How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

Livid.
Had to deal with a tranny at an electronic store.
Male to female, wearing a trans flag hoodie and headphones with cat ears.
I went there to trade in my old HEXbox because it isn't being used, they make awkward small talk about it and sigh
"You didn't factory reset it before you came?"
"I haven't even gotten an offer yet. "
"Fiiiine. "
They do their shit and I pick up a decent audio mixer and plan to use the money for the XBOX on it. I'm standing at the register and they're talking on the phone. I timed it, I stood there for 5 minutes before saying can I just get my shit back?
"Well actually you already signed the contract, we can only give you store credit. "
Fuck you, you'll never be a woman.

Read God Emperor of Dune.
Read all six of the "real" Dune books.

I just finished the first book last weekend, and it really was a weird and an interesting read. Specially the final act, with the knife duel tension and Alia doing Assassin's creed moves. I didn't expect to continue the books, but I think I'll give the sequel a chance.

I think the second to last Star Wars movie that everyone hated was trying to be Dune Messiah.

Dune Messiah may be the best second installment of any book series I've ever read, and that's precisely why it was a commercial failure.

It is my fondest hope to eventually write something that will piss such a percentage of my readers off while being half as good.

Adjusting to be housebound due to immunosuppression. Hence all my shitty posting. I just want to go back to work.
Be well, Kiwis. If you have a suggestion for something to watch or read, hit me up. Bored out of my skull and too weak.to do anything useful.

if you have netflix, the documentary 14 peaks: nothing is impossible is an interesting watch.
i balanced my excessive kf usage during my recovery with an equally absurd amount of inspirational documentaries.

found out today from my dad that my cousin got tossed in the Nut Hut by the cops. Apparently she became really crazy seemingly overnight a year or so ago, she was a total normie before that. I actually think it's kinda funny, some of the shit she was doing leading up to the cop incident was pretty out there

I've had a check engine for a couple weeks, but my car was running "normally" (well, as much as a 22 year old car thats rough around the edges can). So I was dumb (aka had anxiety) and didn't get it checked right away. We had a cold snap the past couple days and my car is... Well something is up with the transmission. I about had a panic attack or two getting to and from work wondering if my transmission would go from limping to just dead. Got a code read at an auto parts store across from my work, something with the clutch converter solenoid. I know where that is now and what it kind of does, but is that even the main problem?

Auto repair shops in my town don't open back up until Monday so I guess I'll have another stressful jaunt to a shop soon. If i can make it. Hoping it's not an arm and a leg. I'm also worried they're just going to find a bunch of other issues I might not know about and the total quote will be more than what I paid for it. I did pay below market price cause old car+bought from an acquaintance. But still. I've been saving up for a newer car but I'm not there yet. I guess if I have enough to cover repairs so I can keep it going until I save up more, it'll even out

Weird AF cosmic timing — I just had my 21 year old car fixed (just picked it up today after being car-less for 3 weeks). I was a pedestrian/cyclist for 10 years before I got a car and can live that way just fine…. …but I REALLY like having a car (a decade living and working w/o car was enough — I did my time). It was way more expensive than I thought, but I can’t get another car for what it cost to fix it. Besides, I quite love my little old fart’s car and will keep it as long as possible (w/o getting too tin foil-y, I don’t like or trust newer cars). I also got it to pass smog test in CA, which felt like trying to win a class action lawsuit (stupid state). Feeling triumphant.

I hope everything goes well for you and your car. Sending as much good vibes as I can.
