I think horror movie directors, writers, whatever, like to put a dead dog in their flicks, just to have a laugh at bipolar baby dickheads losing their marbles, and being completely fine with everyone dying, just so as long as the poor furbaby is the last one standing... Haven't watched Good Boy yet, by the way.

You know what, seeing as I've opened the cursed well of spooky dog shite, I am fond of when Man's Best Friend turns monstrous. Not really bothered for Cujo, but that's sort of because I haven't seen it, and I wasn't around when it was new.

I'm gonna do a little, by loose definition, collage:

Because I watched an episode of Pointless (BBC quiz show), and there was a round about Will Smith films, I'm gonna include the Darkseeker Dogs, and poor infected Sam the German Shepherd:

And Pippin from Blood (2022), which Will Smith wasn't in, just to be autistically clear:

The Decedent (2025): I thought this movie utilized the found footage technique well and had an interesting premise even if the big reveal of the deceased was spoiled in the synopsis. All of the acting from the cast sounded believable and none of the characters were unlikeable (I even felt some sympathy for what happened to the pair of thieves in the third act). The practical effects were really good, especially in the live embalming scene, as was the digital effects given its small budget. I would not mind seeing another installment that is either a sequel or a prequel to show how the first series of killings started.

I saw that one, too, and I liked the found footage style, but through the style of surveillance cameras. Another film I saw that was at least partially found footage, on Tubi, too, but it seems to be gone now, for now, was a J-Horror called Howling Village.

If you want a laugh look in to Man's Best friend. It's about a dog that's a science experiment to build a super weapon and he escapes because of a bleeding heart journalist. Then the super dog terrorizes the city by, eating the mail man, going invisible and eating the goofy dog catchers, climbs a tree like a panther and swallows a cat whole, and rapes the neighbor dog so the movie can have sequel bait, AND the best part, the movies sound track is 1/2 horror film 1/2 goofy 90's dog movie for kids.

Hardly anyone seems to notice that the black guy was wrong and the jerk was right (about where to hide). I remember that being something that impressed me a lot the first time I saw it: it made it seem more real, and wasn't just a movie story that followed movie rules. The 90s remake simplifies the characters a bit, but of course nowadays movies are at a historic low point of subtlety and ambiguity regarding who the audience is supposed to agree with and which characters are supposed to be in the right. The race angle in the original is only really there if you need it to be there; the movie could be about a lot of things, and Romero always seemed to downplay that aspect.

I used to think this, but now I'm doubting it. It's horror! Stuff never quite gets forgotten when it's old, and if there's an exception, it's probably going to be streamshit like that. Skaarsgard does have a better shot of being "THE" Pennywise than any of the nu-Leatherfaces or whatever though. That's on the strength (well, popularity) of the movies though. Do people really watch that kind of shit once it's a year old, I mean really? Are there people out there watching that Watchmen series for the first time? Hard to tell but I thought all this stuff went into a black hole as soon as it disappeared from the Now Trending feed.

I do agree the hate is overblown, but I found it frustrating personally. I can see good elements in it, but the script felt like it was written as a TV show then edited down badly to be a movie and there was no overcoming that. You have characters and plot points that come in way too late to be developed well for a movie.

Seems darkly hilarious, yeah. Like if Krypto had a neighbourhood dog pal who was abducted, altered with some extraterrestrial splicing or spliced with CADMUS stuff, or some X-Gene was activated, and set loose. Cheers for the recommendation.

Yeah I think all of your criticisms are perfectly fine, but I enjoyed seeing Chad from Screaming Queens murdering a fuck ton of people, the cinematography was great, and it was just mindless action that was enjoyable for the most part.
 
Interesting...they show IT as an omnipotent being...Margaret is Richie's mother from the Loser's Club. He specifically talks about how that loser clubs kill him, but he doesn't know when in time he's at.

Edit: This whole 'Military wants to release an ultimate evil to contain race riots' really takes me out of it ngl

Edit2: The general literally tries to talk to It when It gets stuck in some weird mental lock

Saw the finale of Welcome to Derry. It was fine overall, but it does have a few issues.

- I think the military really went into retard territory, it would be fine if like Pennywise was controlling them, but what the hell is the General's endgame, like it would be one thing if he wanted to leave the cage open for Pennywise to come back 27 years later to reek havoc across the US, but it gets really silly that the rest of the military are following this.

- Pennywise somehow seeing the future is just stupid and feels like a convoluted setup for future seasons to have some time travel bullshit which feels just forced, like you can take it out and nothing changes. It especially doesn't make sense since it could just set up other seasons to be formulaic

Will say that the show does give me a greater appreciation for Bill's performance as Pennywise as while he isn't like Tim Curry, it makes sense since Bill is going for the idea of a monster trying to blend in as a human whereas Tim went for the child predator type of feeling, The stuff with Dick Halloran is really good (and think the casting for him is pretty good so if they do like some Shining remake given how unoriginal Hollywood is, they should keep him around).

Saw some other stuff too like Running Man (felt it was more like action slop) and FNAF 2 which was pretty shit
 
I don't like the
Pennywise knows the future
crap.

I don't like the pillars either. It's not from the book, and I don't think it's an interesting addition to the lore. In the book, It stays in Derry because it has no reason to leave. Why leave It's personal hunting ground? It simply likes it's cycle of eating and sleeping.
 
I hate that they turned one of my favorite books into propaganda. The blacks and the natives opposing the evil white people who want to unleash the evil child eating clown on the earth. Also, that Indian lady is the worst fucking actress. Her line delivery was just terrible.

So Ritchie and Mike's parents dont ever warn their kids about whats happening in the town? This plot is complete nonsense.
