No cartel would touch Ralph with a ten foot pole. At best they’ve bought his lost/stolen his passports. But, Ralph would love such a rumor to take hold.
Ralph can get by on his meager e-begging in Mexico. It’s a shitty standard of living, but he e-begs enough to maintain his third world cinderblock abode.
What would be basic low rent in the USA ($1200) would cover all of Ralph’s monthly expenses in Mexico. (Rent, phone, food, drugs). I’d say Ralph’s biggest difficulty is trying to scrape together child support payments on top of his monthly living expenses. His truck is gone because couldn’t afford its upkeep and payments. (I figure he stopped payments a long time ago, but then couldn’t pay to get it fixed from all his Xanax driving. It wasn’t going to be able to be street legal anyway so he probably let a garage buy it for a few hundred bucks)
Ralph moved to a place in Mexico that was geared entirely for retired American snowbirds living on social security checks. The funny part is the elderly Americans just spend the winter there. Merida is cheap enough the retirees can afford to stay there from Nov to April while also maintaining their American residence.
Ralph is broke so he lives there year round, but he can definitely survive in Merida for $1k a month. He lives like a bum in a cinderblock hovel, but it’s definitely within his meager budget. Him traveling and not e-begging for two weeks will definitely put the hurt on him. He is definitely hand to mouth now when it comes to income, he has burned through what reserves he had and has no credit. Giving the steep decline in his donos I doubt he could even get a decent stripe loan now, but he’s probably still trying to pay off one. Ralph is the guy as soon as he pays off a loan he immediately gets another one and blows it like a moron.
