Horrifying Things That Are Viewed As Normal

A minor one.

Over the week or so I couldn't play PC games as my power supply pooped itself so I had to get a new one, so since all I had was my poopy ass laptop when it came time to take a break from Console games I looked up some old webcomics I used to read and catch up to them.

The Core of one of the Major Stories that started oh maybe 2010ish maybe a little after is that the badguy corporation bought the settings version of Google, Twitter and well all Social Media companies in the setting and were actively using it to sway public opinion about their company and bury bad PR.

Less than a Decade later that storyline that was basically built on Parodies of Evil Corporations and Social Media became reality, and people cheer it on.

And crypto was before that. NFTs are just the greener grass on the other side for these people now that crypto has stagnated and there is a lot more awareness of it's pitfalls.
I still maintain that NFTs are mlms for terminally online bros.
The more I learn about the financial system, the more I realize it's a scam.

The truth is, the game was rigged from the start.

I've been distraught about the attitude that college is the end all, be all for higher education that's permeated high schools since I was going. I didn't get it then, I didn't get it now. Society is now full of self-important retards who think they're too good to work with their hands, and what is the result? Shortages of welders, plumbers, electricians, contactors, carpenters...meanwhile people my age are working the counter at McDonald's, whining how they aren't famous Vtubers when a well paying career is just a few months away. It's just a damn shame.

1) Ass to mouth, ass licking, and rimming. It used to be considered a thing gay men did but it’s a free for all now.

2) Unmarried people who plan pregnancies but refuse to marry because “it’s too much of a commitment”.

Creating and nurturing a human soul is supposed to be the biggest, most serious commitment of your life. But some people think it’s less serious than spending 15 minutes to get married at the courthouse. Wtf.

First thing is tourism. I love going new places but seeing pictures like these makes me want to stay in my corner of the world and force everyone to do the same.

Another thing is airplane food. People are really so fat that they cannot go a few hours on a plane without eating. It is so unnessasary and wasteful that airlines have to bring food 6 km up in the sky.
Last thing are cruiseships. Putting a hotel with restaurants, casinos, gyms, pools etc. on a boat is also unnessasary.

"Teens" and "juveniles" can literally harass local businesses, sling knives, beat people senseless, even KILL with little media attention or outrage.

At this point, a) start shooting, b) try them as adults, or c) charge the parents with neglect, disturbing the peace. This is ridiculous.
Children and teenagers are allowed to commit assault and other forms of harassment on each other all the time that, if they're a day over the age of 18 they would be imprisoned for. This is considered normal and acceptable because tHeYrE jUsT kIdS but it's the "just kids" that have to suffer living with it, it's a punishment on obedient kids.

I think you could reasonably kick the age at which you charge kids as adults down to 12 for most crimes and to age 0 for crimes like murder or, don't know an actual legal term for it, but aggravated torture.

Yeah, I hate being around other tourists. It would be so nice to tour Machu Picchu alone but then you go there and theres fat Americans stumbling around the place. It ruins the vibe. Maybe we should ban tourism. And immigration. But then I'd be stuck here too.

How normalized alcohol use is.

Alcohol damages your heart, liver, kidneys, pancreas, and brain. It's a class A carcinogen. It impairs your judgment and reflexes. It turns people into absolute retards who say and do the dumbest shit in the world, including thinking they're clear to drive with impaired judgment and reflexes. In 2019 there were 10,142 drunk driving fatalities. Hardly anybody mentions this, yet millions of people angst about gun violence. Deaths by firearm in 2019? 10,258, according to the FBI. Drunk driving deaths are neck and neck with firearm deaths, but CNN never sees fit to scare people about drunk driving during election years. It's addictive. Drink too much of it in one sitting, and you'll just fucking die. It affects your sleep and your appetite. It causes your dick to stop working. It affects your ability to absorb calcium, leading to osteoperosis. It causes fetal alcohol syndrome, a leading cause of lolcowdom. All this in exchange for a mild, temporary euphoria. Except sometimes it doesn't cause euphoria, sometimes it just makes you really depressed or angry. And the more you drink it over time, the more you need to drink to get that euphoria.

Only with alcohol will people look at a nightmarish list of effects like that and think, "It's fiiiiiiine, I'll just put a little bit of the brain-damaging carcinogen in my body so I can have more fun at this party. NBD."

If it wasn't so deeply entrenched in the history of almost every culture on Earth, people would treat alcohol the way they treat crystal meth. Yet alcohol use is so normalized that if you say you don't drink, people ask you for a reason. It's assumed that everyone drinks unless they have a reason not to.

One thing that has always bothered me is how it seems like people are more afraid of silly shit like aliens, ghosts, demons, or cryptids, when they should be afraid of REAL "monsters" like drug addiction, homelessness, mental illness, crime, etc. It's not the imaginary creatures that are out to get you, but the all those bad or fucked-up people in your community that you've normalized.

Completely correct
I think that for most people they can handle alcohol completely fine, but there is a large minority of people who can't, and while Prohibition was a failure I think the scale of dysfunction alcohol has caused is enough that it would have been better if it had just never been invented.
