It's not necessarily that because it's the appeal of the genre, the interesting thing is that arc raiders is very late into the market. It's like if highguard was a solid hero shooter and made better numbers than its counterparts while being 40$. I remember when marathon alpha was revealed and everyone was saying that there's an extraction shooter fatigue and that nobody would play a new extraction shooter, then arc raiders comes along months later and becomes a huge hit. Maybe it's the third-person perspective bias that people have because of fortnite, it seems that tps are more likely to succeed than fps these days. Arc raiders also has the body type A/B and nonsense and everyone is androgynous, so I was expecting it to be the target of the culture war at the very least.
