Horrifying Things That Are Viewed As Normal

All these smart devices horrify me. Smart fridge, smart tv, smart lightbulbs, bluetooth/wifi air filters, ring doorbell, alexa, all the smart shit in newer cars (have you been in a '22? It recognizes your face and builds a profile that adjusts mirrors and seat height for you), most connected security cameras, fingerprinting on phones, smart locks, smart smart smart and people just keep putting it into their homes. House sat for one of those smart home friends recently during the heatwave and the smart thermostat was overridden via the company to set the temp at around 80 degrees inside and no matter what I did I could not get it to go lower bc the family didnt opt out of the government control part of their contract.....

The act of homosexuality and trangenderism being seen as socially acceptable and pushed onto kids. The former has been like that for decades.

Promiscuous sex and pre-marital sex being normalized as well as abortions being held as a human right rather than as a last resort to an unexpected medical problem during pregnancy that could kill the baby no matter what you do.

Companies playing along with the "gender identity" crowd.

Changing the race of characters that were previously white while getting angry over the reverse happening.

I am, I just find cosplayers in general to be insecure twats to use fictional characters as a means of gratifying their social ego. If they (the cosplayers) want to have a better image, why not hit the gym?

You kinda need to be in shape for most cosplays to work anyway.

I go to a local Renaissance fair every year, and can say with authority that hambeast ogres think dressing slutty is cruise control for sexy.

besides the control issue, more complex technology = more things to go wrong
if your smart lock has a software failure, that means you can't use it at all, and no amount of WD40 will get it moving

as someone with an engineering background, I'm all in favour of useful and efficient technology, but the west really has descended into sheer idiotic technofetishism

This Darrell Brooks trial makes me realize how lucky we are to have a civil, lenient justice system. Perhaps TOO lenient. This POS is allowed to be disruptive, disrespectful, and defiant not only towards the judge but to the American justice system as a whole.

Let's not forget that he's granted those privileges as an American citizen in spite of his blatant sociopathic hate to plow through a holiday parade. There are people in third-world countries that would LOVE to have even HALF the privileges and rights allowed to us as Americans.

The callous way climbers on Mt. Everest treat the dying and the dead. There's so many bodies around 8000m they call it Rainbow Valley and use the corpses as landmarks. If someone falls ill, they may be left to die because everyone climbing Everest is dying until they descend below the death zone. I'm not saying they should each grab a body and haul it back on their way down (even though packing out your trash is the rule in literally every other form of trekking), I'm just saying it's horrifying and they treat it like it's normal.

I despise how everything needs a fucking account to be useful. I can't even wirelessly connect a printer without signing over my soul to Hewlett Packard.

Several times I went to USA and found myself on the beach in the summer I was really shocked to see little girls, including toddlers, in bikinis. Why the fuck are you putting a small bra on a child who doesnt have boobs. Pretty much everywhere in the world small children run around butt naked at the beach, 5 year old girl wearing a bra is creepy as fuck.

How little people seem to care about politeness and good manners anymore.

I don’t mean we should all act like some Stepford Wife straight out of a 1950’s sitcom, but it amazes me just how nasty and rude people seem to be anymore and it’s normalized by the public.
What I've noticed recently is the lack of forgiveness, even when someone is truly sorry about something. As a child I learned that when someone says "I'm sorry" we should say "that's all right" or make some other expression of forgiveness. I don't think zoomoids do this. Instead they say something like "do better" or "educate yourself"...the other person may as well not have apologized at all. It's ironic because the little shits have such a boner for forcing apologies out of people. If you're going to demand apologies, be prepared to forgive someone when they give you one. Refusal to forgive is obviously an outgrowth of woke outrage culture...because really, if a straight/male/white person will always be incurably evil, why would you forgive them when they apologize?

Personally I think when someone expresses sincere remorse to me, the onus is now on me to forgive the person. Even people my age (30s) think this view is utterly insane.

I'm sure people have mentioned this 10 times over, but it really is quite gross how many parents out there like to flaunt their children on places like Facebook and other social media sites, especially if said kids have no clue what stuff is being posted publicly. If it's a group chat text message thing with family members, then yeah I don't mind it too much, but when you're posting it publicly for anyone to see is when I personally find it socially gross.

Mine: people being disturbingly open with their kinks and fetishes, both in person and online. We should all know less about each other.

Just sexuality now becoming the defining part of someone's identity is weird, I know my mate's gay but he's a stand up fella who loves his dog, does a great job, amazing cheff and rides a motor bike that I can only assume is a monster truck in training and has been there for me at some really difficult parts of my existance on this earth, his sexuality is such a minor facet of his existence it goes unnoticed but then you see a person who's whole identity is being gay - your more than just your naughty bits.

The normalization of pedophila in the film and music industry. So many child actors are victims of abuse but if the person who did it is well liked and successful normally nothing is done about it.

The sexualisation of minors is disgusting, where I shop there is a Girl on a advert for the young teen line of cloths that's borderline porn and you always see these old guys walk past clock the advert and look closely at it till they realise what they are doing an walk on side eyeing it as long as they can.

@RussianBlonde it's fucking disgusting that sort of thing even exists, something very sick is going on when it comes to kids cloathing and it seems to be getting worse.

Call me a dinosaur but I don't trust smart devices, I can see the utility but anyone who relies on them is asking for trouble, the one that always get's me is locks they are not secure and when they fail your fucked.

A guy I know has a car with a smart fob and no keys - the cars computer had a problem and they have 1 hidden key slot to unlock the car in a location prone to rusting the key didn't work so he had to call the Dealer to send some one out 2 days later to assist, the work they did to get the doors open and "Fix" the computer meant that the Plug-in part of his Plug-in hybrid stopped charging and was crippled in range and the computer wouldn't let the car go over a certain speed - the whole car ended up getting replaced.

My daily driver is a old ugly boxy Landy S3 dating back to 65 and has yet to have a breakdown that I couldnt fix myself, or in one case get a tow to a garrage who where able to fix it in under a hour and most of that was them trying to find a Seal that could fit (imperial car - metric parts) if I was closer to home I'd have been towed home and replaced it myself but 300 miles from home that wasn't going to happen.

My current fight with "Smart Tech" with my folks is over the meter they have for gas and electricity, they changed providers 3 times since it was installed and it's displaying the wrong readings and with the energy crisis talk they are trying to be frugal it was telling them they where spending 4X what they where and I had to spend 3 hours on the phone with the supplier sorting things out (including a refund). Then there is the "Smart TV" it keeps lowering the volume slowly supposedly to protect the TV and the listeners hearing one's legally Deff and has to use specialist headphones (that it reads as a surround system and lowers the volume on as well) and the other is border line legally Deff - the maufactures refuses to admit that this is a issue to them and wont issue a software update that corrects this so every 15min they have to raise the volume (I'm buying them a new TV - Fuck Samsung).

Despite being 6% of the dog population, pitbulls make up 77% of fatal dog bites. Yet, people STILL want them as pets. It's their nature to BE aggressive.

The clue is in the name "Pitt" they where never nanny dog's, they where bread specifically for 2 things - Large Animal control as part of a team (in English anything that stops a item being worked on from moving like a bit of wood is called a Dog after this kind of Dog breed) and for Pit fighting normally both these where working animals that people had to selectively breed to get the physicallity an temperment for the job and that can't be removed it's litterly written into the DNA of the animal to be like that, I am sure just through genetic quirks there are Pit's that are not agressive but they are very few an far between and the knobheads who use them as a socially acceptable weapon an status symbol are some of the worst dog owners on the face of the earth and normally scum in general.

Personally I think when someone expresses sincere remorse to me, the onus is now on me to forgive the person. Even people my age (30s) think this view is utterly insane.

Exactly, If I say I am sorry I stepped on your toe I really am sorry I stepped on your toe, if I say sorry for forgetting something or saying something, forgetting a event or I'm late to something I genuinely mean it and I will try and not do it again but if you try and guilt me for it or try and berate me for a genuine accident or a mistake I am going to call you a Cunt to your face.

You know what's really perplexing though the kind of twat who says "Do Better" or "Educate yourself" will often refuse to say what you did wrong or even try and explain how to do better next time and are often finding fault where there is no fault to begin with. If I've genuinely offended you with my words or actions and I can't see what's wrong tell me what I've done it and I've not been out right hostile and tried to cause offence to you I've not intended to do it so please tell me what's wrong or I can't even try to address your issue.
