Boneless if I'm dipping. I like to dip buffalo in ranch.

If I'm trying something new or just want a dry rub, I'll usually get regular wings. I prefer boneless simply because its easy and you get a nice mouthful every time. Usually has a good crunch too.

There's a place in my hometown that sells boneless wings glazed in Jamaican jerk sauce. It is objectively the perfect kind of wing and no I will not listen to any opinions that say the contrary

I can't do too spicy for powerlevel reasons, but a good sweet/spicy sauce is my jam. Slight preference for boneless so I can stab them w/a fork. Ranch is almost always a mandate outside of dry-rub wings.

It depends…

If I’m eating out or getting take-out it‘s usually from Wing Stop in the form their Louisiana Rub flavor (a “dry” rub that consists of said wings being tossed in a garlic-butter sauce mixed with their cajun seasoning and finished with a sprinkling of said seasoning) and lemon-pepper. Wing Stop used to have a Brazilian citrus pepper flavor and a harissa lemon-pepper flavor that I liked but they we’re limited-time.

In the rare chance I’m going to Buffalo Wild Wings I get their lemon pepper sauce and their Parmesan-garlic sauce since they lack a good substitute for WS’s Louisiana Rub flavor.

If I’m cooking wings at home I fry ‘em, whenever I tried to bake ‘em they never came out righT. Flavors consist of knock-offs of BW’s Lousiana Rub flavor and lemon-pepper flavor.

I only have boneless “wings” once in a blue moon due ‘em being glorified chunks of white meat and not a proper replacement for the dark meat you get from a bone-in wing.

Good as that sounds, it is indeed strange to call it a dry rub. Even the Pizza Hut dry rub cajun wings (which actually are pretty good. Say what you want about their pizza, but they do put effort into their chicken wings) really are proper rubs.

Yeah, a lot of their “dry” rubs use some form of liquid margarine to help the dry rub stick onto the wings and amplify the flavor so they’re technically a sauce.

Boneless, in lots of buffalo sauce with some blue cheese sauce on the side.

I haven't had wings in forever. I'm partial to dry rubs because I hate having sticky hands, but I could go bone in or out either way. I think I'll order some this weekend.

I appreciate places that have mango habanero wings. I like the fruit + spice combination; some of the best wings I had were pineapple and thai chili, which I thought would be horrible but turned out to be delightful.

I prefer boneless simply cause it's easier to eat with a fork, but have no problem with bone in and will take it if the price is less. Typically a buffalo sauce or teriyaki sauce of some kind. When I'm feeling wild I'll go with Jamaican Jerk. Prefer blue cheese to ranch, but don't hate ranch by any means.

I fucking hate ranch.

I don't know how people can eat that shit.

When i go to a place and i see they have wings, if they tell me they come with ranch, i get up and leave. Even if i don't get no wings. If you serve wings with ranch, i don't wanna do business with you.

I'm very easy. I'm very fucking easy. Wings must be served with blue cheese, like the way they invented them in New York. Do it original, don't fucking shove it with that ranch, smells like somebody's ass. Only hillbillies that like to taste ass in their mouth like ranch.

I hate that fucking ranch shit.

It's either blue cheese with wings or go fuck your mother.

If I had the choice bone-in because they're more flavorful, but if I'm working or gaming I get boneless just because I can easily eat them with a fork and not get my keyboard covered in sauce.

I usually get them with sauce on the side so i can try different sauces, so if one sucks I can throw it out and if one is good I can get more for later.

Bit of advice: If you're baking wings in the oven leave them in the fridge overnight on some kind of rack and don't put any sauces on them. it will dry them out enough they will crisp up in the oven. Don't know if you've already tried that before but I've had great results prepping them like that.

I was going to say bone-in, but now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever had a boneless wing. I do prefer boneless thighs, so maybe I should try them out sometime.

As for flavor, either BBQ sauce, breaded, or mild buffalo. I also used to go to this campground when I was younger, and there was an Asian food stand that made some kind of sweet chicken wings. I want to say it was Korean or Thai?

I'm gonna go with a hunch that this is the sauce they've used at the Asian food stand. Frank's also has a version.

remember that if you order boneless wings you're not getting real wings, boneless wings are made of white breast meat while proper wings are dark meat
Wings are considered white meat. Maybe they're not as bland as breast meat, but legs and thighs are dark.

I do agree with boneless wings, though, and some places will pass off basically chicken nuggets as boneless wings (I'm looking at you, Domino's).

brine -> fry -> no sauce or just a touch of sweet BBQ and blue cheese dressing

No flour, starch or breading necessary.
