This is disturbingly Lovecraftian.
To help reinforce that, a response from an acquaintance that I shared this with:
Thats......really fucking horryfing
and considering how some of this is, with the audio files and the fact there is a forum for these sort of people, it makes one wonder why they'd do this sort of thing outside of wanting to fulfill some fantasy.

Many of the individuals on the website seem to be troubled or anti-social. Why they choose to alter their minds with MLP-based, unprofessional hypnotism instead of trying to improve their lives with psychoanalysis or simple self-motivation is beyond me.
Perhaps it's just to escape reality and live a fantasy where they are some sort of fictional character.

Fitting, when we consider the fact that the phenomenon really began with an sjw bawwing about how the show wasn't sjw-y enough. You know, I always wonder, did the author of that article keep an eye on it? Do they realize what their screed created? Do they feel regret?
I'm certain they regret it all the way to the bank.

Equestria is pretty utopian where things are simpler and nicer. Everyone has a job they're happy with, you know what your purpose in life is from your cutie mark, magical and no pony will ridicule them for their flaws. Humans are not always nice, more complex and have major faults so why be one?

Because life is not meant to be as you have described it.

It was the spa one. I thought his voice had the same creepy quality as Elron.

Oh, definately. I was just hoping it was going to include his.... Strange... Manner of speaking. The whole randomly breaking into and out of stereotype accents...

Honestly, I thought he sounded a little bit Scandinavian (Or maybe German) but it creeped me right the fuck out when he was all "You see a cute blue maned pony run towards you, and her pretty sister with a pink mane." something about his accent coupling with what he was saying just rustled my jimmies.

My faith in the brony fandom is all but dead now.

Well, do remember that in this thread you all seem to be judging the entire fandom based on the most vocal and insane 1%. It's not like sane bronies have any control over what these waterheads do. If it wasn't ponies, it'd be Care Bears or Mighty Max or SOMETHING. The responsibility for stupid shit done rests on the ones that do it, not with the group they claim to be inspired by. Sam Harris doesn't represent all atheists any more than WBC represents all Christians.

I have a lot of respect for groups like Bronies for Good, and the scholarship and various charities founded and maintained by bronies, personally, so that is the subset I try to keep in mind. Not the batshits who wind up eing talked about here.

As someone who identified as a Brony for a long time I sometimes can't help but wonder just what the fuck happened to that fanbase. I remember back in 2011 it wast just that cute, optimistic cartoon that made people happy and I thought it was just what the world needed more of. But now I look at these Tulpas and Hypno ponies and all the creepy sexualised fanart and i wonder how we got here. It's depressing, really.

Same. I used to identify myself as a brony before I came to this site. Then I found out about... well... this side of the fandom and realized I probably don't want to be associated with them. So now I just consider myself a casual fan of the show.

I predict there will be a cult based around ponies. All of the followers will be wearing colorful robes with masks that resemble the Mane Six.

So what shall it be? Will you join the herd? Or will you die here?

Join! DIE! Join! DIE!

As someone who has never even seen an episode of MLP, I really don't get anything related to the fandom. Especially this shit.

But as someone who posts on a forum based around various weirdos, surely you can see why this crap happens.

CLUE: It begins with A...

There is Autism and then there is this shit.
This.

Arno Schmidt, a German novelist whose works I like a lot, would probably be diagnosed with autism if he lived today, as he was a perpetual loner who was obsessed with maps, cartography, geometry, logarithmic tables and astronomy (these topics feature in every story ever written by him). Note that these are pursuits which are traditionally consired acceptable for an adult human being. Pastel-colored cartoon ponies are a wholly different cup of tea. Maybe I'm overly conservative in this respect, but the infantilism brought about by the present-day deluge of popular entertainment sort of worries me.

Considering that said popular entertainment includes kids shows while Arno Schmidt's obsession focused on the likes of geometry and astronomy, no doubt one can be worried. At last with the latter which Schmidt obsessed over could make contributions to the likes of cartography, astronomy and the like if possible. An obsession with a kids show on the other hand doesn't make much contribution save and since said obsession over a kids show also brings up this hypno-stuff, it can no doubt lead down to much more disturbing things.

Thankfully we have our Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad. Hell, even A Nightmare on Elm 3 inspired viewers to give up drugs (the woman who played Taryn actually got fanmail about this.) I just don't entirely know how it got this crazy.

I was one of the OG Bronies. I used to be proud of that label.

The problem was, that over time, and over the seasons, I saw what was basically a group of people who supported a pretty good TV show with a positive message for little girls devolve into a squabbling, backstabbing nest of trolls with no further interests than the latest "Clop" drawing, and assorted mental/sexual perversions like the topic in this thread.

I'm still a fan of the show, but I don't admit in public anymore. It makes me sick that some members of the fanbase have taken a program with such a good basic message and corrupted it like they did.
