They force you to have a gmail if you wanna sign in on youtube. At least they did, years ago, what were people supposed to do?people rather deal with being anally probed for an gmail account

How is it illegal?LOL Google already make money from me by illegally selling my data. Thanks to this bullshit I discovered FreeTube which is an awesome app and I won't go back
EU GDPR. I've not opted in to any data sharing or selling.How is it illegal?
So I usually stay in other tabs and YouTube in the background and it is really annoying for me to go back to the tab and skip the ad, not to complain but this is a great solution but I think I can make it a little bit better, Just follow the procedure mentioned above then you scroll down to the bottom of the enhancer for YouTube extension settings/options. And, you will see Custom Script, paste the following code in the input box, and select the checkbox that says Automatically execute the script when YouTube is loaded in a tab and save it. You are welcome.
setInterval(()=>{
if(document.getElementsByClassName('ytp-ad-preview-container ') && document.getElementsByClassName('ytp-ad-preview-container ').length){
document.getElementById('efyt-not-interested').click()
}
if(document.getElementById('masthead-ad')) document.getElementById('masthead-ad').innerHTML = ""
if(document.getElementsByTagName("ytd-player-legacy-desktop-watch-ads-renderer") && document.getElementsByTagName("ytd-player-legacy-desktop-watch-ads-renderer").length)document.getElementsByTagName("ytd-player-legacy-desktop-watch-ads-renderer")[0].innerHTML = ""
if(document.getElementsByTagName("ytd-ad-slot-renderer") && document.getElementsByTagName("ytd-ad-slot-renderer").length)document.getElementsByTagName("ytd-ad-slot-renderer")[0].innerHTML = ""
},500)
Take your pick... either it's because "nobody uses those sites" or "it's filled with literal nazis"Also I don't understand why creators aren't creating accounts on other video sites. Doesn't seem like it would be much effort.
I think it's because people are sick of having to spend money for everything. If companies could find a way to charge for air and sunshine, they probably would do so. Also in a better world, there would always be free services that are also all about privacy.people wanted everything online for free
I just got it at work the other day on a device with adblock installed. Never seen it on any of my own devices.Has YT given up? Haven't seen that anti ad block pop up for some days now and I'm not doing the filter refresh on uBlock every time a open my browser.

YouTube haven't updated their detection script since Friday. It would be nice if they did give up, cos they're fighting a losing battle anyway.Has YT given up? Haven't seen that anti ad block pop up for some days now and I'm not doing the filter refresh on uBlock every time a open my browser.
I don't know why you think it's a losing battle, it's well within their means to shove ads in a way that no ad blocker can block reliably.YouTube haven't updated their detection script since Friday. It would be nice if they did give up, cos they're fighting a losing battle anyway.
And then some autist will find a way to circumvent those ads too, like always.I don't know why you think it's a losing battle, it's well within their means to shove ads in a way that no ad blocker can block reliably.
That's a baseless assumption: At some point that won't be possible. Just as an example from something related: the age-gate videos bypass in yt-dlp can't work now if you're connecting from the EU to YouTube (unless you give your account's cookies to yt-dlp, which defeats one of its purposes).And then some autist will find a way to circumvent those ads too, like always.
