Like they only want to destroy JK Rowling. They'd love to take her down, but that's not enough - everyone else has to hate her and her works as much as they do. They don't want anyone to have fun they've deemed problematic, which includes anything related to Rowling. Collateral damage is a good thing - in their minds, if the studio didn't want to have a failure on their hands they shouldn't have been making a Harry Potter game in the first place.

It's true that the vast majority of them will end up playing it - their boycotts are always dominated by their need to consoom. Many will still secretly buy it, but some will also download a pirated copy and feel like that makes them a good person, because why should your principles require any sacrifice on your part? But they will screech like banshees at anyone who dares to look forward to the game or express a positive sentiment towards it, no matter how long they spend beforehand talking about how Rowling is an evil Nazi TERF and how horrible everything she is and does has always been.

ResetEra troons and Cyberpunk 2077 shows how this will go in woke bubbles, and what they'll try and force on social media. They managed to squash all conversations about that game to require self-flagellation about how transphobic it was before, and eventually instead of, actually talking about the game. And then at release, all the troons gleefully played it, talking about how evil it was while putting in dozens of hours of playtime, but still suicide baiting and appealing to the mods should anyone else dare to talk about the game without focussing on how it was transphobic.

Of course, it's not a new pattern. But I am looking forward to these tactics having continually diminishing returns, no matter how many articles @CatParty ends up posting.

The irony surrounding that game is so thick. They hire trannies to make a tranny game which is hated by trannies but the trannies buy it anyway... but there's not enough trannies to make up for all the right-wing white males who don't buy it because it's a broken mess made by trannies. And the studio will still linger on for 15 years because good money always follows bad in the gaming industry.

Liam has had a history of being a butthurt moron, especially back in the days when he was heavily invested in Nintendo Switch leaker culture, and failed miserably every time he tried to leak something. One of his earliest fuckups was when this idiot proudly boasted that he had insider knowledge that Shovel Knight was coming to smash, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 were fake before being proved wrong and getting embarrassed so badly he went on a blocking spree meltdown.

The biggest achievement he's ever had in his life is "leaking" the Mario vs. Rabbids game by using a little screengrab of Mario from the game box art as his avatar, something he wore with pride for years.

Also, this dumbass enabled and supported Luulubuu, a biologically male pedo neckbeard grifter from Spain who was LARPing as a Japanese lesbian and managed to con his way into PR positions at several indie companies simply by lying in his Twitter bio that he did PR for Japanese companies that he never worked for, like Capcom and Square Enix.

Luulubuu amassed almost a million twitter followers and tons of money on his alleged "art" patreon that he never used before getting run off the internet after Spanish twitter revealed his past full of similar grifting and trying to meet up with teenagers for sex. Liam panicked because he was so intertwined with this guy and started blocking everyone on Twitter who was tweeting about it, then started making dramatic self-important statements about how hurt he was and made a thread to compile evidence on every little bad thing LuuLuBuu had done bordering on outright releasing his dox as a way of absolving himself of ever being friends with him.

Of course, people saw this desperation and laughed at his ass for it. He did not take it well.

Considering how many of them haven’t read anything except for Harry Potter, I doubt any of them are self aware enough to admit that they’re actually the Man.

Like, I’d almost respect the first one who just outright said “I’m just writing this for a paycheque.”
 
As long as it plays decently, I'll probably be baited by this game on nostalgia. Anything Harry Potter related has been such a shitshow since the last book, I almost forgot how much I loved this series as a kid. From the trailer, it seems like the devs at least care enough about the universe to make a highly detailed world, I'm just hoping they can follow through on the gameplay.

Also, if the game does well, it'll be worth it to see all these egocentric "justice" addicts seethe over the weight of their own impotence.

I won't believe these people truly find Harry Potter immoral and evil until they team up with a fundie preacher for a good ol' fashioned book burning. I want to see a good ol' time Baptist minister in a suit standing next to a blue-eyed tattooed genderblob as they lead their respective congregations of real Christians and fellow troons in tossing those EVIL Harry Potter books (and this game) into the flames.

small descrip of it...basically an auto attack/reflect spell against one guy, then a throw up in the air spell against another while finishing the third guy with a 'whip him towards me' spell.

The reason they want Rowling to bend the knee is because she was legitimately the last person to make a cultural zeitgeist out of something original - the MCU leans hard on the works of others before them. Having that kind of writer consistently telling them no infuriates them since she could easily seen doubt in newer generations.

She may be a hack compared to others, but her books were made to be easy to pick up despite the length. As such, they're easy for kids to get into and getting to the youth is critical to any movement. What would happen if she published books against the Anti-life equation that were also fun to read? That thought simmers in the back of a lot of the people that hate her, and it terrifies them.
