Well, do remember that in this thread you all seem to be judging the entire fandom based on the most vocal and insane 1%. It's not like sane bronies have any control over what these waterheads do. If it wasn't ponies, it'd be Care Bears or Mighty Max or SOMETHING. The responsibility for stupid shit done rests on the ones that do it, not with the group they claim to be inspired by. Sam Harris doesn't represent all atheists any more than WBC represents all Christians.

I have a lot of respect for groups like Bronies for Good, and the scholarship and various charities founded and maintained by bronies, personally, so that is the subset I try to keep in mind. Not the batshits who wind up eing talked about here.

See, here's my thing about that.

At this point, I don't know that it's a vocal minority. Sure, this and Jin, that's a minority.

But assholes of one sort or another make up at least 25% of the fandom, and that's a very generous 25%. I'm sorry, I feel I can safely judge Bronies based upon the folks I encountered in the early days who felt the need to thrust the show upon everything they encountered, regardless of the interest of the target, and the assholes who have taken it to a psuedo-religious level with their borderline-cultish rambles about the "Message" and "Lessons" of the show, exemplified in my personal favorite, the attitude that anybody who does not like bronies and or MLP just doesn't appreciate the "Message" of the show. So no, I don't think that assholes are a minority among Bronies.

This shit? Sure. It's a minority.

I read the tulpa topic with those spergs.....but really. Wow.

I was one of the OG Bronies. I used to be proud of that label.

The problem was, that over time, and over the seasons, I saw what was basically a group of people who supported a pretty good TV show with a positive message for little girls devolve into a squabbling, backstabbing nest of trolls with no further interests than the latest "Clop" drawing, and assorted mental/sexual perversions like the topic in this thread.

I'm still a fan of the show, but I don't admit in public anymore. It makes me sick that some members of the fanbase have taken a program with such a good basic message and corrupted it like they did.

Yes lots of things are ruined because of these creatures. Kids stuff. Children. People's childhoods. Twisted and perverted. I had a my little pony lunch kit with a thermos when I was four. I never knew that when I grew up....oh the horrors I would see.

I was curious enough to ask the forum about how they manage physically (from that pondering in an earlier post) under an alias. These were the two responses I got...

Pony 1
Well, there's several ways to tackle this and similar problems:

1. The hypnosis "didn't work" (although this might be because of #2)

2. Ghost hooves. You have the feeling of hooves, though you are still able to operate your hands fully, fingers and all. Think of it as a hoof outline over your hands and imagine seeing how your hooves would work while the hands can still operate normally.

3. Hooflock. This is when your hands either clench in a tight fist or become loose and limp (depending on the pony) where the user is unable to operate their hands. There's ways to get around this, one is by trying to operate objects as best as you can with your hooves (dgnz- wjhe yhyu see tyhpio ng thaty looks lioke thios*). Other times you can use your mouth to pick up and grab things. Just, for the unicorns and alicorns out there, try not to pick things up with your magic here, it wont' work as I've attempted several times
tongue.png
(unless, of course you are indeed that skilled in levitation, in which case teach meeeeeeee~~!)

Pony 2
Its not like we run back and forth on all fours. We just superimpose that existence over this one.

Fysically we still walk on 2 legs. But we perceive it as walking on fours. At least that is how I do it.

Hooflock can be annoying, but it is not crippling. If you really need to do something. It generally turns itself off.

And as for talking with different people. Well, most smart people know how to converse with them and to use our human name.

Uh-oh, sometimes I wake up with a clenched fist and I can't move my fingers for a few minutes. Clearly I am a former pony.

You can't follow the rules of friendship and magic when you have no friends to actually be with... or admitting that you can't use magic with your phantom unicorn/alicorn horn that you've imagined--

I never thought I would say that combination of words together.

Go wash out your mouth with holy water.

Better yet, I'll just set it on fire, then douse it with some holy water and gargle with Listerine for three hours.

I can still taste the insanity.

One thing I really wonder about the people that actually want to be ponies, and live in Equestria.

Do you actually watch the show? Like honestly, for real?

Equestria in general- and Ponyville in specific- is a completely insane place. Seriously. Dragons, Huge beasties everywhere, you have to take care of all the flora and fauna, AND weather. Every twenty minutes or so a musical number breaks out, and everything is apparently run by 13-year olds.

It's kinda like a rock concert. It's fun to watch, but their is no way I'd have it in my backyard.

People like that wouldn't care. They don't care that it has no continuity or sense. All they know is everyone in the end hugs and giggles and loves each other and they can all have rainbow sprinkles and cupcakes and gumdrops at some ponyfag feast with a horrible song put in for no reason. In the end, everyone's happy and there's no consequences or responsibilities, and that's what psychotic outcasts like these people obsess over just as much as the bright colors and high-pitched laughter.

I'm sure a number of them do, especially the ones that want to be the Mane 6 for a minor pony. Here's something about the final episode of season 4 that one person using the Twilight Sparkle files had to say...

1.) Loss of my cutie mark
My cutie mark... that was actually physically painful... I can't bring myself to watch even a few minutes of that episode again. Ever. It was a great episode from the point of the average viewer, but from the point of Twilight... I cannot bear any of it again.

2.) The Library

Another loss. I lost my own home... It was also painful. The new castle... It doesn't make up for it. Not at all.

3.) The attack on my friends

Possibly the worst part... There's not really much I need to say about this. I literally hunched up when my friends were attacked. Like I was punched. Hard.

I'm not going to be recovering for the next few days... I might just need to be left alone for a while.

Here's the responses...

-You're experiencing something very similar to what Soarin and I went through during the Rainbow Falls episode.*hugs* Watching this episode did impact me slightly (especially as a unicorn considering where a big source of magic is), it wasn't as big as that episode was.

-I doubt my area of domain or a pony resembling me will ever be seen, but it could perhaps be effected. I understand what you guys mean, though. It's similar to real life. Sometimes, bad stuff happens, and your destiny and choices are forced upon you.

-It broke my heart seeing my mom and my cousin and aunt get hurt like that... I know Celestia is ok. It still hurt though. *hugs Twilight tightly . You're never alone Twilight. I' m always here if you need me. (This is a Spike the Dragon one.)

-While it has some good action scenes and was different to say the least, it was a bit disturbing to have the library completely blown to pieces; especially since it could have been easily saved with some of the excess power. First to force Twilight to prematurely become an Alicorn and then they do this. Must each season end with such change.

Princess Celestia: "Let's pour all three of of our god-like magical powers into an utterly-unprepared 12 year old, and set her out to save our kingdom!"

Princesses Luna & Cadence" 'YES! This is a GOOD idea!"

Princess Twilight: "HURRKKKHHH!!!"

Granted, it's debatable how old the Mane 6 are. Some guess between 16 to early twenties.

After reading this thread, I don't know whether to laugh hysterically, or run screaming into the night. It seems like every time I think I've seen the absolute nadir of batshit craziness online, I hear about something that's even worse.
