How did you find out Phil in the first place?

I think I randomly came across either the Jak and Daxter or Lords of Shadow tihydp. Found out there were more, and randomly came across Tenon's content which really introduced me to pig world.

I may have clicked on one of his videos back around his camera capture, immediately clicked off it becuz the audio was just terrible. Plenty of creators were uploading direct capture by then, and then about 3-4 years back saw the down the rabbit hole vid about dsp and here i am today!

Friend introduced me to him after they saw his Spider-Man web of shadows play through. stopped watching around the time before he moved to the wakhando. Rediscover after watching tevins thanksbegging video

A few years ago a friend sent me a link to a video of a middle aged livestreamer accidentally masturbating in front of his camera to an audience. After laughing to the point of tears for 10 minutes straight I decided I needed to look into who this unfortunate gentleman was.

TIHYDP, was looking for a guide and instead I got Phil (his actual playthrough was nowhere to be seen). I was in stitches for the next few days watching nothing but TIHYDP’s and I was just scratching the surface. This would have been in 2014 or 2015.

Like a lot of people, it was that Retsupurae video. But then I kept getting TIHYDP reccomended. But it was always MGS stuff and I was like, I don't need two hours of some sperg lord being bad at MGS. I can do that just fine. Then I think I was looking up SF4 videos to try and learn from people. And saw a TIHYDP SF4, and was like this should be an educational dos and donts of the game.

My life was changed.

MVC3 came out and it was the first fighting game I had a real interest in learning. I looked for a youtube tutorial and Phil's popped up. It was actually pretty helpful for a complete noob and I subscribed to his channel. The online gameplay videos started to drip out (1 match at a time) and was mostly Phil crushing noobs, until he started losing. Only then were the games laggy, online play, dropping my inputs dood etc. I went back and watched some of his SFIV and the video of him losing to the terrible Ken that changed the round length to thirty seconds was the video I realised Phil was an internet treasure for all the wrong reasons. How could anyone predict just what a goldmine he'd turn out to be?

For me it started about 5 years ago with me looking up footage of people screwing up and raging at GTA games. Even back then laughing at people who blame the game for their fuck ups was peak humor for me. Eventually I get recommended chaffXgrenade’s TIHYDP San Andres video and I was instantly hooked.

Muh soulmate once showed his FNAF "review" video out of context to see my reaction. At the time, I was flabbergasted and got war flashbacks to an ex-friend who had a similar pompous attitude with video games and "real art".

Forgot about the dood until Knudsen and Metokur videos jogged my memory of the previous paragraph. I think Susan graced me with a random Street Fighter Tevin restream. I was entertained, but still didn't get the appeal.

I later watched a few of his Back in Time vids out of boredom, got massively confused who "Kat" was when there was so much Leanna footage... and boom, the hooks sank into me.

Since then, muh soulmate has to put up with me constantly chatting about my favorite equivalent of trash TV (bless them for doing so). They had stopped following Phil for quite a while, and now suffer the consequences of showing me that FNAF video all those years ago LOL.

Back in August of 2009, I was just browsing Youtube's gaming section looking for a new game to play. I saw "Bioshock HD playthrough part 1" by a channel called "Darksydephil". I clicked on it considering it was a game I was already interested in for awhile. First thing I noticed, like someone else earlier in the thread, was his shitty whiny voice. Then I got in to his SF4 vids and loved to watch him lose his shit. The rest is history.

New to the forum after a few years of lurking.

Found the roach as I was watching someone play RE2 about 4 years ago on Twitch. The person playing messed up and said something like "atleast I won't be blaming it on the game like someone I know". Someone in the chat started name dropping and told everyone to look up tihydp. Haven't stopped watching.
