While I will admit alot of environmentalism is just shouting at regular people(very likely due to corporate lobbying and influence) how is getting cities restructured bullying normal people? Explain it.I very much appreciate this thread being created.
These people are the latest offspring of the very same green crazies that our schools and actual scientists have had to put up with for the past 30 - 40 years. They were definitely fed Moore & Gore documentaries all throughout their childhood, and probably grew up thinking they'd never get old enough to actually reach adulthood because their country would be underwater/burned to a crisp by the sun, so have a permanent childlike outlook on the world.
Pocket tyrants, to sum them up in two words. They use the excuse of altruism to make life miserable for the rest of us, since we never drank the same Kool-Aid that they did. They want us to be miserable because they grew up miserable due to the aforementioned doom porn fucking up their brain during development.
One thing unites them equally; they will NEVER go after a government or large corporation. Partly because they're scared, and partly because even if they could, it wouldn't give them the same feeling of power as dictating the lives of those who never cared about them when they were young.
90% of them couldn't give a shit about improving transport infrastructure and making the world a greener place; they just want those who used to look down upon them to suffer. They want the Chad who stole their possible girlfriend with his dad's Trans-Am to be forced to ride the bus. They want the soccer mom who ran over their basketball keeling her huge frame over on a bicycle. They want power, but don't actually want to put in the work to get that power, so want to push those who they view have more power than them down to their level, and below.
As a wise anon on cuckchan's /o/ once said, these people are bullies at their core, but lack the body and presence to actually be one. Instead of slapping, they worm their way into positions of power and legislate.
I think they just hate freedom (as boomer as that is to say) and a car or any vehicle really is one of the most important signs of independence from most authorities. Sure you have to pay for gas and maintenance and insurance and shit and you are bound by traffic laws but by and large if you have a car you can go basically anywhere and do what you want.Without cars we only have bikes, feet, and public transportation (which the government ultimately controls). These people are probably just useful idiots, but the end goal of their ideology is limiting our freedom of movement.
The same people that lament the lack of passenger rail also fucking love tracks to trails projects without a hint of awareness.Thousands upon thousands of miles of railroad track were pulled up to save on maintenance cost and to save on taxes.
He is the most reasonable of the bunch and I agree with some of his points, but he's still just as autistic as the rest.I've mentioned it earlier but I'm not sure if NotJustBikes belongs here
He's an odd one. Recently he kinda showed up in my recommendations, and I liked the videos. He made many decent points, and stuff like the Commieblocks vs Skyscrapers thing absolutely make sense when you listen to him. Commieblocks were very good housing for the time, back when urban housing had very little in terms of amenities, and were usually overcrowded and in poor condition. The commieblocks, being standardized prefab constructions, could be erected fast, and since they were new, they had stuff like bathrooms in each flat. Which was a huge deal. And they also built new schools and all sorts of things right next to those blocks. So in principle the commieblocks were great back then, but of course from today's perspective they're shit because the construction techniques are not great anymore and standards have risen again. His main thing is that mid-rise (up like 13 levels, but mostly 4-6) apartment blocks are the most efficient housing solution per area and generally the best for a good social life if implemented properly in terms of city planning (green areas in between, good public transport access and so on), and that skyscrapers are not very efficient unless it's an area of limited space. In an area where the space isn't that limited he deems skyscrapers mostly pointless prestige objects and a waste of money and energy.First off, I largely agree with many of Adam Somethings' points.
What I don't agree with, however, is his glorifying of bughive shit.
He claims that quality of life in a big city is so much better than in suburbs, because you have all amenities close to you.
You know what you also have close to you? At least 8 other households let's say in a commie block. Chances are extremely high that you will have a schizo next to you in some way that keeps you up at night or any other nuisance. The mental health argument goes straight out the window then.
Also, his neurotic hate of cars is misplaced for everyone that doesn't subscribe to the bughive ideal. Myself included.
I live in a rural area, the public transport situation is as follows: buses go like every two hours and due to the amount of stops it takes 4 times longer than me just driving my car to work.
Trains aren't even possible because of elevation where I live, the next train station is 8 miles away in the forest.
Yet these "urban planners" seem to have no clues of the real world and seem to think you can solve every problem with public transport.
Wait until you find his Discord, I wanted to join there to debate the prevalent hatred of individual transport, but left after 5 minutes after seeing the sheer amount of tranny flags and commie shit they were discussing. But the more I watched his videos I noticed a rather unpleasant political edge
Sounds exactly what I imagined it to be.Wait until you find his Discord, I wanted to join there to debate the prevalent hatred of individual transport, but left after 5 minutes after seeing the sheer amount of tranny flags and commie shit they were discussing.
Also fun was the alt checker bot that locked you down until you've fed him enough info to greenlight you. Literal Stasi shit.
Whenever I see that pic of Breezewood, Pennsylvania I have to post a photo of it not taken at a horrible angle through a telephoto lens:since its on the theme of this thread i might as well
Forcing people onto public transit where their freedom of movement can be easily and trivially curtailed(see what China is doing to bank protestors right now if you want an example), and they are at the mercy of their local crazy people. Forcing people to accept smaller and more densely packed homes and then emotionally blackmailing them that they don't care about the environment when they don't wanna smell their neighbor's ass every day. Forcing people to accept their roads being ripped up to make room for bike lanes and collective urban farms, or else they don't care about pedestrian/bike deaths. While I will admit alot of environmentalism is just shouting at regular people(very likely due to corporate lobbying and influence) how is getting cities restructured bullying normal people? I'll ask again, do you really not understand the Great Reset and the ways the powers that be are trying to force people into more ecofriendly(read: cheaper to maintain)? Are you really unable to see how this movement coincidentally (((organically))) sprung up right around the same time we've had record inflation and rich people buying up properties? Are you really not understanding the slide to neofeudalism going on here? Or are we operating on British rules, where we may only consider something a threat and defend ourselves when the wolf is literally at our throat?
Man I could've worded this post less awkwardly. Wouldn't you agree?I seriously doubt the elites would advocate for this because having a walkable society means, you don't have to buy a car and would screw over the car industry, it would also decrease social isolation and obesity which is what the elites don't want. Lets say the elites really did want this to come up it would come firmer and harder and not be some niche thing only some people know about. The world becoming a shithole like this isn't freedom. This isn't really true. It's far less safe to let your kids roam in a big city where they could get attacked by a crackhead than letting them bike/walk around in a suburban neighborhood. Remember, public schools are location-based and an elementary school tends to draw from a smaller area than a middle school which draws from a smaller area than a high school, so visiting school friends when young doesn't mean traveling that far. The only age group that is "trapped' is 14-15.5 year olds because they may have friends and activities far enough away that they would need to drive, yet they are unable to.Mostly because of the points they make about children being able to move about independently and walk to school or wherever they want to go, instead of having to ask to be driven around to get anywhere, or about essentially living in a large suburban jail with nowhere to go in walking range.
Tech companies replacing their workforce with pajeets leads to brain drain and ultimately more money spent fixing their shoddy work, yet they do it. Amazon may very well be such a shitty employer that there's evidence to suggest that they could run out of workers in a few years, and yet they do it. You are confusing powerful with intelligent. The reality is that the powers that be are very, very stupid, or at the very least not the all-seeing all-knowing eye that it's commonly portrayed as. In the case of the WEF 'eat the bugs, own nothing and be happy' types, I think these people are partially attempting to disempower people to maintain their hegemony, but they also have a legitimate belief in a very outdated 1960s utopian society. It's a holdover from the days where we really thought a United Federation of Planets might have been possible.I seriously doubt the elites would advocate for this because having a walkable society means, you don't have to buy a car and would screw over the car industry, it would also decrease social isolation and obesity which is what the elites don't want. This. These people occasionally hit on cogent points, such as passenger rails between cities and better public transit for cities legitimately too crowded to accommodate cars such as NYC. But then the other shoe drops and they start in with the anti-car rhetoric and smugly chortling about high gas prices. At this point I'm starting to wonder if there's some fuckery going on to discredit them as a whole and make them look like retards, much like the infamous Doreen antiwork incident. We need someone that isn't a fucking Eurocuck or a tankie breadtuber to advocate for some of this stuff. The WEF is saying that we should stop our "wasteful" personal car usage, just saying. https://archive.md/DhINT

As for the topic: "Walkable" urban design is one of the very few things i agree on with leftists and libs. Mostly because of the points they make about children being able to move about independently and walk to school or wherever they want to go, instead of having to ask to be driven around to get anywhere, or about essentially living in a large suburban jail with nowhere to go in walking range. But as of lately i've been skeptical about the people, methods and motives behind it, seeing how nearly everyone besides NJB promoting it are breadtubers. I just like to think that as with anything that gets sucked in by the political internet shit-typhoon, hating car-centric design is being taken to black & white extremes. It might sound like cartoon supervillain shit, but i wouldn't be surprised if some of the "fuck cars" people only proposed these solutions because, in true commie fashion, they hate personal ownership and individual living and unironically want everyone to live in soviet kommunalka co-ops with no privacy and to go to work on buses packed like sardines.
Europoors somehow manage to pull it off without getting their children attacked by crackheads. It's far less safe to let your kids roam in a big city where they could get attacked by a crackhead than letting them bike/walk around in a suburban neighborhood.
based and motorcycle pilledThe anti-car, pro-public-transit insectoid becomes confused and agitated when you point out that motorcycles are clearly the best form of transportation.
Because majority of crime is done by niggers and other shitskins that have been in White American cities for decades that cause said problems. Though in some places in Europe like London for example adopted acid throwing problems that originated from India.Europoors somehow manage to pull it off without getting their children attacked by crackheads.
