What I find so fascinating is that they cancelled the game even though it was already in a playable beta state and they had already sunk over $800m into it. Even the most basic business sense would inform you to cut whatever unfinished features you have, spend a month or two of crunch to squash bugs, and release whatever mongrel you're able to stitch together just to recoup some of the investment.

The fact that they decided to just eat damn near a billion dollars in pure loss tells me either the game was so bad that they thought it would do enough reputation damage to compound that loss or there's some really serious political fuckery going on.

A lot of investors will be pissed off with this. Don't get why people are still thinking they can make it in this oversaturated market. Team Fortress 2 had way more players than LawBreakers when it came out, and that came was ten years old at the time. No learning from LawBreakers, although whoever was the creative director of this game probably had a better outlook on society and attitude than Cliff Bleszinski.
 
This game is a prime example to millennials and older zoomer game devs that younger zoomers and Gen Alpha don't find them cool. They don't think trannies, drag queens, "smashing the fash", Reddit humor or the like is cool and hip. They find it lame, cringe and gay. Millennials and older zoomers need to realize that they aren't the rebels fighting the man anymore. They are the man and the younger generation has had it with them and their gender cult commie shit. I mean, this game reads like a Trumblr fanfiction written by a millennial woman who identifies as non-binary and binge watches Ru Paul's Drag Race and whose Twitter profile is filled to the brim with the usual mental illness nonsense. It would have been a laughing stock for Sega and I can see why they canned the game and are gutting the staff at CA.

I'm not surprised in the least bit this game crashed and burned before it could even take off. You already knew this game was gonna be battlepass galore with a lootboxes and micro transactions out the wazoo. You already knew it was gonna be DOA on launch day.

Because it's not being meant to attract troons, rather instead it's to collect ESG money and show everyone how much you value diversity. If you look at what sort of characters troons always fawn after, it's always characters like Astolfo, Felix, or Bridget. Or some cutesy anime girls.

As for ugly characters. We had an entire two decades of feminists and sexually insecure women crying about how games were all objectifying women, and now we're stuck with mystery meat girlbosses or iconic female characters getting character assassinated in the name of 'realism' (ie appealing to people who will never buy your game while core audiences don't buy it). Lara Croft is the best example of this. She went from being a sexy badass gunslinger to being a boring melodramatic generic girl with a bow and the sex appeal of a brick.
 
Sega is stupid rich from their gambling sector. There have been internal documents that have asserted that they only continue to do video games as an IP farm and for PR. If this game damages their PR then any potential revenue won't be worth it.
 
Can we please stop having AWFL's (Affluent White Female Liberals) make games now? They and trannies have done so much damage to the industry. Only by getting rid of them and their tranny pets can the game industry recover.

Man, I really wish someone could step up and make a class based shooter that isn't a clown show. tf2 gets no updates and its server browser is a ghost town, Overwatch basically jumped of a cliff this year, if one company just made a decent game like this that wasn't generic live service slop it'd be huge

Or you can just stick to doing game emulation and trying to still live in the imaginary cave one has built ignoring the many pitfalls that the gaming industry have made.

Either way, more stories like this will continue unless we get a video game industry crash.

Overwatch was ineptly designed from the outset. Giving a character the ability to resurrect the entire team is an awful idea and the game only went downhill.

In that case they should make or publish a troon simulator, just like how Squeenix published a power washing cleaning simulator.

They better show a stinkditch there in full detail, fully modeled in 3D just like that vagina from HL2 cinematic mod or troons will riot just like they did for George Floyd.
