive.
-3vs3 raid mode only, at least on release
-The maps are not "massive" as some claim to be, but they are indeed big for 3vs3 and thats why you have mounts for faster movement speed BUT...
-Mounts seem useless for anything but movility

It sucks because you can see the potential for something great here. The shooting and movement are tight (they are ex titanfall and apex devs so i expect it to be) even if the weapons themselves seem bland for the fantasy setting and the wardens powers, while copies from powers of other f2p shooters, can be fun when you combine that with wall destructions while raiding an enemy base, but 3vs3, only 8 heroes and only one mode? they are launching with less features than their competitors

I feel like the 'geoff keighley ruined the shadowdrop' narrative is pretty weak. Even if you buy in and believe it, it's not flattering - it sounds like the marketing team tried to have their cake and eat it too.

They should have either committed to the shadowdrop, or fully reneged from it and made a more traditional release campaign. Doing the first part of a normal release campaign and then going silent is just nonsensical.

If you wanted the best of both worlds, what you really needed is less, not more. Make your announcement that a new game from the makers of titanfall and apex legends is dropping late jan, say absolutely NOTHING else.

First thing I did when I started seeing the bad reviews and laughable 3v3 pop up, is look at the characters to see what their "vision" was, were they actually free to design characters or is it gamer LinkedIn corpo slop.

Only one close to being what I'd call normal gamer sexy is the redhead Scarlet. The goth chick is too reserved, you have normal butch amazon lesbian, then precious minority covered in way too much clothes.

I laugh at this because Concord looked horrible from a character design, Overwatch got taken over by the SJWs about a year or two into it's life and then deliberately had ugly women in the game since the breakout beginning for all but 2 characters (Kiriko and recently Juno), Valorant is generic character slop, Apex covers up all the women outside of Loba because they're scared of danger hairs.

Meanwhile Marvel Rivals, despite being based on comics that are all now run by SJW creators, has a bunch of chynese who went "let's have sexy skins of Psylocke, Emma Frost, Invisible Woman, Magik, Scarlet Witch, Rogue, Luna, Mantis, and even do something for the chubby chasers with Squirrel Girl." And they're arguably doing the best of all of these games.

Mostly agree however it is very funny to blame him for it so I'll continue to do it.

Probably the best take about how Geoff Keely fucking ruined this game XD

The devs apparently wanted to shadow drop the game, but Geoff thought it was SOOOO revolutionary that he had to show it at the Game Awards. Probably hyped the devs up, making them think the wider gaming community would love it.

I forgot this game was about to exist.

It is very much still a thing and copious amounts of Overwatch Rule 34 are still being made from it.
But why? When I played with it it was quite decent software for making short movies and shit. Easier than blender. Though the learning curve turned me away from it. Got bored after I did a few scenes. Loved the lipsync.

Maybe I'll reinstall it and finally do something with it.

Sfm rule34 stuff is just gross and I wish I didn't Google it. But it does look 10x better than when SFM first made rounds, so there is potential.

I really like the suggestion that Geoff had a vendetta against the game for some reason and facilitated its demise on purpose.

Maybe he's as sick of all these interchangeable hero shooters as everybody else is and wants to quicken their going in the ground any way that he can.

The only thing that I think can save the game from dying in a week is them immediately putting out a performance patch as well as promising to at least fix the looting phase. hell that's something you can easily patch as well, just make the looting phase shorter.
I doubt they're going to though and I'm pretty sure the games gonna die by next monday

No one's going to drop $20 on a skin for Lilith Gigajaw or hypernose niggerjew.
This is what baffles me the most about modern western games. It's not a fucking secret that sex sells and all the hot skins make the most money in these F2P scam games. Is their dedication to making everything brown and gay so strong that they'll ignore the easiest way to siphon money out of the whales? That was a rhetorical question.

Fucking hell, Riot Games is full of rainbow-haired xhe/xhem activist developers and even they have admitted defeat when it comes to the sexy skin issue. Maybe it's just the shock collar China has around their necks that forces them to comply. Lillith Evertranny needs to keep pumping out barefoot Ahri skins lest Winne the Pooh releases the grooming tapes to the public.

It's annoying, but you can thank the cheat makers, who managed to turn it into a 2$bn industry.
Hey asshole, that doesn't stop cheaters at all. It's just a scam so they can definitively ID you everywhere and you are a useful idiot.

Does it even do anything? Initially when the bf6 beta dropped it was bypassed and there were still cheaters. I don't know if it made the cheating situation better in call of duty warzone (yes, it was added there too) or how the current bf6 situation is.
It doesn't as you can see with your own eyes in bf6. He is asking you to disbelieve your lying eyes.

It curbs most cheat types, but that leaves the more sophisticated ones like DMA and Object Detection/AI aimbots. We're talking about people willing to shill out 200$ just for the hardware, let alone the subscription fee for the cheat itself.

Enforcing TPM/Secure Boot properly is also its own thing, where DICE dropped the ball and half-assed it.
Again you are full of shit. Aimbots that are just watching the screen require no hardware. DMA can be accomplished by running something in a VM which, again, requires no hardware.

How can anyone seeing a trailer like this think the game is any good?
It would be bad as a mobile release. Look at those graphics, and the console movement and aim in first person, omfg.

Its like they are intentionally making games so Fortnite can look good by comparison.
just so you know, someone went to art school for 4+ years to learn the intricacies of character design and visual storytelling and all that shit and this is the best that they could do.

It’s ostensibly to make gaming “more inclusive” which then means they get better ESG scores, likely the real reason behind it. The chinks figured out how to actually make gaming inclusive for women and it’s not making the women uglier, it’s making the men hotter. Should’ve been obvious to anyone but here we are.

WotC does the same with making males eyecandy, but continue to make females as uggos, in addition to the other rainbow shit they do like displaying player pronouns in MTG event livestreams. So either Hasbro needs to do make up for their other divisions that aren't "diverse character friendly", or the Chinese do behind-the-scenes stuff like making a "secret unused uggo female" repository.

This is pretty much spot-on. I would only change the part about marketing on point 1. Concord-likes enjoy every luxury an AAA game could ask for (massive budgets, extremely long dev cycles, big-name studios) except for marketing.
I have to disagree. Concord got tons of marketing including several animated shorts. I remember watching a few and while they were truly retarded (I'm pretty sure in one a character sneaks into a vent then turns on their invisibility...) they clearly spent a lot of money making them.

Most people just never saw them (or any of the other marketing) because of point #2 "it is immediately panned or written off at the moment of it's announcement by the larger audience".

This game is honestly so bare-bones and boring that I can't summon up the vigor to be the number one hater I thought I could be.

tf2bros keep winning

it's good to know that nobody else has stolen the idea i've had for a big online game yet, or at least in a way that makes it popular. this looks like some weird cross between dota and fortnite which is completely indistinguishable from any other hero shooter we've been subjected to for the past decade now.

Paladins not even being mentioned shows how irrelevant that game is in the Hero Shooter genre. At least LawBreakers had the attention of how hard it flopped, in addition to CliffyB's comments like "$29.99, not that $60 multiplayer-only bullshit".

I can't believe there are business types who fund these flops are so retarded yet still manage to have the money year after year to fund more and more dumpster fires. I remember watching the French Game Award Sweep with friends and when we first heard the words "New breed of shooter" we all said "another hero shooter" in unison just to get proven right in less than 30 seconds during the Fortnite/Valorant gameplay trailer.
