It's more that there are a lot of established warning signs in that case. Dropping the game suddenly, being hands off with review copies, years of media silence and recycled previews. Cases of games going through those and the result being good is very small.
At the same times, those red flags seems to be false positives too. Media silence and sudden drop were kind of mirrored with oblvion's remake, while the late preview featured the same areas of the first, some did pointed out that it was actually updated and featured new stuff, instead of remaining the same, giving no review copies because journalists do not deserve to play the game first is also a based response.
Oh this may be interesting...

Like Strangolaperti said, Media Silence isn't always a bad thing. Apex Legends was made it silence, announced and released the same day. It was an instant success on launch. The same thing happened with Fall Guys ironically.

Being hands off with review copies is fine. The entire point of Metroidvania games is to discover shit as you play and I feel like giving people review copies especially Corpo Journalists could be a bad thing, people are going to review it early either way, and some people are going to wait for the reviews before buying.

Media Silence again isn't necessarily a bad thing. It could be a case of the dev team being dedicated to their work. Yes it can also be a case of the devs hating each other and falling apart but we haven't heard anything of the sort from team cherry. Which is not something that happens. You'd have heard about the team falling apart, similar to how 343 did during Halo Infinites development.

And like the guy behind stardew valley said

No news is generally good news, they announced the game was going to finally release this year and they're releasing it.

Its wild to me that you can sit there and already write it off as trash when you haven't seen anyone play it or haven't played it yourself.

Steam gives a 2 hour refund window for a reason. If it's bad I'll get my 20 bucks back.

For his video he basically said that he hates boss run backs but Silksong is making him want to git gud.

So there's that

Oh this may be interesting...
So now that I've been able to watch it

He said the game is gorgeous and the gameplay is effectively a much more refined version of Hollow Knight with Hornet having more options at the start that the Knight didn't have. Which is something we knew.

So this is basically Super Metroid to Hollow Knights Metroid.

That may be exaggeration, super metroid isn't just metroid with fancier graphics and better gameplay, it was a colossal overhaul when compared to the previous two titles.

True maybe more in line with Super Metroid to Metroid Dread?

Or maybe Dark Souls to Dark Souls 2/3

I really wish there was a way to turn off Hornet shouting one of her 3 catch phrases every time you do anything in the game.

Like that one shrek game whwre you have specific buttons that nakes you fart and burp?
Sadly I have no frame of reference for those. Which is why I used the two games I did
Metal slug 1 was a pretty good arcade shooter with gorgeous pixel art, while 2 added a single new weapon, 3 vehicles, wider enemy variety and even transformations, 3 was actually the big one: half a dozen of brand new weapon types plus a stronger variant for any weapon that was introduced, even more vehicles with added difference in shot type, secrets being added everywhere across the enviroments and while it has only 5 stages while 1 and 2 had 6, all but one said stages do offer alternative paths, making it extrenely replayable (first stage has 3 possible paths, second has 2, third has 3 and F lost the count for the 4th) and the final stage is the stuff of legends, being an epic spamming as long as the previous 4 combined.

Every time you jump or attack Hornet shouts and it's mixed in way louder than the rest of the game. They didn't even record new ones it's the same old shit from the original game.

Also,
I watched the trailer for the first time ever and Hornet actually does make sounds every time you do anything, this is highly realistic.
There will probably be a way to turn it off but it's really funny that I called it, though I did specify it would be ADIEDO and SHAW.

"Save anytime." Does that mean the bench system is gone? Or is it just a sneaky way of saying "you can access the save points at (almost) any time" so that Team Cherry can get accessibility good boy points?

I checked Hollow Knight's page and there was nothing like that on there:

But, then again, it's not got any accessibility features listed, so I don't know if it's really a fair comparison...

Meh, either way, we'll know within 24 hours. Little point in speculating, I guess.

To be fair, OG Hollow Knight auto saves A LOT. I noticed it as I was playing. I think the game saved, but spawned you at the last bench you rested at, regardless.

This looks like a massive cope.

To be honest, when in regular Hollow knight you exited the game, it would save itself so that any progress like kills, items and money obtained would be kept. Silksong seems to retain the benches anyway.

I don't really know what kind of accessibilities this game need.
Difficulty modifiers and invincibility CHEATS are against the game's design and the people (like jim stephanie sterling) that categorizes them as accessibulity options are subhuman that should kill themselves.
If the game features a mechanic that revolves aroind sound, maybe subtitles or a replacement for that, or what toby fox did for the turtle statue encounter.
Colourblind mode could add an highlight around hornet and the game's enemies + interactable objects, but that too feels like a stretch.

Apologies for the double post, but it'd ruin the meme if it had some genuine speculation alongside it.
These are varying layers of suspicious to me.

Little Witch, Baby Steps, Cloverpit, all perfectly understandable, relateable even. I'll let them slide. No I'm Not A Human isn't budging, baller move.

Faeland and Daemonschool make me dubious. Faeland's at least in early access, so I doubt there's some wildly fundamental bug, and they've said that they're adding more platform support in this timeframe, but I'm skeptical. Daemonschool's actually got a new release date, but they apparently already delayed once and november's a big gap - they've said this is to allow a formerly cut (/maybe dlc) boss or two will now be base game, so that's nice but may just be talking out their ass.

Aeternum Lucis is sus as fuck. They also already delayed once, and they had to leave the entire year? With the only cited addition being getting more devkits for more platforms, likely switch 2? Not to mention both games are meant to be former-boss-now-protag games, and Lucis looks even more sus. No way is this just silksong motivated, they're struggling, guaranteed.
