I hate to burst your bubble but goth has ALWAYS been a thing and only just recently got popular again. (Also every woman has black clothing? Ever heard of little black dresses?)

Women see these labels that men bestow upon worthy women; goth gf, muscle mommy etc, and instead of going "that does not apply to me", they see a woman getting the admiration she herself desires, so she goes "Im gonna call myself MOMMY on all my socials!".

This is a form of mimickry. Men do it too pretending to be mgtow and alpha/sigmas or whatever it's just more noticable in women.

There are and always have been goth women since the subgenre arose. There's always been a music scene around it. Goth only recently got positive attention from men where before it was seen as weird or niche. Often times, the same people who might have found it weird 10 years ago can now see the appeal in it because of social attitude changes to the looks.

These are usually BPD queens who are young 20 somethings who want attention. If you see "goth girls" who just goth out but don't know the music or anything about the subculture you have a BPD mimick and not a real goth girl. I suggest learning about the subculture before you dive in.

Goth died around 2010 and I blame VNV Nation. However it's back. Even back then the current wave of new coldwave was starting. There is a ton of fantastic new music in this genre and things are dandy. Goth girls have always and always will be around. It's an aesthetic. With the gear off, they are still women and nothing between men and women has ever changed.
